This is one of the best Civ 7 themes so far. Strong vocals and the track actually changes more over time. It’s not as repetitive as the ancient Greek theme for sure.
I appreciate that more composers are involved in this first wave of themes, but Geoff Knorr really proves his worth on this track. The vocals, particularly, are killer. This the best track released so IMO. Also major props to the Firaxis marketing team. The content roll out for Civ VII is really well executed.
Vocals add humanity to civ. Civilizations are founded on humans. More vocals. This is great. Music shouldnt be "too ambient". It should be clear and noticeable.
I don't disagree that vocals are nice, but in a game where you're listening to largely the same few tracks on repeat for hours on end, I don't think it's that bad for the music to be more understated.

After his successful reign, when he retired, he adopted Jainism while the state religion was still the vedic sanatana dharma. His son Bindusara was also a Hindu throughout his life. Bindusara's son Ashoka was also Hindu for most part of his life before he adopted buddhism. Vedic hinduism has been there for millennia in India and be practised by a huge majority of Indian people across millennia while other dharmic religions such as Jainism and Buddhism have had their short periods of prevalence. While vedic Hinduism is rooted in India, Buddhism and Jainism blossomed out to other countries. Also, the vedic mantra was not ganesha mantra though it mentions ganapati (which here means leader of groups). There was no Ganesh worship at the time of rig veda. Ganesh became a deity much later. Finally, brahmins didn't come back to power as they don't rule the country. It was the vedic dharma that reclaimed its place.

And the Sanskrit Language itself is originated from Prakrit Language.

Hinduism never has insisted anyone to believe in 'God' or anything in particular other than seek the source or 'truth' .. But we are starting to emulate abrahamic religions, for whatever reason... And laying hard rules down to separate who is a good Hindu and who is not.. Sad.

I dunno, I'm Indian and the video feels accurate to how I feel inside a Hindu temple or at a puja service. It feels very foreboding. I think it fits Maurya because Maurya is a massive empire, and Ashoka a powerful emperor, atoning for the sins of war, but everyone around them is completely at their mercy.

I dunno, I'm Indian and the video feels accurate to how I feel inside a Hindu temple or at a puja service. It feels very foreboding. I think it fits Maurya because Maurya is a massive empire, and Ashoka a powerful emperor, atoning for the sins of war, but everyone around them is completely at their mercy.
