This is one of the best Civ 7 themes so far. Strong vocals and the track actually changes more over time. It’s not as repetitive as the ancient Greek theme for sure.
Chandragupta only supposedly converted to Jainism after abdicating the throne. Bindusara remained Hindu. Ashoka and his successors patronised both Buddhism and Hinduism. The following Shunga and Satvahana Emperors were primarily Hindu but also patronised Buddhism.
I appreciate that more composers are involved in this first wave of themes, but Geoff Knorr really proves his worth on this track. The vocals, particularly, are killer. This the best track released so IMO. Also major props to the Firaxis marketing team. The content roll out for Civ VII is really well executed.
Vocals add humanity to civ. Civilizations are founded on humans. More vocals. This is great. Music shouldnt be "too ambient". It should be clear and noticeable.
I don't disagree that vocals are nice, but in a game where you're listening to largely the same few tracks on repeat for hours on end, I don't think it's that bad for the music to be more understated.
