@marcarthurclarete9126 Good news, Siam was confirmed in the Modern Age stream. We see the name and an elephant icon behind Ashoka when they were going over some of the new diplomacy options
@@FingersKungfu "Thai" didn't mean anything until around 1940s, before that, it was Siam, Khmer, Malay, Lanna, Laos under Siamese government. Both Khmer empire and this soundtrack sounds more like exploration era not ancient. This keeps bugging me. If you listen to Greece and Egypt and Maya, they are more monotonous which is fine with antiquity civs, this one though fanfares all over the place much like chola and more colorful than Han China.
@ yes specifically East Asian, I’m a Khmer my self so how can I not know that? In Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar we use another shape straw hat beside the cone one. Don’t generalize an entire continent.
As a Khmer, I recognize the first part to have ភ្លេងសុីនួន (Pleng Sinoun) and ភ្លេងស្មើ (Pleng Smaer) as the second part! (I'm self taught in Khmer ballet but I'm not that flexible 😅)

I would hardly say they’re doing it arbitrarily, changing civs is clearly an integral part of how the upcoming civ will be designed. If you didn’t change civs you’d just be shooting yourself in the foot since everyone else will have more relevant bonuses to the age as well as stuff from their previous civ and you’d just be stuck there living in the past
Every aspect in game somehow limits player’s choice, and you are basically playing inside the rules of the game. If you don’t like it, it’s fine. Just play your old civ games while we go forward.
