Very interesting, but we have 3 problems : First, Teller have shuffles the deck and Penn have cuts it BEFORE the choice of the card. Second, Boris Wild said in a conference that he had sorted out the pub cards and the jokers and it was cut in the editing Third, Penn had three card in his hand at the end of the trick. But thank you so much to share that version of the ACAAN.
That is why I hate that scam of a show. They are great with the edits and helping the magicians do "magic". After all they need to make it appear they are creating magic for the ratings.
they just cut the part where they takes out the jokers, it dosent change the trick at all. also I think Penn had notice that he has more cards in his hands but they still didn't understand how he did the trick so they decided to give hime the trophy anyway
@@rockdesu They literally did the opposite. They cut out the part where he removes the jokers and advertising cards, and instead make it look like he produced a deck of only 52 cards, from a completely fresh box that should usually contain 56 cards. Editing it in that way actually makes it look obvious that he's using a gimmicked deck, whereas if they'd left that portion in, it would have looked like a completely legitimate, normal fresh deck.
Assuming it's a genuine fresh deck, he'd just need to start with the gimmick pocketed and palm it into the deck, probably while Teller is showing the chosen card to the audience. That means any shuffling or whatever before the pick is returned to the deck is irrelevant. Then he has to reclaim it by palming it from the top before handing Penn the 3 cards. I mean, watching the video I don't catch either of those palms, but he does have the deck in his hands at both points, so it is possible. I do find it somewhat unlikely however that Teller would miss that there's a double / bent card in the deck when he's given it to shuffle, plus there's a risk Teller just separates them by chance. That suggests to me he's holding the stuck-pair during the shuffle and returns it after. Now we're up to 4 palms that P&T don't catch up close though, which if that's how he did it is impressive in itself.
To be honest I am getting tired of these wannabe "I explain it" that turn out not to explain what Boris wild actually did: those aren't but click-baits hiding behind misleading titles.
I give you credit for being able to think of a way to pull this effect off which seems hard to do at all. As some have said it isn’t how Boris did it and one way I know for certain is because when he counted 3 cards down, he didn’t square up the 3 cards, like you have to do in this method or else you’ll see the cards going under the chosen card, he left all three spread out and told pen to pick them up. Also I was excited about this method you came up with and I practiced it for a hour or so and I personally found that it isn’t practical for two reasons. If someone says a number even over like 8 or 10 the gimmick card and chosen one end up splitting apart due to so many being in between which risks being caught as the spectator that’s infront of you might see that there is a card there all of a sudden that wasn’t before and cards going in between them possibly. And the other reason I found which makes this not practical the most is even after making the tape not as sticky, when you square the cards up or the cards going in between make the gimmick split, it makes a loud noise like tape being unstuck, a sticky noise. I tried doing it different ways, slowly, fast. Didn’t matter. I am impressed that you were able to think of this but I wish it was more practical and less risky.
A few guys in the comment section have said that wild himself stated that he actually sorted out the joker cards live on show but it just didn't make it into the final cut, and he also said that it was in fact an entirely new deck
Good guess but probably not the way he used. Penn called card Number 3 and Boris handled him the 3 cards for him to check... he did not handle him 4 and they were able to check the cards looking for adhesive tape if there was any
No. Iys actually that method. Boris for this trick always control the espectators card to the third position. Iys was a coincidence that penn said number 3
@@nicco-sixty There was some kind of communication in some way before the routine between Boris and Penn and Teller. In other words, the effect was stooged.
@@freegee3503 Why do ignorant people like you always assume that there is a stooge when you can't explain an effect with your limited knowledge of magic? Besides stooges aren't allowed
That's one theory, but if you go back and look at the actual trick he did on pen and teller. When he counted out 3 cards. If the first two cards were the gimmick cards, then that means that on the third card he counted out he would have to had shoved it in between the first and two cards to make it the third card. But he didn't, he counted out 3 cards and the third card went on to the bottom of the first two cards. Penn Got the handle and inspect the last three cards and if there was some kind of sticky tape on there, he would have found that.
Did he not give the deck to Penn after the trick? It is very unlikely Penn or Teller would not see the gimmick. If Penn chose a very high number, he would certainly have seen that Boris did something fishy when counting.
The problem is he just took the deck back from Teller after the shuffled and didn’t do anything with it other than held it in mechanics grip. How did he move the gimmick cars to the top?
Surely, if Penn picked 52, the trick would fail. Since it would be the last or bottom card. Then there is no sense in counting to 52 and is logically forced, i.e. Penn could comment it must be the bottom card, to show the bottom card. And even if he were to count all the cards, he would be 1 short unless he added 1 extra card for the grimmick.
Okay this was an amazing way to do an ACAAN, I agree.❤️ I have a question though, when Pen took the cards from Borris's hands, he examined it thoroughly and they were only 3. Where did the extra card go!?
@shikha Kashyap Yes, this cannot be the way he did the trick. If you saw the video on that blind card mechanic on Penn and Teller. We could think he somehow managed to get the selected card to the top. And then handled the second card until the 3rd card, I think this can be done with practice.

Since P&T examined the cards in the end.. I do not believe there were any gimmicked cards in his performance. However, based P&T's particular question on when he 'squared' the deck. I am pretty sure he used a Stripper deck with one edge slightly tapered in one direction which allowed him probably control the top or bottom of the deck. ( or 2nd position like in this reveal)
I think the question about squaring the deck was because they thought that if the deck was fanned out before calling the number, Boris could have moved the bottom card to correct position while closing the deck. I think they weren't fooled by any other part but how to get the correct card to the 3rd position.
yes. nice try. but what Penn asked Boris in the end is what we all should be asking. did Boris shuffle the deck after he gave the number 3. it wasn't. and the card was not at the top neither as many try to explain this method.
