  • Ego has a stellar product here, my first foray into battery operated line trimmers and i'm not left wanting. The trimmer is lightweight without feeling light duty. I cant wait to watch the evolution of battery OPE.

Cant wait to see you review the new Bull Handle Brushcutter!!
A lot of us remove the guard, gets you closer to the ground and doesnt cut the line BUT i didnt tell you that :-)

Still loving my 15" EGO brushless. Would have gone for the 13" if it had variable speed. Otherwise, it's perfectly adequate. 15" is totally overkill for our place, but I wanted variable :)

Hi all, is it okay to try and cut edges with this? Looking at some reviews it says it's basically an on of switch and not variable with the trigger??

Well my 15" shat itself and trying to get it fixed has been a headache. I can no longer stand behind this brand. It was awesome when it worked but as stated before, the property we have has a tiny suburban patch of grass. It got barely any use then just stopped working. Spare parts are expensive.

Another great review guys! Just one question though, where is the motor in that thing?

    • @OZToolTalk

The motor is believe it or not in the head !
Pretty sweet setup, helps with weight distribution I guess... Clever I reckon. (Mike)

we are really getting ripped off in this country on products from overseas over in America they're only paying $179 for the ego 15 inch brushless line trimmer in a kit that's battery charger and 2.5 amp hour battery included

Shane Suridge I agree in part with your frustration. The problem is there are middle men involed like wholesale distributors who cover all imports and warranty claims and importing process. THEN you have the retailers. But also don't forget the wages over there are significantly different. I have friends over there and know wages. So I think sometimes we get taken for a ride bit there are many many factors. (Mike)

I'm doubting which one to buy, The 13" or the 15" version because of the line difference. Do you still feed 2.4mm in your 13" inch trimmer? I was wondering if it affects the trimmer in the long run?

sorry Jonas, we both run the 15". Not sure about the 13" line. I can't imagine it would hurt the tool, maybe just occasionally get a bit caught up in the spool. [Dwain]

One up the sleeve customs Hey mate,
watt hours on 2.0 Ah is 112
and on the 7.5 Ah it is 420
Its calculated by multiplying the Voltage Amp Hours.

but EGO will be supplying 2.5Ah batteries with this, which will have 140 Wh. Though they are based on the max voltage (56v). The nominal voltage is 50.4V, so you could do the same calculation with that number too.
