    Great job. Learned a lot watching this. Besides the different, innovative methods, I learned alot about cooking over coals vs flames. And how to move the wood to get rid of flames and/or manage the heat. I do pass on pine myself tho. But very well done - bought the grill stand using the link.

      I was wondering, as he said he used pine, because it also produces a resin that, when burned, can make an acrid smoke and adulterate flavor.

    • @CharlieRootsMusic
      @CharlieRootsMusic ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's OK to cook pine completely burned to coals but never use to smoke or use inside the house fireplace unless necessary.

    Amazing video Jason! Going to try to get a setup like this going. Was hoping you’d cut into one of the steaks at the end! Do you cook venison steaks the same way?

    • @tradbowpodcast
      @tradbowpodcast  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We don't often cook venison steaks like that as they are thin with very little fat so they cook so fast they don't really absorb much of the fire flavor.

      No idea. And sold the house and the little grill with it. I'd guess 6 to 7 inches is how tall it stood

    Do you ever cook your venison over coals?

    • @tradbowpodcast
      @tradbowpodcast  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      occasionally but since there is no fat in venison and we cut the steaks so thin its not really worth it as they are only on there a couple quick mins.

    Why don't it cook on fire?

    • @tradbowpodcast
      @tradbowpodcast  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Fire is not hot enough. Coals are what you want to cook over. Plus the fire just burns the outside of the steaks without cooking the inside.
