What is the Truth Behind the Missing 411?

  • We are going on a deep dive into what Missing 411 is and critically looking at the project and its creator David Paulides. There are many videos that talk about the stories contained in the project but not many that talk about the project itself or Paulides. And trust me, there is a lot to talk about.

    It's bullshit. Paulides keeps talking about "boulder fields" at the base of mountains like they're some hiding ground for mythical creatures. In reality, they're just huge dangerous areas where boulders can roll, there's crevasses, ankle sprains, etc... Boulder fields just suck to traverse.

    • @waywornwyrm8135
      @waywornwyrm8135  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yep. He talks about stuff that is common and/or dangerous as if they are these rare things that are so interesting that they keep showing up. One of the things I disagree with this video now vs when I made it, is I gave Paulides the benefit of the doubt. I concluded that he is, or at least was, a true believer and that gravy train of money is what’s keeping him perpetually on the edge of announcing new key evidence that will blow this whole thing wide open. After all of my research I’m not sure I agree with that takeaway. I’m leaning more toward this has always been a grift.
      Recently I’ve been watching a lot of Lore Lodge. While I disagree with them about if this missing 411 is a thing or now, and I hope I showed why in this video, I do really appreciate that they are not afraid to call Paulides out for his bullshit.

    I don't think there is some type of over lapping conspiracy involving all of these missing 411 cases but there is definitely some weird unexplainable circumstances involving at least some of them. People travelling impossible distances, the neatly folded clothes belonging to people that didn't bring extra clothes with them into the woods, deaths blamed on animals where there clearly wasn't a struggle... I'm not saying anything super natural is occurring, but it is really odd.

    • @waywornwyrm8135
      @waywornwyrm8135  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I am not saying they are not odd. But I am saying that these are not unexplainable if one had all the information, which we might not have, and the idea that hundreds or thousands of people go missing in national parks each year is not true, unless you are counting those who briefly go missing and are found very quickly which are not a part of these cases.

      @waywornwyrm8135  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you. If someone was trying to make the highest number of missing people possible they would take that and count you. There is a very real discussion to have around things like that.
      For another example about 12 years ago a guy living in Yellowstone National Park went to get his mail and was mauled by a bear that had been moved by rangers due to danger to humans (why they left said bear within sight of this guy’s house I’ll never know). During this fatal mauling the guy had a massive heart attack that killed him faster than the bear was. Did that guy get killed by a bear or by a heart attack? Officially he died from a heart attack. Yellowstone has every incentive to keep the number of people killed by bear as low as possible.

For months now , Paulides is making the ridiculous claim that whatever "takes" these people , they prefer GERMANS !! I sent Paulides a message and pointed-out the fact that the largest White ethnic group in the U.S.A. IS Germans , so they would be the largest number of missing prople. Paulides ignored my facts and CONTINUES to claim that the abducters PREFER Germans. Thank You for investigating this deceitful jerk !!

    Just a minor note aout something you said near the end--Paulides doesn't sell his books on Amazon and has frequently told people not to buy them there, because the selelrs charge three to four times what he sells them for on his site.

    Yes. David Paulides was a serious Bigfoot researcher before he stumbled into this gig. That should tell us something. That and he strings the audience along with vague patterns and directions that only superficially unite cases and there are never any solid conclusions. My favorite is when he highlights how a lot of bodies are found without clothes and how it would have made no sense to strip in such cold weather. That’s advanced hypothermia. People get delirious and feel hot when there’s really no heat. Stripping in that state is a big mistake but it’s pretty common. Any trained forest ranger would know that.

    In addressing the “would like to see a child psychologist…” first off it wouldn’t be included in any police report what a psychologist found out either. Thats a stupid argument to prove legitimacy because it’s traumatizing to relive the experience, just for your curiosity- adult or child. Second its a HEPA thing. Third, alot of Paulides stories are from the 30’s-60’s when psychology was not what it is today, some even as the late 1800’s. He doesn’t do alot of recent disappearances due to open investigations and not meeting a criteria he developed to qualify as a 411 case. Frankly, do what Paulodes did and write the national forest or do a Freedom of Information reqst and see if they release any info on missing persons in a particular national forest area. See what you get. If you get full disclosure, then discredit David. I dont believe someone watching cryptid YT or movies is really the BIG creditability to discredit anyone, but they are welcome to an opinion of course. And its ok to not believe in anything.

      I’m not sure what “I’ve never heard of you” is supposed to convey. I have a small channel, I’m always more surprised when someone has heard of me than when they haven’t.
      No, I’m not hating on Dave, as you call him. I grew up around cops, I had several in the family, and as such being a cop, or an ex-cop doesn’t give someone more or less credibility with me. The problem is he claims he was a detective who quit being a cop. As I go over in the video, which I am sure you watched all of, there is no evidence that he was ever a detective and unless he rose through the ranks very quickly there really wasn’t much time for him to be one. And I don’t know he he quit or was fired, but he left policing when charged with what amounts to corruption.
      I’m also not convinced he searches for missing people. He has a tiny number of “cases” that even if they all happened in the same year they would be less than one tenth of one percent of everyone who visits US National Parks. As other people have pointed out in these comments he lies about the circumstances at least sometimes, and is always a “few months” away from being able to release information that proves him right, he just needs your help to keep him going until then.

      @@waywornwyrm8135 When someone says you are, 'hating on Dave', they are most likely a villager. They bring no facts to the table, just their 'feelings'.

      @@deerichardz David Paulides is a God, and anyone who criticizes him or calls out his bullshit is a blasphemer!
      In all seriousness, his fan base is really just full of bullies who never think for themselves. Any criticism of David is just you being a hater in their eyes, as well as being jealous. Then they throw a personal attack and end it with a laughing emoji to show off how smug and condescending they are. They don't seem to realize that they tarnish the image of their favorite "investigator" even further than David does himself which I find amusing. Another weird thing is how they refer to him as "Dave" as if he's a good friend of theirs despite not knowing him. My uncle is neck deep into David Paulides' and Steve Isdahl's bs and talks about them as if he personally knows them, even quoting their political comments as if they are an authority on such things. It's hard to not see it as some sort of cult at this point. It also appears to be willful ignorance.

      He’s not. He’s a liar. And I have yet to see a case that he talked about that doesn’t have a resolution that no one cares about. Not that he will tell you that.

      It would be great if parents just tell their kids that bigfoot and skinwalkers don't exist, but bears certainly do.
