  • Foolish pride leads us to envy others and obsess over our own success or lack thereof. But the heavenly wisdom of Christ teaches us to see ourselves with a right estimation, so that we can celebrate other people’s successes, admit our failures without anger or despair, and pursue the kind of life that Jesus himself demonstrated during his ministry.
This is a WELS sermon on the readings from Year B Pentecost 18: God’s love fills our lives so that we make it our ambition to reflect God’s intense and all-embracing grace in our lives and attitudes. Readings are Jeremiah 11:18-20; James 3:13-18; and Mark 9:30-37.

Good reminder for myself in looking back AR who I was before being saved. Where I fid myself at this moment, and where I hope to be tomorrow. Ouch still struggle with, pride, arrogance, self- seeking, and being humble...however living in the moment know I've made progress. Lol Pastor still have a ways to go. I'm a work in progress.

We live as saints and sinners at the same time until Christ perfects us in glory. Keep marching toward that perfection by the Spirit's power!
