The Browns then proceeded to have another last place season while Rookie QB Bo Callahan lit up the league to show that he has a bright future in the NFL.

Just watched this movie. I love how they show that after the announcement Sonny and Vonte are having the same basic presence. Everyone around them going nuts, but they are both calm and looking to what's next. This is one of those subtle bits that is the difference between a good movie and a great movie, where every little bit counts.
It was the dying wish of his father for Sonny to draft Vontae Mack. Maybe before he was fired and later death, Coach Weaver was interested in drafting him. Despite the strain in their relationship, he wrote a note for his son to read. When Penn opened up the folded note, he soon realized that Sonny had fulfilled his father's last wish to draft Mack.
@@therealneal3034 Please, please don't mix Marvel and DC like that, we're already pushing it with Spoderman. That's like having pancakes and tacos for lunch, it ain't right!
I know everyone’s talking about Vontae Mack’s reaction to getting drafted first overall by the Browns, but let’s not forget that Chadwick was 36 when this movie was filmed, that’s crazy because he actually looks like he could’ve easily been 21 or 22 like most drafted NFL players are, it’s ironic how young and healthy he looked for his age that he would be diagnosed with cancer two years later, but it’s a reminder that NOBODY’s safe and could get cancer no matter how they look or how they’re living
The clip doesn't show it, but just after this, Sunny hands the head coach a sticky note saying "Vontae Mack, no matter what." I'm not sure, but I think the note was supposed to have been from his late father, the previous head coach.
Didn't even know that mr. Boseman was in this movie. Just made my day seeing him again. An amazing actor and human being, big example. Haven't seen black panther yet, but love 42 where he plays such an icon like Jackie Robinson. And he plays it so well. You are deeply missed, rest in peace and in POWER King!
Did anyone else notice when they first announce the pick, the reaction of Mack is cut and reused around 2:34 but from the side angle? Lazy from the directors.
So let me get this straight; he hears the pick is Vonte Mack and gives a "thumbs up" to the owner holding a Bo Jersey or at least thinking that must mean the pick is for Mr.. Callahan...should have just looked confused or the dog "confused face". Lol
In this movie the Browns passed on the hyped prospect quarterback to select a random guy called Mack and in real life the Browns passed on a guy called Khalil Mack to select the hyped up quarterback Johnny football…. No more words to say
Bo Callahan is supposed to be a future “bust” due to “character issues” - shown for example by how his teammates did not even show up for his birthday party, not one of them (!). But in real life, there’s no way a quarterback (at any level) could be as successful as Heisman Trophy winner Bo Callahan if they all hated him to the extent that NOT EVEN ONE (?!) of them would show up for his birthday party. It just doesn’t add up. To win, the quarterback has to be the kind of leader who can just will his team to great things (Namath in SB III, Tom Brady in SB LI when they were down 28-3, Eli Manning leading NYG to two huge upsets in SB XLII and SB XLVI vs. Patriots, etc) Sometimes, a mediocre quarterback could even be uplifted by the inspired play of his teammates, simply because they really want to win for him (Tebowmania). He has to have such great camaraderie with his teammates and their respect in the locker room and on the field to pull all that off. Also, Bo’s college coach said that he “doesn’t have any friends.” But if Callahan had such questionable character, then the scouting teams of not just the Browns but ALL the other 31 teams would have long known it by then - certainly long before Draft Day! My take is that, if Callahan could be good enough to be the best college player in the country, if he could be a very successful quarterback even without the required chemistry and camaraderie with his teammates, then he really MUST have been quite a gifted quarterback, skills-wise. A kind who can win no matter what. Kind of like how Michael Jordan was such jerk with his teammates but could still win year after year due to his great play and the force of his personality. Reggie Jackson with the Athletics and Yankees. Not everybody has to be like a Gretzky or Messi and be loved by everyone, or even any one. Maybe Bo Callahan was like that, and he wasn’t destined to be a bust. Maybe. That being said, I still enjoyed this movie. A lot!

The reaction of Mack is completely accurate.
We all know that look when someone's career flashes before his eyes when being drafted by the Browns.
