I think the people defending the scouting are missing a key point here. It's not about the scouting on Bo, and not catching a couple of bad plays. They HAD been scouting Mack! This was the biggest game of his college career. And yet, they all were clueless to the fact he got EJECTED for touching a ref?? That's the part that is completely unrealistic. Even for the Browns.

I love scouting and I've seen this movie like 8 times. There are sooooooo many things wrong with this movie. Vontae Mack is described as a "speedy inside linebacker to plug the holes in a 4-3", yet all his film is as a pass rusher. The bald scout mentions his bullrush, when Vontae did the complete opposite of a bull rush (speed move). And we're led to believe the front office is just now figuring out all this information, when it would have been done months earlier. Still one of my favorite movies though.
My guess -- a football fan created the script, a non-football fan with more power had script editing power and told the writer to dumb it down for anyone to be able to follow. You'll notice throughout the movie how the script explains the processes to the audience when in reality there is no need for explanation between characters in the scene.
goatcheese4me Yup, it's dumbed down colossally. Ref would never flag anyone for politely handing the ball to a fan, obviously. And who cares that Bo was out for that throw. It was pure Roethlisberger and Bo Callahan is pro ready. Shoulda taken him at the 1.

Really? Check out how many championships Reggie White won in Philadelphia? Yes, the Defense can very often make the difference (there is a case to be made that the greatness of the 49ers was dependent on the fact that for 17 years they didn't surrender more than 300 points in a single season) but the simple fact is that if you don't score any points, you can't win the game. Universally acknowledged as the best Defense in the NFL between about 1950 and 1970 was the Detroit Lions. The only playoff game they saw after Bobby Lane was gone... a 0-5 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in 1970.
Let’s just say the Ohio State v Wisconsin game was in October. If Vonte’s sister dies 6 months later, that would be April. The NFL draft is always in April, so she just died days ago. It would be hard to make the argument that the clips were from a year earlier because Vonte Mack and Bo Callahan are up in the same draft and scouts would be looking at the most recent tape.

@@SeanP7195 YES! If they don't score. You can't lose. 0-0-16 or better will always make post season
It's called passion !
kevin costner is saul goodman’s brother i swear…
Let’s just say the Ohio State v Wisconsin game was in October. If Vonte’s sister dies 6 months later, that would be April. The NFL draft is always in April, so she just died days ago. It would be hard to make the argument that the clips were from a year earlier because Vonte Mack and Bo Callahan are up in the same draft and scouts would be looking at the most recent tape.
0:06 “he absolutely bull rushed that right tackle”
Nah a bull rush is when you engage the tackle quickly and noticeably push him backwards/knock him on his back. Sorry bub
For first overall pick: what did he get ejected for?
For fifth round pick: never seen him but his name is preety cool sounds like a cornerback
You know the shoe doesn’t have no damn blue railings. Come on man!
The play at 0:40 only should further explain why Bo should be the first pick. Only 5 ppl on this earth can do that
Does anyone else notice the QB is black until the very last second then he’s white 😂😂
He's white the whole way, not sure what you're seeing.
I noticed that too?
I’m pissed he said bull rush when he used his hands in a swim move
Great movie and who does NOT just love Kevin C
This looks like the way recent Giants drafts have gone.
Whos here after the caleb williams combine 😂😂😂😂😂
anyone else notice they switcehed out the QB for the scene he throws the TD @ 0:44
How does nobody in the sporting world know that's his sister that died 6 months later
Imagine spending $25 million on a movie entirely about football and not knowing what a bull rush is 🤦🏼♂️
As a general manager he's the only one looking st the bigger picture on these players the rest of scouts and coach just looking at stats
With how brain dead the scouts are in this film I'm going to assume all of their picks were busts and Bo Callahan was Patrick Mahomes lol
