    Hi, having just found your channel I'm a bit late to the party with my comments.
    Thank you for giving such a clear and well explained review of this hob. Your presenting style is excellent. No zany camera effects and no overpowering music track - just your honest review and demonstration 👍
    I am considering buying this hob and your video is really helpful. I'll certainly be watching for other products, thank you.

    Planning on purchasing one like this. I had to return the one that I bought because the inductors were, in reality, very small and not according to published specs. It only heated a 10cm in diameter "circle", despite an advertised 18cm inductor size.
    With this Bosch have you experienced something similar with any of the cooking areas?

    Hi, how are you getting on with this hob 5 years later? Also I'm surprised nobody mentioned to you that with Diversity you can realistically run both the hob and oven on the same 32a circuit to their full potential.

    • @everythingandthekitchensink
      @everythingandthekitchensink  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi, I have been told that I could increase the power and it would all be ok, but I haven’t done that yet, it works perfectly well as it is with the reduced power. The hob is in perfect working condition and still looks like new, so really pleased.
      I don’t use any of the feature like perfect fry or linked hobs.. the timer is useful! Haha! Good job, very pleased

  • @BChopakov
    @BChopakov 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Hey!
    If you apply the principle of diversity, you should be able to freely use both the hob and the oven without having to limit the power of the hob.
    The total consumption of both appliances equals 11 kW or 11000 Watts (the hob is 7.4 kW, the oven 3.6 kW). That is equivalent to around 48 amps (11000W/230V). Neither the hob nor the oven though draws maximum power all the time. You don't cook constantly using all 4 burners on level 9, do you? The oven, after a few minutes, also uses much less than maximum power. It also switches on and off just to keep the temperature constant.
    According to the principal of diversity and the relevant regulations and norms you should be able to connect appliances with maximum power up to 15kW with a 32 amp fuse.
    Here's the formula:
    10A + ((30%* (48A-10A)) = 21.4A
    Perfectly fine for your 32A fuse

      @@everythingandthekitchensink Don't worry! You've got a 32A trip switch which will come into effect in case much larger current starts flowing through the cable. Have you got any idea how big is the cable - 6 or 4 mm2?

    Finally a UK review of Hobs. However it is always best practice to run separate circuits to allow you to isolate the protective devices. Also you need to add the power factor as you will find that if it is a 7kw machine and is .95pf the maximum load would be 32amps. However for fuses to trip requires continuous power draw which if you were to see the power curve draw never maintains a constant power draw of the full rating as the other plates and oven go on and off and maintain temperature. The only risk is wacking everything on max at the exact same time and to then sustain it until either the fuse melts or trips or cables burn out. Cables burning out is not likely to happen if you have a 32amp fuse because your cables would have been oversized for that breaker. That is if it was installed correctly! Keep up with the good videos!

    I live in a small bachelor flat and just bought a 2 burner Media induction hob.
    I had to buy some sort of expensive heavy bottomed pans as I noticed with my Ikea ones that boiling eggs on a medium low heat the water would boil madly for about 4 seconds then nothing then boil madly again etc.
    The heavy bottomed pans are better but notice today that cooking brussel sprouts with a small amount of water with the lid on the same thing was happening - due to less water therefore less heat retention.
    Do the more expensive induction hobs overcome this problem with better heating controls?

    I have the same oven and mine is a plug-in version (european socket). Maybe you could just get your oven a normal plug and use the socket of your previous oven, so that you don't have to limit your hob?

    • @everythingandthekitchensink
      @everythingandthekitchensink  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I didn't even know you could get a plug in version? To date however everything seems to be ok with the setup I have got. I actually do not see much difference with the hob limiting because using just one burner does not impact on the power draw, its only if I use all four at the same time do I see a reduction in power and actually that never really happens. Thanks for the info !

    Hi! If i have a large frying pan (around 26-28 cm in diameter) which is the most suitable area to cook on the hob? In the user manual the flex zone is defined either as a large 40 X 24 cm zone, either as two 19 cm in diameter areas. This is confusing for me....If i put a pan let's say 25 cm in diameter on the lower or upper 2 smaller zones of the flex zone, does it heat 24 cm of the pan or 19 ?! Thanks!

    • @everythingandthekitchensink
      @everythingandthekitchensink  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I would ether put it on the front right hand side as this is the largest space. I have a large rectangular pan that I sometime use on the flex zone in the middle, and active flex so it only heats the two middle sections. However I find that its best just to use the large right hand one for bigger pans. Although, I have used the smaller back right one for large pans too and it works fine?
      Regarding Flex zone... there are four small areas, if the base of the pan covers an area it will heat up when you turn on flex... also if you move the pan around on the flex area it will change as necessary. So it adapts to one, two, three or all four small zones - but only on the areas where the pan covers as it must use the magnets to detect if the pan is covering. Does that make sense?

    • @everythingandthekitchensink
      @everythingandthekitchensink  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi!! Thanks :-) The surface on mine is holding up well - its no different to any ceramic/induction hob really. I have noted a few hairline marks but nothing that you would notice up close. Of course be careful with what you place on it and how you move things around - heavy based pans may mark if you shake the pan around while cooking? I really like both the oven and hob combo.... wish I could have purchased the Series 8 model of the Hob but that did push my budget too much!!

    • @everythingandthekitchensink
      @everythingandthekitchensink  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I have not tried this, do not have enough small pans, but I guess if you were to turn on FlexZone and place four small pans on each section, the pan detection would assume its one large pan and apply heat to all four pans. You would not be able to adjust the amount of power for each section, they would all be the same... but I guess its technically possible!

    You say you chose a "non plug in" hob, over a "Plug in hob", because plug in doesn't give the power you need. Then you throttle the power to approximately the same power as a plug in....... and pay a premium to do so.
    Surely this makes no sense whatsoever?....
