    Amazing video, book looks good as well, I believe the Norsemen arrived in North America, it's not that far from Greenland and the Greenlandees never had any issue sailing to mainland Europe

    And yet we know from the archaeological remains that there was long term trade between the Aleutians and the Greenland/Iceland people. It's clear that much of these sagas speak of lands far to the south (grazing land, forest, and most of all muscadine grapes) of the Inuit territories though where their reception was much colder.

    No need for believing. It has been proven. Settlements and dating in Canada amongst other things.

      Exactly. The archaeological digs at l'Anse aux Meadows were pretty conclusive.

    Just imagine if there had been a large successful colony in Vinland that lasted

    • @historyprofiles
      @historyprofiles  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I know it would have been inceadible. The one in greenland lasted quite a while, till the 1500s i belive, but the Norse suddenly dissapeared from there, its quite the mystery! anyway thank you so much for watching, hope you enjoyed!

    Imagine if they would have known what was up and brought an army. Things could have been way different with troops horse war dogs the people came to set up farms and got whacked.

    I wonder if Michael Cruchton got the idea for "The 13th Warrior" from this story 👍

    Waiting for the video showing how the natives of the south pacific sailed to north America. The south pacific island people were in ancient America.

    It would be hilarious if the vikings were the only people who managed to live in peace with native Americans.
