That's a good analogy that eBay is a Storage Unit for your items. I use the the "mining for bitcoin" analogy,...I log onto eBay to "mine for sales" by changing photographs, lowering prices, ending-selling-similar, etc.
I love the A-maze-ing Laughter statues. I find them very playful and I love the representation of the Chinese artist Yue Minjun. I usually rent a bike when I visit Vancouver and try to find all the art installations.
I've used NOS on items less than 20yrs, that are no longer available. I have items that are 2-3yrs. away from being considered vintage, lol. I get your frustration!
I stopped fretting about eBay and now crosspost on Mercari and Posh. Only listing items on eBay over $25.00 and now on a limited basis dabbling in jackets and shoes for Poshmark with some success. On a good note when I’m out sourcing my opportunities are expansive. Mercari is decent but the buyers are frugal. Selling a lot of items priced at $10 - $20. I have more listed on Mercari than eBay. Don’t let eBay drive your daily behavior and mood. Went to 2 church rummage sales and have 40 items to list and only paid $25 for all. Have 3 more church rummage sales tomorrow. I don’t step foot in a thrift store during the summer months. Vancouver looks like a great place to wandering around. Made me wondering in Vancouver is also has a history of Cowboys like Calgary ?
Yes nice to see outside I am from Australia thanxs . reselling is a big challenge it use to be soooo easy ! Lol ebay should be easy too but those days have gone I think ! Like a storage unit yes I like it a lot
I just dumped Posh after over a year with them. I also dumped Etsy. I’m going to focus on EBay and Mercari and do my own cross posts. Already have more Mercari sales because of it.
@hayfro I also dumped District. All done because I wsnt to simplify and give sharper focus on my listings. District dumped because I had to delist everyday. Posh picked to dump because the notifications from them were immense, annoying and time consuming. In a year, I sold 20 items. In comparison I've sold over 800 on ebay. Etsy because of political views and the fees was chosen for a dump too.
Put your promoted on suggested rate for me its 12% then i end my whole store and sell similar every 3rd Morning if you notice when u have alot of sales u have alot of organic impressions and good top 20 impressions ending and sell similiar gives u both but it wears off after 3 days so u get alot of organic sales and traffic plus your getting the 12% high promotion traffic its a good way to trick the algorithm i like to follow my traffic report day to day if your not getting 500k or more impressions your not gonna sell much try this method jeff it really works love your videos
Hi thanxs for sharing I don’t get promo rate when I sell similar at all how do u bring it down . I use same promo as yiu poor sales frustrating I try yiurs every three days I was doing everyday
@@hayfro I was and did find the sweet spot but..... Last Saturday that all changed. Sales for the most part slowed to a crawl after posting the best two weeks back to back and best month of the Year. I'm sitting at $40 net this week after store fees and a return. So I'm back to square 1. Also I've been slowly lowering my prices for over a month. Maybe I need to reduce more drastically. I wanna see if my store becomes basically free if I still get no sales
@@DarthThrifter either promoting only will ever work for a short amount of time and there really is no stability on ebay or the economy is far worse then we know. only hindsight will tell us what is reality.
Are there lots of yard sales up there in Canada? I am guessing much less than here in NY. I started listing my slabs, hundreds more to go and I keep buying more each week mostly on Whatnot.

@@katepickrum6976I am curious...did you get a lot of CONSISTENT sales on District? Would you recommend?
Omg it’s gonna be the middle of the night here so I’ll have to wait HOURS to find out what you’re up to now Jeff 😢😂
you can watch over your morning coffee...lol

Posh closed in Australia too bummer !
I actually noticed that sold on your store before I watched the video 🤣 think it was a great price also for both
how are things going darth. I saw you were having good sales and I was wondering what you are promoting at. have you found that sweet spot?

@@DarthThrifterJack thinks lowering prices is not what the algorithm favors since ebay is betting on the listings that maximize their take.

we have our fair share. sourcing is the least of my worries. i could not buy a thing for 6 months and never miss a beat
@@hayfro Yeah I got too much stuff I haven't listed yet, but my wife makes me take her to tons of sales because she is obsessed with jewelry.
