Hey Pepe's towing service! Freaking nice job! Moving the container with that much offset on the landall would be tricky for sure! Glad Joe went slow so the load didn't shift to the side that was hanging off the landall! Here in British Columbia Canada we have cops that specialize in trucks doing spot roadside safety inspections! Does that ever happen in California? Stay hydrated and stay freaking safe! Ride ride ride!

I have been doing heavy recovery work all my life but unfortunately we never had really good equipment like is available these day's . It was a lot harder years ago in my day & I would love to be able to have the sort of equipment you have to do these sometimes difficult job's & I agree with what you said in the beginning of this video that it is always better to take several recovery vehicles because with the best will in the world, information given to you by the companies or driver's or even the police. They are not heavy recovery people but you like me are & we have the knowledge of the equipment & it's capability & what is needed to do these job's safely. All the best & I will be watching lot's more of your job's with pleasure.
Great job again guys!! I dont know why there cant be some sort of load lock on those containers..or keep the load top side lower to the floor. You da man Josh :-)
Had a large export cartage contract with a large recycling company in Burnaby BC. One of newbie loaders loaded all the bails down one side and of course as soon as my driver pulled out of the dock she went over. Long story short got it picked and hooked on to a yard goat to go back in the door and over it went again. Not a good day or ride especially for the two drivers. Happy ending container got uprighted and reloaded and eventually made it to the ship.
As I understand it, those sea-land containers tend to have gapping at the doors that's just covered by the weather seals. You might consider getting a simple probe camera that you could push around the door seals to get a look inside before you have to resort to popping the load seal. At the very least it would give you an idea if something was possibly prone to dumping out on you when you pop the door. Just a thought.
Work smarter and safer, not foolish and risky. Nice job. If they keep loading them that way you will have work forever. Makes you wonder what the thought process is for these loaders. Maybe not much of one. Good team effort.

Great job guys....I would have thought you'd take it back to the port to have them put it on another chassis....but that would probably take days! They don't like doing any extra work, do they?!
the people who loaded this container should face criminal charges. They knew this was unsafe and prone to shifting. This trailer could have rolled over and crushed another vehicle full of passengers or landed on a sidewalk with people. I hope the company that sent this container on its way will not get away with this.
I haul containers, I see this crap all the time, in 23 yrs I've never rolled one, but come damn close a few times from poor load jobs like this. Idiots don't realize put enough of these poorly loaded boxes on a train it can cause a derailment.
This team is tremendous and the safety they do is a must, tow drivers have a more dangerous job than people realize and get killed on the job . Thankfully there wasn’t a car beside this thing when it went over the outcome would have been way worse.

Also, you are a VERY good teacher because, you have VERY good teachers (your dad, Dave and others) Success in these situations comes with adapting to changing challenges. I've watched a lot of videos of containers being off loaded at the port. Be curious to see if these roll overs can be attributed to one crane operator.
I don't believe so. Except for reefers nobody has any idea what is in any of the containers, only the weight, often not even that though. They all get equal treatment, rough sometimes not so rough other times.
I can't believe these guys don't secure these loads. I liked the Van Lingen rigging on the tractor. Speaking of Van Lingen, I have not seen any new videos from them.
The only opportunity to secure the load is at the place where they load and seal the cans. But yeah it is amazing that insurance comapny's haven't gone down the chain to convince them to use of some kind of dunning on these loads.
