I love my em5 mk2. I also have a back up em10 mk3 i got for less than $100 us. Next week my em5 mk1 should be returrned to me with a full spectrum conversation and then its a whole new world to discover.
My S5II is my everyday carry lol. It's pretty big and heavy, and together with an extra lens, extra battery and flash my camera bag also gets big and heavy but I'm willing to live with that. It gets a little annoyingly big sometimes so I'm considering the Sigma FP L because it's so small and still has L-mount FF.
Excellent, common sense content that we all need to hear. I think your "walkabout" description is perfect for my daily photo therapy. By the way, I think the E-M5 Mark II that you use was the pinnacle of the series. Built like a tank, small, feature-rich, and great output. Subscribed.
My GX9 is a brilliant walk around camera with top quality images. I was using the 12-35 f2.5 lens but found it a little heavy and unbalanced (better on the G9) So I've reverted to the kit 14-42 and the 15mm f1.7, which is a brilliant lens. I sometimes us the laowa 7.5 f2, even for street 👍
I have an EM5-mkiii and the 12-45 (bought 2nd hand) and I too, carry it everywhere. Mostly in a 2L Moment MTW Fanny sling but sometimes in a 6L Peak Design bag. My photography has improved a lot since I have been able to carry it all of the time.
Didn't know you could purchase used bags on MPB. Good to know. Your mindset on everyday travel photography is one I am totally in sync with. Opening my eyes wide for opportunities in daily life. Some years ago I was doing a lot of off road biking. I've seen so many beautiful scenery without a camera, I will not less this happen again :) My workday EDC is a GM5 and 12-32. I love it this setup. I would appreciate an articulated/rotating screen for low angle shots though. I am thinking about getting the G100 but I may already have enough cameras to play with :) For non working days I have a GX9 with 14-140.
My tiniest take along is a Lumix LX7 with 24-90mm Leica f1.4-2.3 lens. Multi aspect with aperture ing like LX100. And, iZoom extend the reach to 180mm for jpg AND raw! lGot mine for $90 (US). Super sharp under all conditions. So small that I carry it under my wind breaker on a neck strap. Fast for action shots to capture moments when hiking, Definitely recommend the LX7 if you can find one at a good price. Nice work! Keep sharing!👍🙂
Hi Eli, thanks very much for this video - I immediately googled for the Lowepro Slingshot 100 AW, found one for 15 euro and ordered it! Now I am configuring it to hold my G80 with the PL100-300, including the lens hood. And tomorrow I may buy a used G9 to put in the bag too.
@@Elifarnhill I did buy the G9 and it's great! I still have to learn all the new tricks but the first shots and very good. The autofocus on birds in flight is a great improvement over my G80
I like your " walkabout photography " theory sounds great ❤ what polarizer filter are you using for your micro four thirds lens?? Thanks for EDC idea! Oh another great idea for a edc carry camera would be a lx 100 or the E-PL light series from Olympus is also good with 2 lens kit like 15mm pancake and 14-42
Thank you! I have a Gobe 58mm one as far as I know! They would both be great edc kits! If I was going to shrink down the kit I'd go for something like the LX100
My everyday carry camera is the Olympus OMD EM10 iii. Paired it with my dynamic duo the MZuiko 17mm f1.8 and 45mm f1.8. Am not really a fan of the kit lens due to its limitation...narrow maximum apertures and lesser optical quality compared to the prime lens. But that just me...
Hey Eli, great style, I use a micro micro (stutter intended) four thirds camera as my walkabout; it is the TG-6. I’ve enjoyed this and a few of your other videos.
I think about a EDC Camera quite often. I want something I don’t need a big camera bag for. In winter it would be great just to be able to carry it in the pocket of my jacket. I thought about a point and shoot or a GX9 size camera with a pancake lens. I'd like to stick with MFT. Maybe next year Panasonic will issue a GX9 II.
I carry my Fuji X100 (original) literally everywhere. Still going strong after, what is it like, 12 years?). Sorry I know it’s not m43 related. But didn’t Pana do a dinky little, what was it LX100? I am sure you know which one I mean. Something like that would be perfect. Really pocketable. I always meant to pick one of those up. Also, Eli, no offence to you, but check your white balance, you look like a lobster! 😊 All the best 🍻
That's right yeah they did have the LX100, with a M43 sensor! I believe it gained a bit of a cult following too I'll definitely work on the white balance, currently trying new lights but I'll try to fix it for the next video, thanks for pointing it out! 😊
@@Elifarnhill Yeah! That’s the one, it was a killer little camera. Sorry about the lobster comment, truly honestly no offence, I mean, after all, we both have the exact same colouring (including facial hair). It was just a bit much on the magenta side. You don’t want to lose your female subscribers smile 😊 Take care!
I really wanted to like the 25mm F1.7 Lumix lens, but the bokeh is just something that's super weird, I mean it just looks wrong from other prime lenses that I have. Bought it twice and sold it twice. Now I don't have a 25mm everyday lens, the Sigma 16mm F1.4 serves the purpose optically but man that thing is so heavy...

It's so much camera in a tiny little form factor!
Nice setup. I vary across different EDC setups, but a common one I take is the E-M1III with the 12-100mm f4 which goes into my EDC backpack.
Great setup!

I have always seperated my work cameras from my “ fun “ “edc” cameras. As of now I have 2 a7ivs for work and x100v for edc with the peak field pouch .
Interesting thought of “holiday but not abroad”. Definitely makes you look more closely around the place where you already are.
Definitely! Even the most boring place has something that'd interest someone, it's just about finding it!

Surprised you haven’t commented on the Pen range. Always my go to for an edc. Enjoying your videos, thanks!

Hopefully we can get a GX9ii soon! Pairing that style of body with a little pancake prime like the 20mm would be great to just put in a pocket
Even something like the 12-32mm or the 14-42mm would probably work.

It doesn't have the most pleasing bokeh to be honest - I wonder if the olympus one would have better bokeh?
I would choose the Olympus 12-45 Pro lens
A great choice!
my xt2 with 16-50 plastic lens is my edcgear - always in my backpack!
my smartphone?? - is not with me as often as my camera!
The fuji system are great little cameras!
