    It's important to understand the way these governors work. The ball valve will vibrate off the seat when the frequency of vibrations reaches a specified pitch. Otherwise they are not increasing the amount of fuel set by the High speed mixture screw. Blocking them off wouldn't normally cause any change in behavior unless the engine RPM reaches the point in which the valve is designed to vibrate off the seat. At that point, the governor will allow additional fuel into the high speed circuit causing the RPM to drop which in turn would close the valve. This of course happens very rapidly. You can in fact lean the high speed mixture with the normal adjustment screw to the point that you can seize the engine. As a Homelite employee back in the 1980s, I was preparing saws for a trade show one day and pulled a new 750 out of the box and started it up to check it. Within about 20 seconds it threw the connecting rod because it was too lean and over revved

    Saw sounds good man i think u about got it in it's sweet spot what's the compression read on it I'm dying to know. Lol

      To be honest I do not remember what the compression should be. I will have to check.
