The US is far tilted to the right on the political spectrum that what is considered "moderate" in US is the right outside of its borders . A view from Australia …… there is so much to admire about Bernie Sander’s political perspective which aligns strongly with the left of centre policies that our Labor and Greens parties have here and in Europe. Thank you for your persistence in espousing common sense Bernie. America wastes so much money in supporting the BAU status quo resulting in erratic health provision and educational opportunities. The best is brilliant but many US citizens are left without adequate care and learning opportunities. I am not sure about the depth of understanding that far right American voters have about the term ‘socialist’. It’s perceived as being dangerous and derogatory. Anyone who has travelled to Scandinavian where social equity policies have been in place for decades can see the benefits of high taxation and the redistribution of money towards high class and affordable schools, hospitals, public transport systems, and innovative city design etc etc for everyone to enjoy. As you clearly highlight Bernie, the entrenched US political system only benefits the rich, as well as political lobbyists and companies that are resistant to change.

It's because the Democratic Party chose Hillary over him, even when Burnie had more support from the people. They knew she was a risky choice, but went with her anyway because Bernie was "too far left" for them. This single decision ended up fracturing the Dem Vote into 3 categories. 1: people who always vote D and people who like Hillary, 2: people who were going to vote for Bernie, but felt ripped off so they voted either third party or for Trump as a protest, and 3: People who usually vote D, but chose not to because they either don't like or didn't trust Hillary so they didn't vote at all.

Americans care too much about looks. If he would look like younger Bill Cliton or Mike Pence he would win easily. USA is all about public image.

Bernie's is a very sharp mind, with a firm grasp on the important facts and terrific perspective, wisdom, honesty, empathy, tolerance, pragmatism.. and he is an example of what is known to the science of ethics as an 'incorruptible'. No, power does not necessarily corrupt, but it does tend to magnify personality - and Bernie's is wonderful.

I'm so grateful to Mr Saunders for his intelligence, authenticity and consistency. Stays true to his beliefs that don't change with the polls. This fine man is a role model for a generation of young soon to be politicians around the world. Bringing humanity into Washington. An amazing American and gentleman. I had no idea here in Canada that the poles are that close...and favouring trump?! These are scary times for more than just Americans.

Bernie, I am an African American 88 year old great grandmother and this gives me hope. I have four greats, three boys, one girl, under the age of 15. I grew up under Jim Crow. My dad, an attorney, was an early civil rights activist. I share this because I never thought America would come to this. It's hurting to imagine what life would be like for my grands. My heart breaks for them. But I believe you and hope your vision for America's future will be reality for the sake of my grands. The Dream of God is Justice.
