This is the ultimate approach for the Stones fan/admirer and lover. Never saw a rockumentary done with a compassion even close to this work. Literally incredible. Can't find the right words to express my appreciation. Thanks friend
Well said Peter. I agree, as I watched it myself as a fan. This is what WE all want and need. I was tired of people repeating the same subjects and just not grabbing the audience. Appreciated that you got me delivery here! Hopefully you watch the others I have. cheers
I’m not a fan of everything the RS have done, but your series of videos is the most comprehensive review of their work I have seen. The research and attention to detail is impressive, and your passion for the entire enterprise shines through it all.
thank you GA for your honesty and time to comment. I am glad you sat thru it and absorbed.....I wonder how my attention would be for something similar for another band. Then again, I feel I did go above and beyond to make it enjoyable. thanks !!
maybe one day they will get word of it, as I know they like it when fans go all out. But I do not expect it, and just make it for us. Really glad that you are appreciating the intention here! nice!!
@@SuperStrik9 thank you both!! appreciated. I thought the Black Crowes were going in this direction early in their career, but they missed the boat. oh yea......I love showing and talking about the "not popular" music......we fans ride a different car then the others, it is the true fans that know the how great they are especially these albums. cheers
@@FlipSideCT First 2 Black Crowes albums are great. Songs like Remedy are pure Stones influence. After lead guitarist Marc Ford left the band in the mid 90s I thought their music went downhill. Though that live album they did with Jimmy Page is pretty good. Granted it's more Led Zeppelin than Black Crowes. Another band that blew it was Guns N Roses imo. It goes to show how special a band like the Stones really are.
@@SuperStrik9 Rich Robinson did do some recovery with Magpie. I still bought Chris Robinson Brotherhood albums though, and like the sound there, esp with Neal Casal. I am an Izzy S. fan, not much of the others.
@@FlipSideCT Izzy's cool. You can see the Stones/Keith influence in him. Been watching all of your Stones vids and I really appreciate all the work and effort you put into them. The amount of detail is tremendous.
This is another masterpiece. Just when you think you know it all, you learn something new. Unbelievable. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication. In this crazy world today, It's nice to have an escape for a little while. 🎵🎸🎶🎹🎵🎺🎤🎧🎷🎹
nice Brain, the way it should be. We all feel it! I can not get enough, and listen to each song like it is my first time! thanks for sharing your comments and glad you enjoyed!
that is what made them so special. They did not stay with the same riff same song structure model like other bands I dare not name. They were just born creative! We can not get tired of them!! not a Stones fan at least.
Hey there Steve. I really wanted to compliment you properly on this part two. I wanted to do so without my usual longwinded comment. I came up with this. In the last forty five years plus I have never seen a video on the Stones that was this detailed. You should be proud of yourself. The info that you provided was so darn entertaining. The way that you matched up the info with the photos was top notch. Lets not forget about the editing. The three of them together was first rate to the highest power. Wonderful job Steve. Cannot wait for part three~ Rob/Boston
Hi Rob.....thank you. As I say, I got a bit tired seeing and hearing docs that just do not represent them. correctly. Thankfully I can use my skills to pull it all together. To your point, it is very time consuming to try to match the dialogue to the photo. Sometimes I just have no luck in finding one, and got to be creative. As a little note, any ZEP I show is a tribute to you! cheers my friend!
Not only did we loose the rolling stones drummer today.we lost a great man,a master time-keeper for jazz, rock&roll&theSTONES. A sad day for myself & all of us Fans. - PHILLY DC…..TY steve for letting me post this comment.
Yes DC, he impressed the heck out of me, not just drumming but as a person and no bullshit. I would have loved to had the chance to meet him. But very tough to get close to, private. we all got each other for this! thanks for sharing!!
Well, it is intended for the Stones fan like yourself, and to share and enjoy it together. To much negative on this album, so I am doing my best to squelch doubters and educate some that do not understand it. cheers
@@FlipSideCT I was 15 when this album came out in '76..I read the album review by Barbara Cherone in 'Sounds' music weekly paper and bought the LP..I've never looked back..I was born in Dartford (same hospital as Mick) and lived in the area all my life..I'm a Stones 'diehard', like yourself!..Roll on Pt.3!
My brother got an audition for bassist after Bill Wyman left. He didn't get the gig, but he did spend the day playing with the Stones in New York. He said Ronny was welcoming and a really nice guy. I appreciate the work you put into this series.
thank you for sharing that. that is one great once in a lifetime experience. very cool to have done that. I am not much of a Daryl fan, just not Blues enough
Hi Steve. Just finished watching this about 90 minutes ago. Have to say.. Remarkable. The amount of detail and well.. Just.. Information you have.. That I never was aware of previously in regard of the Stones. It took me a couple hours to watch this. As often I did rewind back 30 seconds or so just to get certain things that you were conveying. I appreciate all the time and energy and effort you put into this.. And thanks so much. This is so well done. Once again your pacing is ideal so the information/story telling can be absorbed. It's terrific.
Great comments, yes it is about me, but more to the fact that YOU understand what I am about and my delivery and content and pacing and editing. All done with purpose and for reason. Did not want anything fast paced, but to allow you to absorb. Rewinding is good, I do that plenty also. I had a handful of basher/posers complain how boring it was, but I slammed them hard and removed them, as they totally do not get it! but you did...TY. check out the others if you have not. cheers and thanks again MCM!
@@FlipSideCT Ok.. So this has been on my mind somewhat on and off. When I say I had to rewind back a bit(I did say often) I meant sometimes. Some times when you mention Keith or Mick or Ronnie my mind will wander off on a tangent for 10 seconds or so.. Then I'll be like.. Ohh I better rewind back because my mind just wandered off. I got what you said clearly.. But just need to rewind back 10 seconds to get it again.
I agree Robert, the 70's were just magical for them. Everything was unique and lyrically the best! Might as throw in all music period being the best in the 70's.
At 26:16 is where you can see the star shaped stage the was revolving , this was on making on Black & Blue part 2. That you so much for all you effort an knowledge & getting ever little detail on this subject. If I wasn't a disabled welder. In my hay day I was bringing a little over $2,200 for welding Aluminum , stainless , & mild steel to make the tractor trailer kitchens for the Olympics in Georgia . I was learning how to weld at 15 & started my first at 17 . This was in 81 when I graduated. I think we are the same age. You texted me that your first Stones concert was in 81. More then likely at a outdoor arena, because you didn't know about the revolving stage. Thank you kindly , Kevin
Thank you LE, so appreciative you commenting and letting me know. That tells me you got RnR in your blood for sure. Glad you get my delivery here, as that is the toughest part to get across to folks. Everyone interprets things so differently, so glad you get it! hopefully you checked out the other docs I have... cheers steve
Great video as always. Black and Blue has to be the most underrated album by The Rolling Stones. Like the previous 5 with Mick Taylor I never skip any tracks on it, unlike the ones released afterwards
Yes MB, you do get it. cool. However, as the melodic playing of Taylor were lost, they still brought on brilliance in their new sounds. Side 2 of Tattoo You is just like no other, even songs on Emotional Rescue. Post 82', they have a real change in their sound that we all hear, and it did not fair with many fans.
I'm from Detroit (blow the reveille)! @Marcelo B @FlipSideCT I *implore you* (die-hard Stones fans) to re-visit 'Voodoo Lounge'. - *'Emotional Rescue':* It _'is-what-it-is'._ - *'Tatoo You':* Universally worshipped. - *'Undercover':* File under _'Strange'._ I personally dug it. But, I can see where others may not. - *'Dirty Work':* It _'is-what-it-is'._ - *'Steel Wheels':* Good album. A few great songs. But, (most importantly) a _'re-birth moment'_ that assured fans they weren't DEAD YET! - *'Voodoo Lounge':* (see below) - *'Bridges To Babylon':* Good album. A few great songs. I personally dug it. But, I can see where others may not. - *'A Bigger Bang':* Good album. A few great songs. - *'Blue & Lonesome':* As _'rock-star-Blues-homage'_ albums go. (think Johnny Winter/Canned Heat/ Aerosmith), this one's right up there. After all; They WERE part of the original (British) _'blues-boy'_ scene. So, guzzle a beer/crack another/hit the doobie/light a candle & (re)listen to 'Voodoo Lounge' in reverse order. - Skip the last (#15) song. - Start w/#14 (a _'Keef-song'_ ). - and move your way up. *You won't regret it!* Peace. @@jellobiafra2810 nice breakdown Dave. From what I can remember, hearing STONES albums for the first times...it always took many listens to get into it and absorb. I believe from Steels Wheels on, many folks have NOT given deep deep listens. I am included. My issue is the Lyrics are very lame and Mick is trying to hard on some songs. It is forced and not from his gut! However I know how good Voodoo is, and best of that bunch. I still need Blue & Lone....and have not heard it. I did not want covers, was / is my reason. I do look forward to it now lol, BLUES BOY! thanks for the recommendations.
thank you Alex for commenting and letting me know. that goes a long way for me, and glad I can provide this as a fan for the fan! keep on watching. Exile STP Tour Part 5 is work in progress now!
I've come to the conclusion that the familial atmosphere and structure surrounding the band contributed mightily to Keith surviving his excesses. He had a lot of people watching out for him. Many of his peers weren't so fortunate.
good point, and yes agreed. Then again.....Keith's sources for drugs were top notch and he only had the best, except for a few dog shit batches when he was desperate. But yes, he had folks around him that cared.
I saw the Ft. Collins CO show, where Elton John infamously got up to play a song, and overstayed his welcome. Rufus and Charlie Daniels opened the show. Elton was in CO to record at Caribou Ranch Studio high in the Rockies, and you could tell Keith was annoyed when he came onstage. The Stones played great! We were loving Ian Stewart's playing - because he played all the old parts we were familiar with, and we loved Billy Preston because his stage presence and playing are so magnetic... but Elton's playing style was just wrong - trying to show-off, he didn't fit in the groove. We were excited when Metamorphosis and Made in the Shade hit, and just loving every second of It's Only Rock and Roll and later Black and Blue when it came out.
VERY COOL Paul.....love it! thanks for sharing. I have PT3 in the making, and Fort Collins is a feature in it. I found some info of someone who taped Mick and Elton talking on the phone prior and wrote the dialog out (not the actual recording). I heard he went all the way to Midnight Rambler.....he did get off for Billy and Ian, but came back on.......I need to hear the boot...Elton did mention and gave the excuse in his memoirs he was coked out. But he asked to join them, they did not ask him. I can remember B&B coming out, that is when I just started my RnR groove. ...76' cheers
Steve: One of the amazing things about youtube is the wealth of well produced videos I stumble on and you are fabulous!!! Great personal memories and in depth stories. i'll be hanging with you for a month to play catch up! Well done, from a guy who first heard the Stones in 1964. .
Hey Dennis great to hear that! I know how much us Stones fans need(ed) something in depth and real, and to walk away from learning something. Glad you found it! Seeing them in 64' is amazing and something not many can say, even if it was screaming teeny girls screaming. Enjoy these and I am trying to keep it going. I am working on Beggars PT2 now, and this one is fun and full of info. thanks for sharing!!
What an excellent insight into this time period of the Rolling Stones - well done, my friend. I cannot wait for Part 3. I must confess that I purchased the vinyl Black and Blue album twice because I wore out the first copy from over-playing. I immediately recorded the second one to tape and tucked it away for safe keeping and posterity!
thanks Roubiac for sharing. appreciate it! Pt 3 will be a bit, going thru major timing issues. Cool that you get B&B and overplayed...the way it should be!
I'm so appreciative of all the hard work, the extensive research & time you put into these videos. It is so important to my education - I even watch them multiple times. It broadens the depth in how I listen to the music. It's obvious that it's a labor of love for you. I thank you so much. 😻
A real pleasure Meg, and I thank you for sharing this with me. Glad to see you appreciate it all. As I mention from a fan for the fan. Exile is being worked on now, and is very deep! thanks

Great to hear EM....exactly my intention. Not many know about what went on, and I felt the need to bring it to life. thank you, hopefully you check out my others. Pt3 is work in progress.
The research you do is top level ... Wayne said in a Guitar Player magazine article in the 70s ('77??), that it was Keith who wanted to stay all English. I'm sure you could find it with your level of research acumen. This was a great album. Ive come to like more over the years. But if you grew up with the Stones, it was a real diversion from what you came to expect. Memory Motel is a great tune and I remember listening to it over and over on an 8-track on the way back from the Jersey shore, lamenting a girl I met on our last night there. I can still conjure up that feeling 46 years later, that is a testament to how great a song that is. That said, I offer up this unpleasant opinion: Unpopular take ~ Leave now if you do not want to be offended!! Ron Wood was the wrong person to choose. It seemed Mick Taylor inspired Keith to aspire higher. When Ron Wood came, I feel he knew he reached the highest he could ever go, and had no impetus to play like he did with the Faces. He lost his drive. He did not play with the intensity of the Faces, and became a cartoon character of Keith. Both of them relished in the new lowered standards and the music suffered. There are clips of Ronnie staggering around on stage, so drunk, he can barely stand up. I feel they went from musicians who did drugs, to druggies who did music. They never got the intensity or musicianship of the Taylor era, back. Maybe they just ran out of material, who knows, but the new era Stones was a very different entity than the previous one. I saw them a few times in the 70s, and I feel '78 tour was shutting the door on that era. This is the new Stones. Despite that, they will always be my absolute go-to band for any occasion. We'll never see this again.
thanks for commenting LW. I did mention that about 'staying english', and is something Keith would say. A great album for sure, and why I had to push it more as there are so many claimed Stones fan that do not get it. They gave us great memories and we can recall places and smells when we heard the songs over and over again. Everyone has there points on the Stones.....but, I will say there is nothing I dislike. The era's are surely different and the 3 guitarists of Brian/Mick/Ron had their contributions in so many ways. We surely hear the sounds change and drift into different directions. I prefer to listen mostly to post 68' , still listen to any. No problem with your opinions or feelings, as long as we all can say "the greatest rock and roll band ever" we are all in sync. cheers
@L.W. Mason I'm from Detroit (blow the reveille)! What do you call the _'Mick Taylor era'?_ The Stones made many R&R and Pop tunes from '64-'67. For the next two years ('68-'69): *They took over the world!* There was practically no Mick Taylor (or Brian Jones) during that period. 'Beggar's Banquet', 'Let It Bleed', & 'TTPD' (more than just a 'greatest hits'). This is what I call: *The Keith Richard Era!* (& Jagger, of course!) *Post-Mick Taylor:* Great songs (Healthy assist: Ron Wood): -'It's Only Rock & Roll'(co write/guitar erased) - 'Hot Stuff' -'Hey Negrita' -'El Macambo '77' set (from 'Love You Live') -'Miss You' -'Beast Of Burden' -'Shattered' -'She's So Cold' -'Start Me Up' -'Heaven' -'Undercover Of The Night' -'She Was Hot' -'Too Much Blood' -'Pretty Beat Up' -'One Hit (To The Body)' -'Mixed Emotions' -'Love Is Strong' -'Flip The Switch' -'Rough Justice' Not sure if I could live w/o these songs. *Wouldn't wanna try!* Peace. Stay Healthy! - Dave B.
I can't count how many times I have become obsessed and gone down the Stones rabbit hole. I actually thought that there was nothing interesting left for me to know about them. Thanks so much for proving me wrong! Each time I have the pleasure of watching one of your documentaries, I'm amazed at the amount of fun and fascinating things that I've learned or the video footage I've never seen. Seriously, the great documentarian Ken Burns needs to give you a job!
lol....your comments are so well appreciated, and I thank you very much for taking the time to tell me. It makes all my hard work worth while. I know that there is so much more info to learn, and I am surely still learning and reading more. There as so many other Stones geeks out there. I am glad you appreciate the content and format I provided, it is all purposely done. I do not think I am as good as Ken for sure, but that is a real sweet comment! TY Hopefully you watch more docs and vids of mine, as it is all about the "turn on" and sharing of info.

@@jellobiafra2810 Thanks for the compliment! Steve inspires me! The cool thing is, just like The Stones themselves, Steve's work will be appreciated by future generations. And perhaps they will also read this and recognize my obvious genius for predicting the future!
First time I saw them London in 76. My friend and I had rubbish seats but noticed empty seats close to the stage and decided to try our luck and were able to blag it for an hour before being ousted. About 5 minutes later Jagger shouted "Aw let's loosen up the effing security in here" and there was a stage rush we included. What a memory!

Thank you Steve for this amazing research and for articulating a real story about how their lives, the tours and the creative process are so intertwined. Just visited the amazing museum exhibition about the band, currently in the Marseille stadium. Unbelievable how B&B is ignored in the whole thing even though it is such a turn in their music and career. Can’t wait for 3/3. Congratulations.
Thank you for the comments.....well appreciated. Very cool that you got to see the exhibition. It is something every fan should be able to see. I did see it in NYC and did a small documentary on it. A great time for them in 75' and many folks just can not grasp the greatness of this album. thanks for all
For anybody obsessed with rock n' roll this really is 1st class content. Imagine being Ron Wood and having to tackle the Stones back catalogue. For a guitarist of Ronnie's caliber it must have been a dream come true. And then the part of getting to hang out with Keith all the time. Ronnie holds a special place in my heart as a guitar player and fun guy in general. Thanks so much for creating these documentaries. They are super fascinating to watch.
thanks so much MJ....appreciate that tremendously. The hard work pays off when I see this comment. Great that you get Ronnie and what he is as a Stone. nice. He is the real deal and down to earth.... (A bit too old to be a father to those young ones, but who is counting). YW, and glad to see the comments from a Super Fan!
To me that I probably mentioned before was the first time I heard " Hey Nagrita" . This song hit me like a ton of Stones. Regie ,blues, jazz ,R n B and a F of a lot of Rock n roll with no abandon .. No song has ever had that ever since . 😎
I'm from Detroit (blow the reveille)! *YES!* (re: 'Hey Negrita') My personal fav from 'B&B'. Those seeking Woody's (Stones) brilliance ala Faces/R.Stewart need look no further. @@FlipSideCT It was definitely a very interesting time for the Stones and thier fans . I'm not I'm a fan ,as being fanatical . I think I just have a lot of respect for thier endurance and them as much a great team as well a great band. The timing prior to Black n Blue risked many of their hardcore and dedicated follower's and change wasn't easy for them and I don't disrespect them for being irritated, but it had to happen. The LP " Some girls " also irritated many because of "Disco " and "Punk " influenced songs . I was into " Punk " prior and at my age many condemned the Stones for that also. I was the opposite and was willing to walk away if they didn't stay current . I was thrilled again and probably defended that LP as much as Black n blue" . Thanks for opening this up for discussion . On my list if stranded with only one LP to play Black n blue has always been at the top of the list . 😎
@@FantomWireBrian appreciated the comments...well taken. They just did not want to be like other bands who kept their same model and sound. I feel, their 90's+ albums were more risk then the earlier....I do not think new fans joined the army for those albums.
@@FlipSideCT You hit that right on . Too many bands played it safe an even did that burning Disco LPs thing. Tom Petty was very outspoken at that time condemning Disco .To me not much different than censorship. Tom was a very talented guy and I saw him live ,but I did lose some respect for him . It was ironic that he himself was censored on one of his tunes. You mentioned how the Stones took risks and as in music and life that's very appealing to me . Probably why the Stones during that time were considered " The most dangerous band in Rock n Roll " 😜❗
Hi Steve from Wales. Another great video. A lot of information I did not know. Remember the photo of them playing on the flat bed truck. It was my 21st birthday. Looking forward to part three. Thanks for all the effort.

Your documentaries just rock! Big Stones fan here, but there is so much detail in your work that I have never heard of. I really like the period from roughly 76-81, lots of good music and important stuff happened. I always liked Black and Blue, too. Thanks!

so much debauchery and yet magnificent music created. Take note Aerosmith who's music deteriorated, for me at least, when Perry and Tyler got 'straight'. Yet again Steve a superb and very professional sounding video that showcases your love for the band...many congrats!
Thank you again Sir BS. As we know those early 70's bands emulated them and followed the model. Was Drugs the "key" for creativity? The 70's were above and beyond with music......I believe it did impact the industry. We would smoke and love to get creative doing so. thanks for all!!
There's definitely something to be said about drugs and creativity. They can definitely open creative avenues you may have not explored otherwise. It only becomes a problem when the drugs start to become more important than the music and the band.
I'm from Detroit (blow the reveille)! *Yup!* It's there alright! Dope/Creativity. The Hard Stuff (not coke). The problem is: Artists who survive & come out the other side tend to play it down. The Metamorphosis album is a good album, Downtown Susie, Jiving Sister Fanny. Memo from Turner, Walking thru the sleepy city. Thank you Aze, so glad you are a Stones fan that can appreciate what I gave here, and realize the greatness of this album. We can just shake our heads at those that disagree, cheers
@@FlipSideCT do you think Ron wood was best pick to replaced MT in my opinion he jus bought little buddy appeal your opinion i will respect it thank yuo
@@jamiecamarillo1995 Many folks feel he was brought in as a little buddy/good guy. They fist off needed an English guitarist. I think he was perfect. The Faces sound is so close to the Stones. The chemistry was so important, and Keith felt it, especially jamming with him in 74', many times. Ronnie is an exceptional guitarist, but not the straight lead melodic player as MT. So the sound surely changed. He was to be a role player, but to add his style. I can not think of any other player that would match what they needed.
This is a wonderful video. I have to disagree with you though about the transformation of Mick Jagger's stage act. In the late 70s it was okay. But it really became obnoxious. And he started to overdo the inflection of his voice.
thanks Kevin for sharing and commenting! That is fine to disagree. I am a no frills old school. He got carried away with some of it, and forgot that this RnR. So you also do agree. His free form dancing is not what I pay for. I will also throw in, it is he who adds in the stage props....I do not need to see another blow up doll ever again. I do go a bit hard in PT3 on him, and I feel deservingly so. But please know again, Keith was 95% RnR music, Mick was a business ART DIRECTOR machine, and lost it! However, with all this said, I will Cover My Ass and say I will still take any of it any time!

Easily THE BEST, without question, THE BEST in depth Rolling Stones documentaries ever! Only problem I'm having watching and listening is I'm so "into it" that I've pulled out one of my Fender Telecasters, tuned to 'open G' and playing 'Hand of Fate' while trying to not miss a second of this doc. WELL DONE.
LOL Michael, that is the power of the Stones. I do the same! it is moving for sure! I heard this comment before, a very high compliment, and love it!! Thank you
@@FlipSideCT Lol, don’t interrupt me, I’m still tryna finish watching it while playing along on my guitar:) What’s crazy is.., I’m 52, I’ve been obsessed with, researching, collecting and archiving The Stones (as well as The Who, Beach Boys..., Sabbath..., ) researching these bands since I was 9-10 years old.?? I now consider myself an expert (The Who first, Stones 2nd...).., where I can recite from memory facts, dates and histories of these bands better than I can recall events from my own life. You’re documentary series(s) on The Stones are the first I’ve watched in 10-20? years that have so much “new” to offer as far as marrying period correct vintage footage (I thought I’d seen it all) with factually correct “deep” info as opposed to the ‘gloss and hype’ docs that are all the rage. You’re editing is superb, you’re narrative approach is calming and engaging, allowing the story to breathe as well as allowing the viewer to ‘mentally’ participate instead of feeling as if he’s being lectured..., you’re sound levels are spot on as well. I would do something like this for The Who if I had your skills..., sadly you’ve set the bar too high. Can’t imagine the time, work and effort involved. Short version is I’ve seen every commercially available and homemade doc on this band since I was a little boy..., and you’re producing award winners for fans like me that just NEED TO KNOW things like..., ‘Oh.., OK so Keef used Mcawber on 5th ave in 1975.., whew’ . Thanks
@@michaelr4063 @Michael R lol.....nice comments and sharing! so you are RnR geeky, and love to turn folks on to music and info, and so tired of the crap that people have put out there. Sounds like me....yup. Know it! I would love to see a Who version like this. that would be great. I have thought of doing a live class on how to approach and make these docs. the main ingredient is getting a timeline down of the events, and "a fan" is the one to do it. I am not fortunate of a good memory.....but like you said, some of the facts just sticks. Like I can ridiculously remember where I bought my vinyl records. cheers, oh, yea, I was shocked Keith brought out Macawber in the rainy weather.
correct.....it will not be the same...even losing Bill changed their studio sound. But we still go with what we got. A reason they are called the greatest! thanks for commenting
Hello Steve; An outstanding continuation of the Black & Blue documentary. Pieced together in chronological order explaining in the best way possible how the events unfolded. Telling the story with a revolving door of personal, until the desired group was chosen & unleashed on a receptive audience. The documentary as presented tells the tale of exactly how this tour came to be. The interloping stories of each band member, their wives, girlfriends & acquaintances along for the ride. The focus on Ronnie from his starting point in the band continuing right thru the tour is well explained. The building, lighting, overall costs of the stage, & moving it from venue to venue. There is no way to fully realize the amount of time it takes to properly document this entire process, a true labor of love. As before, well done. On to part 3, all the best. Tina & Pat!~
what can I say Tina.....coming from the RnR team of T&P.....I love it! TY!!!! thanks for being on top of it and recognizing the little things!! yes, all purposely thought out..!! cheers to my fav duo!
Man **** This video is the best musical documentary I have ever seen.... I mean the way you break-down the gear that they were using is fantastic work !! I really did not want to see it end !! Thank You very much. All your hard work on this is greatly appreciated !!
Can't wait for Part 3!! I've watched all your Stones documentaries so far and they're all brilliant. Thanks for putting them together, all the work going into them is evident.
Thank you JC....so cool you can appreciate all these, as I take extreme pride in my work and when I hear this, it makes it worth while for me when other RnR fans like me get it! thanks for all!!
OMG...how do you just keep making these all progressively BETTER and BETTER?!!? I can't wait to see part 3!! I bought my ticket yesterday to see the Stones here at the New Orleans JazzFest in October. Can't wait to party with the boys one more time!! Keep up the excellent work, I know it is a lot of hard work....it is VERY much appreciated by all of your viewers!!

Great material once again and brings back great memories. Really appreciate your love and respect for the Stones and for putting these Docs together! Well done once again!
a pleasure Paul, coming from a rocker that got felt their power! Thanks, got to keep the Stones flow going and turn on folks who are part timers. cheers
Superbly well done. Wonderfully paced. The narration is refreshing--no "quirky" verbal posturing drawing attention to itself, but rather a laid back conversational tone. I know a fair amount about The Stones, but many details in Parts 1 & 2 were new to me, along with lots of archival photos I'd never seen before. This documentary is a great pleasure indeed. Looking forward to Part 3. CHEERS
Eric, what I can say and praise you is for being a cool RnR'er and Stones head to pick up on this! This is all intended for folks like you! thanks for sharing and letting me know. PT3 is work in progress now. check out the other docs, I am sure you will enjoy them!
Thanx for creating this great docu. This album is the last Stones album I love from beginning to end. Would love to have seen them explore the funk and reggae style more.
nice! thanks! It was a perfect time for this album, and they gave us brilliance! Wish many others could realize it. But many could not handle them doing those different genre's. Anything they were doing just worked! yes, you are right.
@@Bananenbennie I will say this, The great thing about the Stones is, they change with the times and do not sit with the same model. Bowie was similar. There are bands like AC/DC or Aerosmith and others that keep their same model and sound to appease fans. A big difference.
@@FlipSideCT I have to agree with you on that. I think Jagger - just like Bowie - was always searching for a new approach. Keith was probably a bit more conservative.
nice to hear Will, thanks for commenting. I have many viewers that tell me how this brings them back into that time period and relive and step thru their feelings and moments again, so that is cool and a great compliment. cheers.

Another band that blew it was Guns N Roses imo. that is what made them so special.
Cannot wait for part three~

Hi Rob.....thank you. As I say, I got a bit tired seeing and hearing docs that just do not represent them. correctly. Thankfully I can use my skills to pull it all together.
I got what you said clearly.. But just need to rewind back 10 seconds to get it again.

At 26:16 is where you can see the star shaped stage the was revolving , this was on making on Black & Blue part 2. Yes MB, you do get it. cool. However, as the melodic playing of Taylor were lost, they still brought on brilliance in their new sounds. thank you Alex for commenting and letting me know. that goes a long way for me, and glad I can provide this as a fan for the fan! keep on watching.
Thank you so much for this labor of love!
Thanks for doing the 3 part series. Black & Blue is special, it has a groove and vibe that resonates with me. Brilliant documentary!

That said, I offer up this unpleasant opinion:
Unpopular take ~ Leave now if you do not want to be offended!!
No problem with your opinions or feelings, as long as we all can say "the greatest rock and roll band ever" we are all in sync. cheers
@L.W. Mason

What do you call the _'Mick Taylor era'?_
The Stones made many R&R and Pop tunes from '64-'67.
For the next two years ('68-'69):
*They took over the world!*
There was practically no Mick Taylor
(or Brian Jones) during that period.
'Beggar's Banquet', 'Let It Bleed', & 'TTPD' (more than just a 'greatest hits').
This is what I call: *The Keith Richard Era!*
(& Jagger, of course!)
*Post-Mick Taylor:*
Great songs (Healthy assist: Ron Wood):
-'It's Only Rock & Roll'(co write/guitar erased)
- 'Hot Stuff'
-'Hey Negrita'
-'El Macambo '77' set (from 'Love You Live')
-'Miss You'
-'Beast Of Burden'
-'Shattered'
-'She's So Cold'
-'Start Me Up'
-'Heaven'
-'Undercover Of The Night'
-'She Was Hot'
-'Too Much Blood'

I heard Jagger comment about being an English band. Funny about Keith, since his family is from Wales.

@@FlipSideCT I am! Thanks for all your work. I love ❤ your videos:)

Probably why the Stones during that time were considered " The most dangerous band in Rock n Roll " 😜❗

so much debauchery and yet magnificent music created.

At Cleveland Stadium; Me & John were bringing in a cooler with 2 cases of beer.
My plan was to bribe security with $5.
It didn't work ( _shoulda used a $20_ ).
While they're removing our beer; John asked if we could sell it to the folks outside the fence.
Security said: "Yeah, go ahead."
_(it was a lotta beer!)._
While doing the deal, I noticed security wasn't watching us anymore.
So, we *'likety-split'* with about 1 1/2 cases *still left!* Remember: This was in the _'No-Alcohol-Sold'_ days.
We enjoyed a very hot afternoon as the only ones among 80k+ who had beer!
(When we were walking around) People would offer us a dollar for _"..whatever's left in the can."_
"No way, man!"
We DID share with our neighbors though.
Then, The J. Geils Band did their set, which was met with apathy from the crowd. 😥
Us ( _Dee-troiter's_ ) felt personally insulted!
"Ok, Ok. This is a Stones crowd." (we said).

Thanks BB for letting me know, appreciated. As you know, how great the album is, it is disappointing how many do not!
