I’ve been doing these exercises for a couple of weeks now and today my mother looked at my walking and said: Your walking looks much better! That’s was a great comment, thank you very much for these exercises!!
Its great provided you have some form of functionality in the leg and foot, but when you dont have basic functionality it makes the exercises incredibly difficult.
While my videos are designed for those with MS in mind, the strategies and techniques shared are also beneficial for those who have been diagnosed with stroke, rheumatoid arthritis, and parkinsons.
That is a difficult question to answer without a proper evaluation, however these exercises will both increase strength in the muscles as well as increase neuroplasticity to strengthen current neural pathways OR find brand news ones.
Lifting your toes is not a sure sign that foot drop wouldn't occur. But, having the ability to lift your toes properly is definitely a big factor in helping prevent foot drop.
Helping prevent foot drop? I had perfect mobility. I played soccer for decades. I could do anything with my toes, my feet, my legs. Then one morning I woke up and foot drop was there. Just like that. No amount of prevention helped. No trauma, no illness, no stroke, no chemo, no ingesting toxic chemicals...no explanation... @@DoctorGretchenHawley

@DoctorGretchenHawley thank you for replying 😊
Dr G. What do you think about the night time sleep straps for gently stretching the calf. My masseuse mentioned that I should try it?
I've had a few clients use them and found them to be useful. Worth a shot and see how it feels!

Is my footdrop caused by weak muscles or by a non functioning nerve to activate these muscles? If so, what can I expect from exercising the muscles?
