+itszaaaamzeh I think that's sad, because Stephen amell could embody green arrow, but they made him so much like batman, for so long if they made him more like the comic character it wouldn't make much sense
I know why can't the cw just hit back harder like they did in season 2. and after seeing this it only makes me realize that the writers have to be the laziest people on the planet.

Can't believe they never included the moment where Green Arrow kills Prometheus in the Cry for Justice miniseries. That was like one of the best Green Arrow moments ever!
+TF FOC Dinobots Because Cry for Justice is a very panned miniseries, a lot of people didn't like the story when it came out and they like less the consequences for the Arrow family.
spiderbatman97 Oh I see. I honestly liked it. I thought that Roy's arm getting maimed was quite interesting too. Besides, they were the very first DC comics that got me into DC comics, so it has a special place in my heart. I like other comics a lot better, but the Cry for Justice mini-series is special to me. :)
He killed him in cold blood. Sent him to a forest to fight crime Hero rule do not kill. Now we have a lot of anti heroes who do not care

None of Jeff Lemire's run made the list? He practically did for Green Arrow what Geoff Johns did for Green Lantern.
No he didn't. Yes his 3 arcs were good but they were only so good because of all the trash that new 52 GA was. His Issues were a breath of fresh air but they didn't bring in anything ground breaking to The Green Arrow Mythos like Geoff did for green lantern. The Geoff of GA would have to Be either Judd Winnick or Mike Grell

+Magalinnda Clavien Season 1 and 2 great 3 and 4 ehhh not so much. but 5 they are supposedly going back to the roots of the show, returning to the dark gritty crime drama with a superhero twist, season 4 although had its ups and down, i feel like olicity and the death of BC really killed it for me personally. but Green Arrow is my favorite hero so ill always be down for redemption and if season 5 is going to bring it, GAME ON!

+Magalinnda Clavien CW has some fantastic work, i believe this is their final straw if this season is bad its probably going to cancel the show. Im fairly sure they want to keep Arrow in their hands, its the show that kicked off the whole DC CW collection of shows. Always keep high hopes for a show you love even its going down hill you can always hope for a better season.

Great list! I've read all of these but the first GA comics story I every read was the one listed at #1, issues 66-68. So when is DC going to get around to giving us a GA animated movie based on any of these wonderful "best of GA" lists DC keeps putting out? I want my Hard Traveling Heroes animated movie DC! I'm getting tired of nothing but more Batman.

I've read exactly half of the stories highlighted here. I echo the sentiments of fellow GA fans about the decline in quality of the ARROW TV show since season 2. Beyond the really crowded amount of characters on the show, the overbearing Felicity plots, questionable story decisions (e.g. death of Black Canary), and the pilfering of other DC villains not typically associated with GA, I gave up regularly watching it.
CW arrow is nothing like comic book green arrow, but I still love the show haha. I honestly think the worst thing they could have done was kill laurel, but with this CW Flashpoint that's going to happen anything is possible.
Arrow season 1 was like Green arrow longbow hunters series becouse it was more dark and he killed people so Arrow season 1 was more like Green arrow than the other seasons.
It's a redemption story
Not even close to being a list of the best GA stories. Where's the one where Oliver finds out Roy Harper is a drug addict? How about when he accidentally kills a man and then retreats to a monastery to find peace? The retelling of his origin, by Mike Grell i believe, where he had a chance to catch the embezzler who stole his money and be able to get it all back, only to be forced to choose between saving the guy from drowning or save the bag with the documents from sinking? Spoiler: he chose to save the guy, but decided he's actually happier with his new life than the old. That's only a few off the top of my head. There's a lot of stories better than most of the ones in the video.

Connor Hawke is NOT Green Arrow. He filled the role temporarily, but he's far from the real thing.

I am so glad that Black Canary & Green Arrow´s Weeding isn’t in this list. Because every writer and Black Canary´s fans hate their marriage.
so are they going to do anything for 75 years of Green Arrow or was the hardcover collection book really all they gave us? if that's the case then it was quiet disappointing

Hard Traveling Heroes is my favorite run of GL. I grew up in the 80's reading my dad's DC comics from the 70s and these were among my favorites.
i LOVED blood of the dragon... one of the few back issues i went out of my way to collect

Arrow needs to have a season doing The Green Arrow/Green Lantern stuff . that would be some incredible TV.
Night Olympics looks awesome. Klaus Janson's art is so characteristic that i didn't even think anyone else had drawn that story.
I like comic Prometheus, I wish he was used more, he was really good and original (I think) in the show though

Shado could have been a great villain. But on the Arrow TV show she was nothing compared to how deadly she was in the comics.

Did Shado dirty. . She was tough but was killed. Did Black Canary dirty. Felicity was his main girl. Should have just banged her and moved on Horrible. Shado was a beat in comics

Jeff Lemires run isn't that great. it's good but I think it seems better than it is because nearly everything else new 52 GA sucks.
The current run on green arrow by Benjamin Percy is amazing though
Ben Percy is good, but Jeff lemires run is exactly what everyone has eveyone has ever wanted from green arrow ,
+Derek Green ehhh. it's good don't get me wrong but I think it's a bit over rated in the whole big picture. His run was fun and there was plot twists left and right but the art was very average and some of the action panels were very sloppy. Idk its good don't get me wrong but it doesn't have that oliver queen feel. (mostly because he's a kid at that point) It's a great coming of age type story but I wouldn't say it's a must read for green arrow
As a long time green arrow fan, I would probably say that I prefer stories done by Mike Grell the most out of all of the authors. The action became a little more brutal, the villains weren't over the top colorful villains but rather mob bosses, murderers, Pedophiles, Racists, Homo-phobics, and at times the american government.
The story arcs where mostly two or three issues long, with a well paced story, very little fluff, and some great dialog, amazing action scenes, and great character development.
These books are also some of the first to cover men being taken advantage of sexually, the way it affects their careers, relationships and friendships in a negative way, and so much more.
+Aaron Shanahan I pretty much agree with everything you said. Grells Run on green arrow was just so gritty, the art was ahead of its time and like you said, villains weren't always big bad guys trying to take over the world they were just real life-like bad guys. However I do think Grells run was as good as it was because he didn't really hand any continuity restrictions. His Run was part of DC's adult line at the time and he didn't need to really be bothered by an entire universe of stuff that he had to keep up with. which is why I don't knock those like Kevin Smith And Judd winnikck for those stories being more superhero like. (Plus Mia Dearden is my preferred speedy and probably favorite sidekick in all of comics)
Whenever I hear people mention Jeff Lemire's run i think "yeah it's good I guess" but it wasn't THAT good. Plus most all the art was god awful.
Ben Percy's current run is actually pretty great too. If he sticks with the series for a long time I think he'll easily become a fan favorite for the character.

My fave green arrow story would have to be hunter's moon which took place right after longbow hunters but before blood of the dragon. Truly great stuff. I also love the Jeff Lemire run from the new 52 that was volumes 4-6. Also really great stuff. Currently waiting for the first volume of green arrow rebirth
