  • A Ryanair flight and a cheap apartment = a wonderful weekend in Milan, Italy (even if it did rain for most of the weekend)
We didn't intend to be there for Milan Fashion Week but it was very much a happy accident as it was so cool seeing the city come alive with the event.
Milan is such a walkable city that it's easy to hop from one place to the other and take in all the sights. We did jump on the hop on hop off bus for our last day as it was torrential rain and we had all our stuff with us, which was also a cool way to see parts of the city.
As always we did a walking tour when we first arrived (self guided this time) via ‪@GetYourGuide‬. it's our favourite thing to do in a new city as it helps us get our bearings and there are always a few hidden treasures that you wouldn't have found otherwise!
Highlight for me was 100% Duomo, in particular The Terraces - if you only do one thing during your trip to Milan this needs to be it. Make sure you get the upgrade for the Terraces as it is an experience not to be missed!
We stayed in an apartment near Cadorna Train Station which was a perfect location for us - close to the castle and in walking distance to everything we wanted to see. The tiny doors into the complex were very amusing to us as well!
Accomodation: Milan Retreats Cadorna Duomo (‪@bookingcom‬)
This is the second city I've visited in Italy and it's only made me want to visit more - I'm sure there will be many more trips in the future!
