Hi there, this is one of the best videos we have watched preparing for our own Milan and Lake Como trip. Simple to follow and good references. We are wondering if you purchased a transit pass for the time you were there and what are your recommendations for prepurchase for trains and public transit. Thanks!
Thank you! Yes we bought our train tickets in advance for the longer journeys. This was via the official ItaliaRail website (like journey from Milan to Venice or so). For the Lake Como part, we rented a car from Milan which was pretty cheap. We dropped it back in Milan airport before flying out 😊. You can also get to Como City by train from Milan though!
I went to Milan this year to watch the Italian Grand Prix. We arrived early on the Thursday so I booked a food making class. We were chatting to our instructor about Milan and what to do and see here and she dead ass said, “Milan is no good for tourists, other than the Duomo I don’t know why anyone would choose to come here when there are so many other places to go in Italy.” 😂 Anyway, we stayed until the Wednesday and I can concur. There’s literally no reason to visit Milan for multiple days on a city break. A day is fine, but beyond that there’s nothing to see or do. The city as a whole is not geared towards tourists at all like Paris is, for example. It would a bit like (if you’re from the UK, like I am) deciding to spend £1500.00 to spend a long weekend in Birmingham. Yes, there will be something to see, but you don’t need to spend 5 days there. You will be bored.
Just one thing: the arch is not the "Triumphal arch" but the "Arch of peace", since Napoleon was defeated while it was being built, so “triumph” then became “peace” ;-). Then, thx for this video !
If you are using public transport with no issues and only want to see the outside than one full day is enough to see most of attractions. If you want to visit museums, do shopping and go to the lake for at least one full day than 3-4 days is a good amount of time. If you want to go slow and enjoy than you can take a full week. Make sure to not go during interio design week in April prices get crazy
Too much overpriced designer junk. To have real style you need to mix with vintage, things you find for nothing. Its not about labels its about understanding history, I mean knowing your fabrics, different art movements etc., then your style will come together. You won't look like a label victim, you will present something interesting, and it will have your own voice.
Yep, went for the F1 last weekend and booked a few days either side. We did a cooking class and the girl there straight up said Milan is not for tourists, there is Duomo, but that’s it. If you want to see Italy, don’t come to Milan 😂. Anyway, after spending the Monday and Tuesday after the race there, I concur.
THANKS FOR SHARING👍🏿
You're welcome! 😄
The best itinerary to follow in Milan. Thank you. It was very helpful.
Thank you! 🙏

What time of the year did you go? We are visiting Milan, Genoa/Cinque Terre and Venice at the end of August. Wondering if it's warm.
Yes it should be nice and warm then! We were there at the beginning of May.

Agreed with above! The highlights of the city center can be visited within a day as they’re all very close to one another 😊

Cute
I read on Chinese social media saying there's nothing to see in Milan. I think they don't know how to appreciate art & culture here
This video has convinced me that Milan has nothing to offer besides Lake Como and Verona.

Those who say Milan got nothing know nothing about traveling.
Ja
Those rooftop bars are not authentic or cultural. They're cookie cutter cringe.
