Is this my favourite European city? Copenhagen, Denmark
Come with us as we spend three days in this vibrant city and subsequently fall in love with it.
After a very late flight, we arrived at Copenhagen airport and jumped straight on the train to the city centre. It was great walking to our hostel in the middle of the night as we got a first glimpse of the city while no one was around! We checked into our CityHub pod (I loved this hostel so much) and went straight to sleep ready for our first day of exploring.
We started the morning with a 'build your own' breakfast at Mad Cafe, which was delicious but also gave us our first look into how expensive the city is!
Copenhagen is a very walkable city but also has an amazing metro system. So it is very easy to see the sights and get from place to place. We spent a couple of hours walking around looking at the buildings, sitting in the King's Gardens, and enjoying a boat ride from Nyhaven (this is the well known colourful building area)
While this area is nice and there are a few food options, it is very touristy so make sure to see other areas too.
Unfortunately Tivoli Gardens had just closed when we arrived so we will have to go back to visit it as it looked amazing... such a shame right?!
A highlight from this day was heading over the water to Reffen. Apart from the amazing collection of street food vendors, there is a skate park, seating along the water and on the man made beach, a photobooth, and even fire pits that are lit as the temperature starts to drop. It's such a cool place with a chilled out vibe and we could have easily spent the rest of the evening there. We also managed to catch a gorgeous sunset as we were walking back.We got the Metro to the Meatpacking District for a few drinks then walked back to CityHub.
The weather drastically changed on day two of our trip and continually rained all day. We visited the lego shop and climbed up The Round Tower which is a great way to see the city from a different perspective.
We then spent a few hours in Ikono. This is an interactive space with various exhibitions to walk through and explore. It was so fun seeing all the different sections with some more surprising than others! The ball pit was a firm favourite but we also tried light painting, walked through lanterns, and jumped on a giant tongue.
After getting a late lunch at the market, we went to Bastard Cafe, a board game space with both free and paid to play games. It was the perfect spot to spend an hour or two while the rain continued. We met up with some friends and had an amazing meal at a Nepalese pop up then headed back to the hostel.
Our final day in Copenhagen was mostly spent at The Carlsberg Experience. Even as someone who doesn't enjoy beer, this was such a cool museum. It was interactive and informative, and we got to meet some baby horses and sample the beer at the end. The original Elephant Tower statues are just around the corner and the Carlsberg Research Labatory is opposite so you can really see the whole story of the place.
After another delicious lunch at Admiralgade 26, we managed to catch the last hour of opening at the Glyptotek. It is free to enter on the last Wednesday of every month so we timed it well but it is worth a visit even if you pay to enter.
And so that brings us to the end of our trip. We had the best few days in a gorgeous city, ate some amazing food and as a formentioned, fell in love with Copenhagen, Denmark.

Glasgow - Scotland's largest city and home to a plethora of street art, shopping, and activities My first visit to Glasgow was in 2022 on the way to the Highlands for our annual Scottish road trip. Cairngorms National Park: Scotland Road Trip 2024 - Campervan Edition

Every year we do a Scotland road trip - usually in a car with a boot full of stuff and a small tent for wild camping. This year we hired a campervan for the first time, packed our oodies, and hit the road. Just noticed in the video, when you show the skylift going up it’s in reverse as the cars on the road are going backwards and at the end when it’s coming down it’s also in reverse as the people are walking backwards away from the lift 😂😂

You will be absolutely fine on P&O. On Celebration evening everyone does dress up but there are a few areas on the ship that you will be still be allowed in if you don't dress up! I loved our first cruise, definitely worth a try 🛳
We were there it was a great day but how on earth have you managed to stay looking so fresh in a jumoer? It was sooooo hot 😂
@user-pj9vh6qm7l aw amazing! It was so good. It was a thin-ish jumper but oh my goodness I was boiling 😂
Is the thursday worth the extra £50?
@lizziewalker3950 I think it depends if there are acts you want to see on the Thursday. If not there was still lots of space in the campsites and a lot of people arrived first thing in the morning on the Friday.
If you could only do the skylift or the glacier trip which would you do?
That is a tough question. On a clear day the skylift is spectacular and is more relaxing than the glacier walk. I think it depends how much you want to see the glacier as you don't get much time to spend there compared to the skylift.
Thank you. I guess its less about the glacier & more about the views and proximity to them. I keep changing my mind. Thanks for your reply.

4 o clock in the morning and yippee I can send a comment but what can I say except what a fantastic amazing place well put together I love it xxxxx
Yay! It was such an incredible place, we loved it! Thank you x
We weren't impressed. The Food in the Freedom restaurants with waiter service was very poor IMO, mostly cold or lukewarm food (if you're lucky) not good quality on the whole, hard potatoes, bland food etc. We had a sit down breakfast with waiter service once, they brought cold/hard toast to the table followed by barely like warm scrambled eggs on toast. Just awful on the whole, the Horizon buffet was actually a better option for food, but on holiday you want the table service. We had to pay for speciality restaurants to get a decent meal. Sindu restaurant was nice & we had delicious steaks at the Keel & Cow, the Epicurean I thought was disappointing. Entertainment was OK, theatre shows not our cup of tea , we like the traditional broadway type shows you get on other cruise ships. We enjoyed the Rock Show but on the whole the feeling was the entertainment team was doing what they wanted & not what the majority of the customers would like. Didn't see the X Factor guy signing so can't comment on that. They had a live band that played in the 711 club, it was a nice way to spend 45 mins in a dit down venue. Marella does much better entertainment from our experience. The first time we tried P&O, we wouldn't go back
I imagine we will slowly make our way around different cruise lines to compare 😂 we loved Norway so might try Princess next around the different ports!
