As long as you are aware of that little thing that hits beneath the surface but don’t let on you are aware of it it can be a good way to peacefully shut them down by making them feel vulnerable enough to run away casually. Be very careful though because if they become aware of what you are doing and they get you to voice it, they will go scorched earth on you rather than flee.
