Hey Mike get Aaron a PULSE-SPRAY arc MIG for that heavy plate! Stonger faster BETTER for heavy plate...use the old MIG for light plate and sheet steel. Love Dirt Pefect Channel!
Never a dull moment with equipment modifications. The true test will be in the field! The DP & MBTS shenanigans are on another level after a long vacation. Gotta get back into the family friendly youtube groove! 🤣🤣 It doesn't matter who owns the equipment, if Jerry is operating it, he won't hesitate to lecture the others about the damages they do. He takes pride in all of the equipment, a quality of a seasoned operator!
Nice work guys. Welding is something I wish I had learned when I was young, but back in the late 60s & 70s girls were actively discouraged from learning men's work. I admired the pioneers who did forge forward, but I wasn't one. I know I could learn now, but at almost 70 years old I'm just gonna sit back and watch experts. Like Aaron & you, Mike. This was a really fun video to watch. Thanks for bringing us along.
I'm be for your generation and although we had the privilege of having a wood in metal shop in high school, we were also discouraged in subtle ways. I try not to let age be used as a marker to not accomplish learning something new everyday and putting it to practice
Shops vids are some of the best adventures! Your IG posts let the cat outta the bag on the next mad-max project. Can’t wait to see it in action. Thanks for sharing DP!
I appreciate you not going into too much detail about LT Dan. I’m in the process of playing “catch up on your channel” since I’m so late to the game. I’ve made it to the part where you and MBTS got to take it for the first test drive since the frame extension. For the record, I even got my wife hooked on your channel, and we watch every day after I get home from work. We love the relationship you have with everyone. It’s very refreshing.
Good morning from the Uk 11:23 am Mike and Aaron was getting bored and ya'll drop another stonking vid having tea and biscuits/cookies for the Americans 😅 the shop vids and the equipment auction ls and new machines are my favourite 😅
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Shop days being creative are always interesting and entertaining. Wishing you and your family the best.
Howdy Mr. Dirt, Shop projects are always the best! Repair, improve, & fabricate! Awesome teamwork! Remember DP - those of us that watch your 'other' program already know what the mystery project is! You showed it in the podcast.....remember! Great video! Thumbs up Safety first! Jim
I would like to see that thing.Come out of there with the words that it'd be fun to watch.I know you got it handled but I still think it'd be fun to watch you.Get it out of that position in the shop to the outside of the shop
You might try to find some pictures of the log trucks used in the west. There is a cable loop on the trailer used to lift them on and off the truck. A number of ferrules are spaced along the loop to keep loader grapples from destroying the cable.
You guys do some mighty fine fabrication and Aaron has got some mad welding skills...like how you Invision what you need and without the aide of a modern CAD system you two knock it out. Truly impressive and cool content to boot. Appreciate you sharing your day with us.😎🛠️🇺🇸👍👨🔧🚜
If Man Behind the Hood is a Boiler Maker, then he's running game on you, because he should know how to layout anything he needs to, and a compound offset isn't difficult to do. He should also know how to braid wire rope too, as I was taught that back in the 70's in apprenticeship as far as layout, and the different methods to get the dimensions needed to layout such things. Twisting wire rope is something we learned in the field to repair chokers, and we practiced on making lanyards for our lunch boxes and coffee thermos. To make them easy to carry to and from parking lots that always were like a mile away from the jobs on the old coal fired power plants, and hydro electric plants. Of course you'll always have a Golden Arm Wonder, that says his job is welding, but every hand is trained to do everything required to do the trade. My grand dad and his brother were boiler makers, my ole man, his two brothers, my brother n law who was the president of the local and welding instructor for number of years My brother, and myself all worked in the trade. My brother n law, and I are only two left out of the rest alive now, and we're both retired him in Alabama, and NE Texas myself. I'll send Wally the link, and see what he says bout that little fella's fast one he pulled on you. Either way got it done in a timely manner, and that's all that matters
In this day and age there is no longer any repair allowed on lift straps or chokers. Too much liability for insurance and OSHA. Splicing eyes and rope work is pretty much limited to the Scouts. That's where I learned to do eyes and terminate lines.
@@kenore4003 yeah OSH!T always has made getting work done safely more difficult by double lanyards, and no free climbing steel when you're tying in steel connections. Plenty of other things they really tie your hands at while doing other things that you have to do, but takes three times as long, because everyone is tripping over each other because of two tie offs at all times when there's no room to work as it is. Nothing against safety big supporter of that, and run many years accident free. But when you need freedom of movement by everyone right on top of each other because that's what has to be done. Then they're adding additional risk of multiple personal getting injured for doing the job the hardest way possible. That's where it gets to me, and then you have your own safety man, and the owners safety personnel that typically aren't supplied with enough common sense to wipe their own backside without getting their hands dirty. That's another problem on top of everything else, and by that I mean. If you step back to wipe your face and eyed clean the sweet off your safety glasses. They want to write the men up for not wearing their glasses, but don't take into consideration that they can't see, because it's 130 plus degrees, and sweat is pouring out of them, and they can't see for the burning salt in their eyes. That's more BS, and I've seen brand new chokers fail because the crimped collar wasn't put on properly. I've never seen a hand braided choker fail, because it acts like a pair of Chinese finger cuffs, and the harder it's pulled on, the tighter it gets upon itself. So yeah I know but he's old enough to know how to do it I'd bet supper on it. As to whether or not he'd admit to knowing that doubtful, as he's a golden arm, but he never should have used the torch if he's a welder, because that's a fitters job. LOL So he let himself be known that he's more than capable of doing it all.
People don’t say this enough. It is not just family friendly it is those of us it’s just really don’t care we like to think we’re just not in the barnyard anymore we have shoveled our share of manure pitchfork loaders and spread the stuff. Thank you for making these videos enjoyable
My son (8 years old) has not leard englisch jet. So he recognised that aron says "year" very offen. He counted 124 in this Video while watching it with me. Love your videos, greatings from germany
You 2 are fun to watch. Always making something to make work easier. I havent watchhed to the end yet but dont forget to weld up the holes so the tubes dont full with water and freeze. Maybe you did before you finished.
Like it when you two are in the shop, all that banger. Nice upgrade for towing when out in the field, re Arron's comment about JD, as they dont seam to listen to engiineers and users about easy access for servicing, I don't think they will listen to anyone about putting tow points on blades. Of course what you could do ia patent the idea, that way if JD did try and market it, they would have to pay you. 👍
I love watching you and arron at work .the videos are so fun to watch of arron at is best work i almost broke to at to the tv to turn you video on . Your videos are the best
I worked in Freightliner dealer for nearly 20 years and the last 8 yrs of it I were Crocs. Only wearing boots while do transmission builds. They allowed me to work longer because they offer a lot of cushion and are lite which took a lot stress off my knees and lower back
Hello Mike, you and Aaron make a great team! Regarding the "History channel", today is March 12th. so we should rebrand it to "The Recent History Channel". I really enjoy your videos, so thank you guys!
I live a little farther north and a couple states west of you. We only had one month of Winter this year, but it was definitely a season's worth of nastiness.
Hope to see Jerry again. He needs to drop in to keep you both in line. You need one show of non editing of Jerry. Just label it PG13. Great video and concerned about the upcoming events.
Great job that job looks close enough for government work. I miss welding don't know how many times I've burnt my eyes when I go to flip my helmet hit that trigger that is a heart burning your eyes
Forget the angles. Tack weld it in upright position at the corner that touches the base. Then use a metal block say 2 inches high and hold it on the base on the four sides mark where to cut. Break the weld and cut all 4 sides and reconnect. It has to be a perfect fit. Cheers
Y’all did some impressive modifications to front of the dozer, looks good.just got to finish up this project.great video, great job.keep doing what your doing and carry on.😎😎😎👍👍👍
That sounds good regarding the root rake. that dozer has its task, a root rake should be installed on a dozer that is not tied up by tile jobs on tile demand months.
Mystery Project Anyone following you on Instagram or Facebook already knows what the scary mystery project is. I’m looking forward to seeing it come together.
That job turned out very nice, , of coarse we got to thank Aaron for his talent, and your talent Mike , for both of you work superbly together 👍👍😎😎🍮🍮❤️
Now that is a great idea - manufacturers listening to the actual people on the ground - improvements make sense. MBTS the positions you have to get into to weld is great to watch. Dirt Perfect - good you had time away (even if it was a few moths ago) - have to smell the roses sometimes.
Hello from East Coast Australia 🇦🇺 You have suffering reezing cold weather. We are suffering very hot days in the 40+ or 38 °C. You and team have a great year Mike
It's always a lot of fun being with you guys in the shop. How you make it fun and interesting, I don't know. But you do. Looking forward to the next episode of "Dirt Perfect" in the shop with the dynamic duo.
I really like these kinda video's! I like how you modify your equipment to fit your business. And you both are so good at it! I bet you spend hours just in the engineering process. I have to say, Aston has come such a long way in so many ways. I get a kick out of watching his confident level go way up over the years👏 This is going to be brilliant for sure!!
I am happy that business/weather has been good enough to keep you out of the shop. However, I have waited all season for your shop videos. Glad that at least this one is out. You boys be safe!
You know when you're a welder when Aron says"eyeballs" and you close your eyes while watching the video.
I envy the steady hands and skills of Aaron. Aaron is a great fabricator, can do anything it takes.
Them steady hands tend to become unstable the older you get. Lol
Aaron is a good fabricator just hope he doesn’t lose his steadiness. I know I lost mine. Keep up the great work and videos ❤
My eyesight got weak...when you put a light on your project before you tig....
Hey Mike get Aaron a PULSE-SPRAY arc MIG for that heavy plate! Stonger faster BETTER for heavy plate...use the old MIG for light plate and sheet steel. Love Dirt Pefect Channel!
Somebody count the times Aaron says "Yeah" in the video. He must be the yes man..........
"like it.......eyeballs". Great to see you two back in the shop.

Man Behind the Scene really enters his own talent world. Probably worth all your paying him DP.
I was thinking with all the quiet, super-intense cyphering @ 17:00 - we’d hear MBTS flush the toilet - just to make a statement 😁

Actually I'm seeing this on March 12,my deceased husband's birthday. Welcome back and I look forward to watching you two together again 😊.
Sorry about your loss.
Should probably put a weep hole at the bottom of that post.
Mikey… it’s refreshing to see MBTS back in the shop!
Keepin’ you on track is his Super Power!!!
See you on the next one.
You need to invest in a few fireplace blankets. That way, when you're cutting.Nothing catches a fire if our bunk is protected everything
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Shop days being creative are always interesting and entertaining. Wishing you and your family the best.
Awesome video! I like it when you both are in the shop working and having a good time. Thank you for sharing! 😊
I am surprised that you do not cover the hydraulic rams on the blade to keep the weld splatter from damaging the chrome. HAVE A GREAT DAY.

Which episode was that ? I can't find it
@@randallparker8477 It came out today!!
Great to have some days in the shop to get important work done on equipment. Repair good plan.
Haha. “I don’t have my thinking cap on, I have my welding cap on.”😂
The D6-9U would be an excellent machine for a root rake. 😉 I can’t wait for you to feature that legendary beast on the channel again.

Your ability to think outside the box is something to watch. Making your equipment work for you and not you for it.

I would say with great confidence that Clint’s two boys could show Shorty a few things about welding. Maybe a weld off could be set up.
I too, really enjoy 'fabrication days' in the shop.
I like the construction videos too, but if I had to choose,....... :)

I😂 don't think Jerry's going to like that it's going to make a blind spot on the top corner of the Blade 😅
I want to see the video where you managed to squeeze the dozer in the little roll-up door.
A lot of greeze and some speed and it slid right through.
Aaron does solid nice clean weldes and fabricating 👍good job.
