Two things guys 1) Don't forget the cotter pin, or as I was told doing my apprenticeship, the split pin. 2) Mike, be careful with Temu if you used your credit/debit card, a friend of mine got something from Temu, but the credit card details got used by someone else. I personally use a pre paid credit card, issued by MasterCard when I go on Ebay, that way I have a limit, $100. When it's empty you cannot top it up. Brilliant build by the way.
If that contraption had a rubber mounted camera close to the blade and a screen mounted high in the cab so when you are looking up you could have 1 eye on the screen and 1 eye on wot you can actually see it could be used with alot of precision, just a thought . Nice work great video
Wow...that saw worked a whole lot better than I thought it would. I have to say you two have created a work of art. If you could rotate the saw you would be able to vertically limb both sides of a tree and horizontally section the tree without leaving the cab...maybe a 24v motor with reduction and chain drive! I love your channel...my wife says Dirt Perfect and Letsdig18 are like my soap operas...I have to watch them every night!
@@retrodad6864 I watch the videos in the morning I wish there was a video everyday it's what motivates me to go out and do something that and a cup of coffee. lol
Yes, I thought the same thing when Mike was tightening the lock nut the same way as the blade rotation, - but then put it down to maybe the idiosyncrasies of video filming giving viewers a false (reverse) look.... - phew!
@@andymack5093 - Well, we were right. Mike caught his mistake and corrected it in the next video. Seeing as these videos are several years old (OK, maybe weeks) before Mr. Perfect posts them, I guess we'll have to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he did find his own mistake. Regardless, I still think the candy stripe paint job Aaron wants is the correct way to go. That black/green doesn't do it justice. Besides, having MBTS drive it up to C&C Equipment and have Kevin work his magic would have resulted in some fantastic videos with the second string as the stars.
Add an upside down "V" just under the end of the boom where the gearbox is mounted that sticks to maybe 4" to 6" below the blade. It will capture the limb and keep it from trying to shoot away from the blade when cutting it. It also helps to "guide" the limb towards the center of the blade if you're positioning is a little off. Maybe 1" or 1.5" square steel tube should do it.
I have to say Mike that is a thing of beauty and you are quite the painter I must admit it I'm impressed very impressed on all of it and man behind the scenes there he is a hell of a welder You guys make a great team
Good morning DP and MBtS. I like the color and I think you should call it Forest because it cuts trees and rounds out the trio with Lt. Dan and Bubba Dump.
Good job on the paint job, and on protecting your lungs by wearing a respirator, but make sure to use a combination filter cartridge that includes an organic vapor cartridge in addition to the pink pancake P100 particulate filter you did wear. That will protect your lungs from the solvents in the paint too.
Limb Perfect lol. Who else fast forwarded to the end to see this Tasmanian Devil in action? I will watch the rest tonight, but I just had to see it cutting. Great job guys.
The scary factor has not diminished! The way it yeeted that one branch toward you, you may want to ensure the front window is closed. That is one big cutting machine! What a wonderful job of creation. You both need to pat yourselves on the back for this.
It's surprising just how precise and accurate your test run turned out. It sure went threw that hickory in a hurry. Not sure what you are going to name this new attachment the "Simon Saw" Good video Mike love the home made stuff.
The ( Limb Zilla ) If you are going to add tubbing for the hoses, put a tube on both sides this way you won't be stretching the other hose. great video as always Mike and Aaron. See you on the next video and project
That thing is impressive DP. You and Aaron deserve to be very proud for producing something that awesome from mostly scrap. You guys still amaze me and keep me laughing. Cudos guys. Love your channel and your videos Mike. 😆👍
Hi Mike, What a great new toy to play with. You could sell tickets for people who would want to play with it. This project came out 125% You two are so awesome!! Can't wait to see it in action on a job!!
Paint adds a factory look to any thing especially steel coming out of a two man shop. Just add some JD yellow to the rotator lock handle & you're ready to go limbinator some limbs. Hopefully tree limbs.
I’m convinced there is nothing you and MBTS cannot build. Together you guys are a well oiled team and the way you two jab at each other is comical, it makes good content. Love the channel
The first thing I noticed was the blade was flipped to the correct correlation with the nut. This was not a secret. Lol keep the vids coming. You two are more entertaining than 95% of what's on tv
Loved seeing it in action. Cuts beautiful. This has been a great series and I enjoyed it every step of the way. Time to put the Dirt Perfect logo on the boom. Good name, "The Limbinator ".
Howdy Mr. Dirt, FREAKING AMAZING!! 2 ideas - get a piece of one inch hose (one inch fire hose from the Captain), slice it like a hot-dog bun & wrap it around the blade for protection! And #2 - get some bright orange or yellow decals for around the cutting head for better visibility & safety! You guys did an awesome job!! Great video! Thumbs up! Safety first! Jim
Mike, still love calling it the Edward Scissors-Hand Saw! I guess the accessories will be connecting a homemade wood chopper and a homemade wood splitter! 😁😁 Looks impressive! Great job Arron..and you too DP! 😂😂
AWESOME!!!! Just freakin' AWESOME!!! Name suggestion, " TREE REX ". I have seen Limb Reaper on other equipment. I have 55 + years in wood working and general carpentry and also know my way around a chain saw and would like to offer some safety tips for you to consider. Cut limbs from the bottom of the tree up to the top to prevent snagging falling limbs. ALWAYS cut on the top side of the limb to prevent pinching the blade. Let the blade cut at it's own speed. Never push or force it to cut more then it wants to. If it seems like it's not cutting well, check the sharpness and get it sharpened ASAP. I know a blade that size is expensive but consider a spare to swap out when you're in the middle of a job in the middle of no - wheresville. It could take a week or more to get your blade back from a sharpening shop. DP's paint work is good but MBTS's idea of the Barbour pole would be better for visibility when working in live, green, leaves and trees. Consider some contrasting depth gauge marks ( like on big ships ) so you have some idea of how far in your blade is. I could go on but don't want to write an operator's manual. You wouldn't read it anyway. LMAO. Later guy's.
Did yall see Clint’s latest video, a helicopter dropped off a trimmer for cutting right-a-ways! Like pipelines and high lines! That trimmer had about 6-10 saw blades on it! It was cool Mike, take a look at Clint’s channel! You talk about small drive shaft tube and flimsy looking! Check it out, I’m going to look up some videos on those cutters!
Those cutters are used extensively here in WA State. They do a good enough job for what they are used for, but the cuts aren't pretty or neat. There is a lot of movement because it is hanging from a helicopter. But when your trying to clear limbs from high voltage power transmission lines in the middle of the Cascade mountains, you probably don't care about neat.
i onder if you can leave the excavator on the lowboy 1 guy driving the other trimming the roadside for the municipality - might get to make some good money in order to pay clint to finally fix and finish Lt Dan
This has been a fun build to follow, it's always satisfying that moment when you know that it's going to actually work., build me one please but smaller for my 45 HP tractor 😁
How much fun is that. Working with your best friend and tinkering in the garage! Awesome build I think you could get C&C to mass produce your blue print.
That is a beautiful, well designed and executed piece of equipment. I would have painted the boom yellow so it would show up against the green trees, but I'm red green color blind.
The New Attachment looks awesome. Congrats to both you and Aaron on the great and impressive build, all form scraps, and the dang thing works! Hey, you both forgot the DIRT PERFECT STICKER... Hopefully you will attach that later.
Just wanted to say I re watched the interview podcast with farmer Criss and his relative that didn’t want to answer questions.. He was surprised at how much you knew. You are smart and knowledgeable. 👍
Mike, You need to go out to the hardware stores more often, that size washer hasn't been five cents for the last few years (Thank you, Brandon!). Where oh where is the DP sticker?!? Maybe you need to get a line of 'Almost DP' stickers, as well, for the welded projects, so you guys can provide signature for Aaron's skill and contributions and we can rightly appreciate. Thank you both!!!😁
No guard needed, but maybe a transportation boot to protect the blade when moving it 👍
Great job welding MBTS
I’d call it LARS. Long A** Reach Saw. Awesome build! Great ingenuity! Kudos to you both!
The best most frightening thing to come from someone’s garage that is actually useful. 😊

He can rotate the saw. For that he just needs to add a cylinder to push on the brake, will let the mast turn at will freely until release the brake
That's the best part of working together,,,, You have a witness for those one of kind stories. (the bird )
This has been an awesome build. Love it
Hey guys THANKS for reversing the rotation! I can sleep better now 😅.

Without a doubt, you have more than achieved your aim what a creation well done.
Being able to set different angles on that is just awesome! You could even take a tree down from the top if you needed to!
Some of my favorite videos are of yall building stuff from sketch to reality. NICE work.

OK, really great design - excellent assembly - two really good coats of paint - all it really needs now is a dirt perfect decal. Congratulations!
