After purchasing my 2020 Silverado 3500, I filled it with all the Banks parts. Recently the Derringer started creating codes on my truck. After a lot of back and forth with Banks, they've given up on my issue and I've had to pull the Derringer out of the truck. I'm looking at the CTS3 and full unlock and tune package now.
I honestly have never been super impressed with banks. I used to just say they were overpriced but good quality. In recent years that opinion has declined a little. I recently gave them a chance again on a different product and unfortunately returned it after a few days.
One noteworthy thing you didn't mention is that the datamonster allows additional input expandability by being able to physically add sensors to a vehicle and get diagnostics on a parameter that the car/OBD2 didn't offer before. For example, the reason I went banks is because yes i need to monitor my trans/engine temps but my jeep unfortunately doesn't have oil pressure, oil temp, trans coolant temp,. I will be able to buy a banks sensor, drill/tap an oil pressure sensor in, wire it up to my IDash and now have oil pressure monitor where it was never an option before. This is the only thing on the market that allows for that and truly sets itself apart from the competition imo. Otherwise great video!
@@maxdominguez5543 the EAS modules also have kits that allows the driver to connect lights, DRLs, air pumps, or whatever you want via the touchscreen. The drawback is once your screen dies so does all your extra gauges and controls connected. I have an old CTS2 and the touchscreen display is now faulty, which is why I am now shopping for a CTS3.
Whoa- just got the banks installed and for some reason its not showing trans temp (something easily read in torque and output by my OBD in my 2013 JKUR). Banks doesn't seem to have a good answer for this and asked me to switch vehicle profiles. Needless to say, its going back and now checking out the CTS3
@@cbr600rx7 They did not fix the problem. I decided to purchase a OBD cable with a shut off switch. SO now I turn it on, than start the truck. Pretty simple. Maybe someday they will resolve this issue
I have had edges since 2005/2006 and I only get 2-3 years out of them. There customer service use to be great. The last few years not so much. I’ve switched to banks as soon as the Idash came out. I miss the big screen but super happy with it
Anyone making a programmer/tuner/controller with external video output to run to Kenwood Nav or via CarPlay? Imagine having just the output display on your center stack.
How so? front tires are with in 1psi of each other and rear tires are with in 2psi I wouldn’t call that “all over the place”. The truck is used to tow and work so I run a little more air in the rears to compensate for that. Truck has a deck system, slide out, and top as well as a load distribution system on the rear. Tires are load range E rated for up to 80 psi so I am well with in the operational range. I run about 10psi less in the front for slightly better ride quality with the stiffer side walls.

Edge has EAS kits that do the same thing...
@@PeterKnagge oh really did not know that. Those are 2 very big deals and def a selling point for older vehicles and should be discussed here imo

@@bigbadbob143I doubt they can it's likely just the 6.7 doesn't turn off power for some reason
@@ianc8165THey did fix it over the air. They sent a patch to my unit. It takes 15 minutes to shut off, but i an ok with that

Where did you find the regent status on the CTS 3? I couldn't find it on mine
It says something like DPF status. I will have to check again.

Thanks for the review.
Where can I get this product for my 3.5 L ecoboost
5 star or really any performance shop should be able to hook you up.
Do you have to charger it ?
No it runs of the OBD-II connection
@@cbr600rx7 my shit not turning on
How did you get the cts3 to work with banks?
You can run a splitter for the OBD-2 but honestly I wouldn’t recommend it.
He literally says like 10 times throughout the video.
Cts3 ftw

What a pointless and stupid comment.
