    I've had this pedal for two years and absolutely love it. I play church on Sundays and play with a rock/metal project on the side. For my playing I run a midi controlled Source Audio eq in the fx loop. Clean, OD, and cold fusion all have their own eq which switch with midi. In the studio I run the Thru out to a di box so the DAW gets raw bass and "amp'd" bass at the same time. I don't ever see getting rid of this pedal.

    I think the reason its so dark is they want you to buy a torpedo cab and use a cleaner cab for channel A. Ill probably get another cabsim to run with mine at somepoint. The clean sound (with cabsim off) is why i like this pedal over the darkglass. Having tried with several basses it just makes them all sound better then without it. Having said that i mostly play basses with a active eq and set the eq there, changing a pedals eq every time you swap basses is annoying if i wanted to do that id use something like the source audio eq pedal with a preset per bass.
    So i'm a bass player who plats mostly clean that enjoys this pedal. Cold fusion mode with mostly channel A and slight drive on B also sounds great

    I have both the vintage ultra and two notes le bass. I play a couple of different genres I play rock, pop, gospel, jazz, and electronic music for I play at church, and two original bands plus record and practice at home. I can't say that one is better than the other for they both excel in different areas, but I'll say that I ended up putting the le bass as my main preamp cause it has features that suit me better for example the FX loop is a must for me to run chorus/delay/reverb that cab simulation also great for shows where I run direct and not too bothered lack of EQ.

    I'll say it again, I appreciate your bass pedal reviews way more than that other channel you keep saying I should check out. You take the time to move every control so one can understand how the thing works. What are you using for a bass amp?

    I think, in fusion mode, the fusion pot replace the volume pot of the A channel.

    For that more-metal-than-Darkglass-vintage -sound, you should check out their B7K. It's crispy and growly if needed.

    I found that driving this pedal with a Tone City Kaffir Lime creates some awesome tones. The Kaffir Lime works decently well on bass.

    Sounds great. But so does the DG stuff. I love the EQ on the Ultra, but LB is dual channel tube driven w more features...........IYO is the LeBass a better deal for the money?

    • @bflo1000
      @bflo1000 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know at 25:00 or so you kind of answered my ? (sorry), and said that you preferred the DG Ultra because of the high end sparkle. BUT it's also $90 more then the Le Bass as well as $60 than the excellent DG Deluxe version that also have a great EQ. Is the EQ on the Ultra MUCH better than on the Deluxe?

    Nice review. I'm a bit unclear on the cab simulation. Is it built into the unit? Are they loaded into them? Or do you need to use the software emulation to get a cabinet sound?

    • @bflo1000
      @bflo1000 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a side button on the unit.

    Hi EytschPi42. You said that the Le Bass is not really good for clean bass tone, but more for metal guys. I have a Le Bass and Torpedo C.A.B. M +, and I think the clean tone is fantastic! The C.A.B. has more twaeks to make a great clean tone, plus the speaker cabinet sims. I love the combination! True, the Le Bass on it's own is good...if you could only afford one of the boxes, and you really wanted clean tone, go for the Torpedo C.A.B. M+ because it has a good pre-amp sim, power amp sim and cabinet sims. It sounds great on its own, but add a tube preamp to the Torpedo, and it's a great sounding virtual rig.

    I bet you could make it sparkle if you put a GE-7b in the loop.

    Also your bass must have a really high output, mine wont come close to driving channel A even on full gain

    Yes too bad with all it's versatility they didn't add more flexibility to the clean channel.As someone that loves bass preamps I find not enough concentrate on anything other than O.D. I love me some grit but like you said some sparkle is good also.

    Henning, I hope you're well. I will try to be even handed in my assessment as I am somewhat of a mouthpiece for the LeBass. That's why I was at NAMM. I agree and disagree with your review. First, I am an R&B and funk player. I love the "A" (clean) channel for the tube Motown and (gain down, treble up) slap, funk sounds. I use it for all basses that come into the studio and when I'm on stage or at a radio station. One thing I would like to see is that sweepable mid also on the clean channel. Also, I think the cab sim is a 6x10 fridg (Rock style) cab. I would like the choice of a 4x10 Hartke style cab. Other than that I think your review was very much on the money. Let's get together and talk more Chinese pedals.
    Later Lee

    In french we got "le" and "la" to determine things. Le bateau (the boat), la chaise (the chair). A bass in french is "la basse/une basse" it's just take an "e" at the end but it's "La".
    When we're joking talking like english people in french we put "LE at the beginning to every words. It's one of the hard part of talking french so it's hard even to fluent good english talking french speaker.

    The vintage ultra puts this thing to shame....that just sounds ultra processed and reminds me of the sound you get from cheepo bass multi effect pedals. Thanks for the review, I know to save my cash for the Darkglass.

      I may slightly prefer the DG, but this is also good. Cheap pedals don't sound this huge. But I'll take some dirt & mud over articulation.

      Lol! Bro! I had the vintage ultra a good 6 months and this thing BLOWS it out of the water plus the le bass has an FX loop. I’ve just had a lot more compliments from this than I ever had from the VU. I also gigged with the VU like 2 - 4 a week consistently in those 6 months.

      What tubes would you recommend?

    • @Bourbon-Canted-Ky-Windage
      @Bourbon-Canted-Ky-Windage 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would start with a TAD 7025S. With that as my baseline tone, research tubes from venders who their own testing and check out the descriptions. In the US, I highly recommend Doug’s Tubes. The easy way is to call a Doug, tell him what you want out of your pedal and follow his recommendations. The Tube Store and Tube Depot are excellent sources, also.

    An Stelle rumklimpern lieber durchgängig ein Riff oder zwei Riffs spielen. Das macht es für den Zuschauer leichter, die Unterscheide zu erkennen.

    what does "di" stand for?

    • @GIGeorge23
      @GIGeorge23 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Direct Input/Injection, it means you can take an xlr cable straight from the pedal to go to a soundboard/PA at a live gig or to a recording console or interface for recording.

    15 Sekunden und DeepL. Auf französisch ist es la basse. Das Pedal wäre la pédale. Auf der two notes Webseite wird das Pedal angekündigt als Le préampli basse ultime. Also müsste es la pédale basse oder le préampli basse heißen. Keine Ahnung was sich Two Notes dabei gedacht hat. Vermutlich soll es exotisch französisch klingen aber doch erkennbar für Bassisten. Der Franzose sagt ampli und nicht amp. SansAmp ist nicht französisch sondern ein Marketing Kunstwort.

    Bass guitar is "la basse". but "low" is "grave" (les graves/les médiums/les aigus). I can teach you more French if you want !

  • @gurkharo2408
    @gurkharo2408 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    En français, we say "une basse" : then it had to be "La basse" ..so it's a "SHE-instrument" as guitar and drums (any keyboard is a "HE-instrument" !) !!!
    This pedal makes me think about a weird mix because...
    ..if it's "Le" (male) then it needs a male translation for "Bass" ; the translated male word is "Bar" ... not the saloon/pub/tavern but the fish !?!?!?!
    "Le Bass".. non mais... franchement !!!!!
    But anyway its name, I WANT IT !!!!!!!!!!!!

      je crois que cest plutôt une petite touche comique pour se moquer des non francophones, puisquils s'amusent beaucoup à utiliser " Le'' " + un accent français à deux balles pour n'importe quoi pour que ça sonne " français ", et croit moi j'en ai connu des gens qui adorez-me faire ce genre de truc...pfff
