Joshua actually really wants to play against birds so he hyped them up a lot. Big brain move
Floowanderezee is a good deck, just ask any Master Duel player.
@@Ragnarok540 do you mean brain dead
@@Ragnarok540 Floo is a good deck. Copium. Floo is a good deck. Copium. Floo is a good deck. Copium. Floo is a good deck. Copium. Floo is-
_bricking for the 27th time in a row going first, god tier best hand ever existed for the 69th time going second_
@@sekaihunter9378 literally the best deck in the game going first, no debate. Really consistent too but some hands just do much and fold to one interruption. I think a lot of decks have the same faults but lack the best archetype engine in the game. There is so much merit to playing floowandereeze tbh. No matter how much you hate a deck or a strategy, you also have to respect it to an extent
Bird brain move
Milling 20 cards is bonkers. Dante would be proud.
I miss ol boy
more like 24 (or 29 if you play exchange of spirit)
I'm personally just playing BAs in Dinomorphia. Shits really funny.
might as well unban grass lol
I hate this game so much more now. I dont understand how ygo players are okay with ishizu tears even though it's practically tier 0. Thought everybody hated this game and Konami for pushing this kinda garbage but I guess not.
From all the yugitubers I've listened to, your explanations and opinions are the most down to earth and I completely agree with every single one of them.
it is because he is also a good player that constantly tops/wins events since at least 8 years if not more... but cant say the same for most of the other youtubers
Others mostly just use clickbaits and exaggerate everything. I despise floo as a deck too, but as Joshua said: if you despise something, that does not making it bad.
hes wrong on the exosisters tho, he doesnt know what they can do.
bruh and he put Heroes in "do not" lol im done. L takes
I admire your understanding of competitive yugioh a lot, keep up the great content brother
I'd be interested in where you'd place Crystal Beasts with their new support in this tier list for the current meta. The Conclave Control List is able to run Shifters and has a reliable in-archetype search for either mystic mine or necrovalley, which they can play under.
I looked up the comments, someone else had asked. Josh's answer:
"‘okay’ Anti Meta deck with Shifter etc"
As a D/D/D guy for this year it was great, it was a hand trap deck and tended to brick more than it should have, the lists will not get better as its pretty much solved kinda sad its no longer "good" but hey i won a cash tournament with it and the finale was a mirror match
I don't remember actually bricking much.. Especially if you keep it 40
@@zer0sy51 i mean you did run 9 hand traps, and a lot of one offs, bricking was inevitable
@@Awsomeisimo really rare though... Having so many 1 card - 2 card combos... Also some of these 1 ofs can do gilg into deus which is sometimes enough to not die
@@zer0sy51 you got kepler as the only good one card combo
@@Awsomeisimo which you run 7 of (3 kepler 3 map/small world 1 one4one)
Gate which is also 3x is a one card combo(coper send lamia)
I really hoped to see Labrynth in this tier list. Im experimenting on it alot and i find it quite strong right now. Maybe after Galaxy Nova and the release of Big welcome Labrynth, which is going to power up the Deck ALOT.
One thing (not saying its the only thing) I respect about your assessments is that you say you haven’t tested a deck enough to give a good assessment on it. I hate when people say a deck is bad when they never played it (just saying what other people say without any personal reasons why).
Yes, Sky striker is being powercrept, Engage to 2
The thing that people dont realise about D link is that it can basically summon koaki meiru from deck with seal, which is basically a barrier statue. Plus its hard to play over koa ki if you dont draw dropplet since you cant walk over it because the bystial trap just pops your normal. You can easily cheese the 1st game with just a basic board and summon koa ki. Plus tear has almost no way to play over borrelend they have to set their negate and use it the next turn. Also, if you can summon borrelend going 2nd, you just walk all over their board. Only bad thing is the deck loses to super poly, cant do much about that.
Would love to see a potential branded bystial list going forward into the new format
Really Good tier as Always. Keep up the work. Wanna see your spright deck soon cause i really hate tear with the new ishizu support, so broken.
Every tier list should be taken with a grain of salt. The decks at the top usually aren’t the only viable strategy’s. Best way to know if to spend time and test yourself.
Have fun testing against tear LOL
@@tsvetomirsheev3882 I will. Floo
Has been really good for me lately ;)
@@tsvetomirsheev3882 also tear is my “fun” deck so I know a lot of its weaknesses and where to interrupt it for the most part.
@@OutcastMosquito you have a twisted taste of what is fun my guy, first u mention floo of all things and then u say u lenjoy the tear shitfest lmao
You do you boo
Vaylantz splashed with the ever popular "an opponent who has not read my cards fully" archetype.
It's just at a locals level but the Marincess Zealantis interaction isn't that niche. Non targeting field banish and generally 2+ non targeting field pops.
It goes hard with main deck x3 Triple Tactics and side deck Change of Heart+Mind Control.
Bystial cards: exist
Drytron and Eldlich: Aight, i'm gonna go to the shop to grab some milk and come back, okay?
_never came back_
Pretty much any deck that needs the GY is going to need to start main decking or side decking Lancea (especially after Photon Hypernova releases in the TCG).
I'll admit Ishizu Runick has gotten worse since I started testing it last summer, but it's still fine. I'm not gonna be winning Dortmund but I think my deck itself can perform well in the hands of better players.
That's what I said when I took World Chalice to YCS Bochum, and it won.
ishizu runick wow interesting
Agree on almost everything, but If i was playing ishizu tears i would still be worried about dragon link and despia (even with no Bystial)
Why though? Not being an ass just curious. Despians without bystial lose to tear ceartinly correct?
@@renthevillain1885 in terms of odds, most likely. Although, despia can Ra lock, and even without Ra lock I'd be scared of super poly since despia can afford it against tears and now they can search a lot of different traps, so despise doesn't have the best chances, but going second, without the fusion on turn 0 I'm still scared. D link is a little different cause i would be scared more of how much the deck is resilient and now one card is borrelend plus savage, wich means that your out to borrelend is gonna get stopped. I don't think tears necessarily loses against these decks but. Other than monkeys Flunder, those are the ones I would be preparing for in a tournament (spright too)
What's your thoughts on the potential of Crystal Beasts? Conclave control or combo variant
I've been sneakily watching you. I have no choice but to sub. You're informative, helpful, chill, and all around so enjoyable to listen to.
Can you add Madolche and Vernusylph? Since Vernusylph has many versions (pure, Naturia, earth machine, etc), you can pick which kind of Vernusylph deck you want to show but at least include Madolche :3
I'm a ddd and dracoslayer fan,and I agree with everything you just said. The ddd board used to be unbreakable, and the 12 handtraps lineup used to be enough, but in this meta it is not. About dracoslayer, it has a good matchup against everybody going 1st with his field spell/negates/scythe protected thing, going 2nd is good only against tearlaments because of pegasus , but in general it struggles a lot. To me is possibile to see 1,maybe 2 dracoslayer reach the top 32 of a ycs,but that's all. Without electrumite this is the limit
What about Crystal Beasts?
I mean the control Necrovalley variant for this format
You forgot crystal beast. Pretty strong.
i play d/d/d and i completely agree with the placement, but i will stil play the deck because it makes my brain happy when machinex succ
I run Beetroopers since I can avoid playing any darks/lights.
Interruptions against Tear:
1. Sting Lancer stops 1 fuse
2. Counter trap stops 1 fuse
3. Sting the posion negates both effects of the lvl 5 fusion
4. Contact c stops them from playing on my turn or prevents the mill 6 or 8 from doing anything
Thoughts?
Seems viable. Like if you'll play this on DB ranked or something, it'd probly compete better than others.
I'm not gonna ask you to rate my libromancer and Myutant Ghoti deck because I already know the answer but instead I'm gonna ask you what's the hit ichizu tear should take on the upcoming ban list to go to tier 0 to tier 1 / 1.5 ?
Knocking down how many Keldos and mudoras they can play
Limit the shufflers, Ban Merli for less synergy with Sprights
Dracoslayer is the best Shifter deck tbh, also I think the only ishizu cards you run in naturia are mudora & keldo
It’s an obscure ruling but Pendulums still get banished from the effects of Shifter and Macro Cosmos. That’s because Pendulums get sent to the GY first, then the game checks if it’s a pendulum and sends it to the extra deck. For some reason Dimension Shifter will banish it even if it touches the GY for a split second. It just works
@@WhatsUrName0o7 yes, I'm aware. You can consistently otk under that with the dracoslayer deck still
Ignis phoenix still triggers if banishrd, you can make selene live under shifter still and shifter is a spellcaster. And accesscode can still target banished monsters. There are other reasons too that it works, but shifter works in the deck decently well. Obv flunder works better under shifter, I just think dracoslayer is a better deck if you don't have shifter and they can still use it.
@@WhatsUrName0o7 pendulum are still counted as spells in pendulum zones. Any pendulum in spell zones won’t get banished as there monsters at that moment. Only if summon pendulum as monsters would they get banish under shifter.
How do you feel about Witchcrafters post MAMA? I feel like they have enough to be considered Rogue if this was a more even format.
Hey, what about virtual world? Good toolbox on the extra deck, Beatrice is a winda +draw by herself and wollow is a really good card
deck is too bricky and inconsistent that would be in do not category
@@perezerick94 fair point, but i still feel like it could do some fun stuff in the right hands, with or without the punk engine
I'm wondering that too. In the OCG there's a small number of Virtual World decks topping every week. Not enough that I'd say it is relevant, but apparently it can hold its own? Haven't seen anything like it in the TCG though. Afaik the only difference relevant to the deck is that OCG has smoke grenade and TCG does not. So in OCG pretty much every VW deck makes Power Tool Brave, equip KayEst and Grenade = 1 negate & hand rip. Surprised that this basically results in VW being represented a little vs. not at all though.
Whats your opionion on weatherpainter
I love the idea and Play it on my locals but it isnt the Beat Deck to consider. So what are your thouts on the Deck
what about Rescue Rabbit Evilswarm? I can't believe you forgot to mention this powerhouse of a meta contender
I'm just now getting back into the game after a 6-month hiatus, I'm watching all these channels talk about Ishuzu-tear being the best, right now I'm playing Flunder because it's relatively easy to pilot, but I'm looking at building a spright varient, probably tri-spright. What are your thoughts as to what I should play as a newer player this upcoming format?
Bro I'm super fresh to the scene and that's the golden fucking goose question
Joshua what do you think about eldlich zombie world deck with superpoly and is it
? still competitive
Crystal Beast - Shifter, Necrovalley, Abyss turbo.
Hellow , since i don't see Earth Machine in here , what is your opinion about the deck ? Would like to know what do you think about it. ^^'
What do you think is the best Backrow based strategy right now? (Not including Normal Summon Robina) I know they aren't great right now but out of all of them what would you say is the best?
Great discussion! I've found that runick mystic mine stun works pretty well vs tearl/ischzu...... (although it's pretty sickening to play for long periods of time)
I've been testing Ghoti against Ishizutear (and others) with promising results lately, what are your thoughts?
YO HE SAID FLUNDER IS GOOD, that means a lot to us bird brains. thanks champ
opinion on buster blader + tearelemants/dogmatika/splight?
given that bysstials/branded are running loose. ive been having a blast with the deck
What's your take on Spellbook Dogmatika? Being able to dig hard into Super Poly (and Reaper if we get to a critical mass of Ishizu Tear in the format) seems decent
If we ever get to play electrumite, you can play Bystial in dracoslayer for crazy combo potential. It's True, going second Dracoslayer is really weak, but as long as you side deck for good, you'll do good
Have you seen jessie kotton's thunder dragon list? What do you think of the deck?
Phantom Knights, thoughts on that in the format?
What do you think of weather painters? They synergize really well with the kashtira cards
Synergize how? Splashability and synergy are two completely different things.
Oh boy, i can't wait to see Sky Striker make it to top cut in a Runick variant :kekw:
Spells will always be the best card type in the game, bar none. Sky Striker is just the deck that refuses to die, which is very on brand for the archetype. Hell, you could always just semi-limit some limited Sky Striker cards in future banlists. The deck has insurance, its like Zoodiac in that regard. If Ratpier ever moved off the limited list, the deck would see much more play again.
Yo man I didn't see Scareclaws on the list, I am currently rocking them and trying to figure out a way to make them somewhat viable. Any tips or ideas?
Tri brigade and/or blind second
Scareclaw normally does really good against tear but I have no clue with the new cards, if you use the tri brigade stuff and banish some of there targets with shuraig it can be quite strong
I have thought about tri brigade stuff but don't know how to use them much, and yeah the tear matchup is great, if you go first you can win easy but if they go first you have no chance!
@@bugbug8092 Yeah you aren't wrong at all the matchup is good, if you win your die roll. Otherwise if tear sets up a certain amount of interruptions it can be really hard to play through that with Claws even with the adventure package engine adding a negate to your board and stuff, I just played a Regionals recently with Claws and went X-4 in a 9 round event not great but not terrible.
Based tier list as per usual, just 1 sad react for ABC being too bad to be even included now...
Yeah for twins I personally think the best way to go about it is to play chaos twins using bystials. You have to play into bystials so take advantage of that with regained, branded beast is a very powerful card, and bystials are bystials
Hey Joshua i'm a long time Tri player and no matter the format always sticked to it (with success) what do you think of Tri-Lunalight and do you think that any Tri-Variant has a chance to compete with more skilled player in the future format ?
I’ve been doing okay (not amazing but I beat it as much as I lose to it) against Ishizu with Tri Spright :) Kitt and Kerass being level 2 is amazing and it makes Rescue Cat on its own full Spright combo
@@lokephoenix1039 i didn't try try spright yet, i may try to run it.
Pog the legendary Josh format Tierlist
what would be ur tier 2 picks if any? I want to play swordsoul because I am good at it but im not sure if it is the pick
Would love to see how Dinos do these days
What do you think of siding dimensional fisure, macro cosmos ?
Does not hinders a Spright that much, I recently played against Floowandereeze and was under d fisure 2 games, didn't lose to it. Thoughts?
What do you think about Mystic mine burn?
Do not
@@JoshuaSchmidtYGO Umi control?
While I doubt it matches up well, I'd be interested to see what your thoughts are for a PUNK/Therion or PUNK/Bysstial deck in this format.
Can you tell me your opinion about @Ignister mixed with Mathmech variant ? That's the only deck I could play since the others are too expensive with the Bysted and Kashtira :'(
Maybe crystal beasts?
What do you think about code talkers? U link with iblee version. And heatsoul control. Unless that was considered by salad.
Mayakashi. Playing pure boardbreaker and turboing out the trap traptrick and gravity collapse. I have pretty good success with it. Bystial dont affect it all because there are no light or darkness monsters even though its zombie. Can lose to ash sometimes
Josh, what about Labrynth with Lady of the Labrynth?
way too slow sadly in my opinion :(
I've been one-tricking Eldlich ever since the El Dorado reprints and I've been looking for a deck to play without going crazy on the price (I have a very limited budget right now).
In a Tier 0 format like this it feels way too risky to invest in Spright/tearlaments/ishizu etc.
What (relatively cheap) deck core do you think is best for this format?
tried out tri spright with nimble and its good cuz you can jam a stupid amount of going second cards and still play good going first, its endboards weren't good pre sprind but now its way better, they have 6 built in good mills against ishizu
It is so insane that the shuffle from GY to deck of keldo and mudora are quick eff. It would be so much more balanced if it wasnt. Now it kills half of the deck alone :)
they are trigger effects
@@hyperfire9207 no the shuffle back are quick effects
@@hyperfire9207 no
Thought in spright adamanciaptor? It can do standard spright stuff whilst also making dweller baronne or arc light. Can also main deck shifter. Good synergy as well.
Not sure there's enough synergy. There's only 2 level 2 Adams and u really wanna be playing a bunch of underwhelming rocks to facilitate them? I'm just thinking aloud tho I haven't actually tried it myself
How do you main shifter when elf plays an integral part of the combo?
@@patrickhsiao2138 you just make an ip instead and if shifter gets negated then whatever you still get barone herald or maybe a dweller of the rocks.
@@Rizwaan122 you also have doki and seafront as level 2 so 12 level 2 rocks plus the sprights
Just wait until Photon Hypernova, Kashtira is going to be going up there next to Ishizu real soon.
Its literally going to be a Dragon Ruler Spellbook sort of format until we get a nuclear banlist. Not even Runick Spright will be able to keep up. They hit your field spell zone and you're done.
Take away Fenrir, Kashtiras immediately die.
Good Video and good explanation, you earned a new subscriber :3 ,
i've a question, more than one to be precise, i wat to start to enter the world of comp yugi, by going to locals ecc... but i fear my deck will not be up for the challenge, i'm currently playing : Pure dragunity, Pure Altergaist, sacred beast Eldlich (i'll probably remake this deck ) and a Zombie Eldlich, are there any good budget decks that are still usable??, Thank you for your time and have a fantastic day :3
Great video, keep it up. Thoughts on Adamancipator Spright?
Are there any decks you think could include the Adventure Package and be viable? Im trying Pure Adventure Stun with necrovalley and shifter and it seems to work well enough to compete.
The adventure package has big trouble with Ishizu milling parts of your engine like Gryphon Rider, Illegal Knight, Fateful or Dracoback. I wouldnt recommend it into a field of Ishiyzu decks
Went on lunch hoping you posted something about MAMA. Was not disapointed.
This is probably mentally insane but was there any experimentation with running ishizu tear without kelbek and agido?
My logic is that they're not that good in the mirror match, since they help both players equally, so why not run some anti ishizu tear tech or just a shaddol card that would give only you payoff for milling.
You can still run them in the side deck for when you face other decks
I gotta ask, what's your opinion on adventure tear? Is it better than pure tear or is it better to just run the deck pure(given you can't buy ishizu cards)
@josh What do you think of blackwings post DWB
Amazing vid as always my dude ! What do you think of tearlament shaddoll
possible rogue contender but not sure
What’s you’re opinion on the labyrinth deck ? It plays responsive traps so doens’t loose to fenrir, can play shifter and all that Anti-meta good stuff. Let me know, and keep up the amazing vids !
The decks that can put up a fight against Ishizu tears (I can say so far) are:
Dinomorphia
Nat Ishizu
Tearlaments (Byssted, Half Ishizu)
Branded Despia (Double Masqerade turbo)
I love dinomorphia and i played it a lot but, superpoly and perlreino is too strong against rexturn right now ...
Hey Josh what u think of Chain Strike at 1 in the side deck. If we come to game 3 with a Ishizu-deck. Could be some nice damage control
nah that little bit of damage doesnt get you there, even in a time scenario you'd need better options
@@JoshuaSchmidtYGO alright thank you
I also had the card " Berserker Soul" in my mind for an interesting tech card. But maybe it's bit to hard to get it though and to profit for it. But I like to test some random cards knowbody expects in decks 😂
Every deck I built ends up in the do not category after 1 format :(
It would be interessting to know, which decks to build in terms of lifespan. Lets say I dont want to play tear or spright. Which decks could be playable for the longest time going into the future?
surely no mention of ghoti was intentional because Joshua is gonna hit Dortmund with that fish power
surely
What do you think about summoned skull control against ishizu tear?🗿
Josh, what’s your opinion on Dogmatika ritual?
What’s your opinion on scareclaws / tri-scareclaw? Loved the vid josh.
I think it was a solid engine in Tear pre-Ishizu but right now I dont really think its that great
I know this will probably get a do not play but I’ve been working on a Bystial branded blue-eyes deck and wondering if you had any thoughts on that
Hi Joshua. Whats with Madolche With shifter and Stuff.
Also bounces to Not Trigger Tears.
What do you think about Altergeist or Subterror w/ main deck Soul Drain/Sphere Mode/Evenly?
why is no one ever talking about the sea stealth attack/Pacifis umi deck? I never seen it anywhere, it doesn't have a name, yet I am 85% winrate on duel masters with it for over a year, with it now having a lot more support as well?
I know you touched on complimentary engines, but thoughts on Adventure Spright?
> What can even compete with Ishizu Tearlament?
A pair of scissors
Mans has to read Plant cards, love the content
What is the best labyrinth build?
What tier is labyrinth?
what do u think about labrynth and predplant branded? thinking which one to play for dortmund
I wonder what buyout Josh will cause after Dortmund.
What about the good ol’ “I banish a light and a dark” turbo deck? Chaos got a lot of support in the form of tear (and ishizu) packages, along with using LS, rokket (and maybe the newly released chaos cards?). How would this deck fare now that chaos ruler is banned? Is it comparable to Branded Bystial Tear?
I dont see what the Chaos monsters add to the deck, you could simply play the Branded/Bystial/Tear stuff without it and it would probably be better
Time to bust out the End-All Meta Killer deck, the most ruthless and dangerous deck of all time: that’s right, “Ojamas.”
Yep, this guy is a genius... look, that was exactly top 32 Pasadena
I've been playing Branded Luna Kaiju. Very good, Luna eats 2 interruptions and then i just Branded Opening/Fusion.
Another great video Josh, I really need to catch a stream soon. Much love
D/D had great matchups before DaBL but now it's sadly Don't Duel (using it).
But I can't entirely agree with HERO.
It's the perfect storm of unpopular Ash [1], main Nibiru is also rare due to Rulkalos [2], you have 6 ways to Darklaw that is game-winning (especially if Super Poly drops) [3], and abuses Rivarly very well [4]. In particular, a DARK D-HERO-focused build that has more draw power (Allure/D-Draw/TTT) with minimal E-HERO engine (1 Stratos, 1 Liquid, Miracle) can more easily dig for Mask Change and even DPE control utilizing D-Tactics, etc.
If Super Poly drops in popularity as well, D-Force Plasma is even harder to out that IP-Avramax for Tear.
The huge issue of Mudora/Bystials is there, but Darklaw is such a pain for the meta. Too bad good players don't give it a shot, but it's understandable since the deck can lose to itself or other non-meta matchups.
