One thing I will say ghost belle has going for it over skull meister is against opponent's bystials, as it is a way to stop them from banishing your cards and allows you to get effects off you otherwise wouldn't
Every TH-camr that does hand trap lists are always sleeping on Belle. I don’t understand it. It’s decent. Hit Called By, Bystials, GY shenanigans. If you have the room, I’d play it (which I do).
@@DigiTism Let's also not ignore the fact that it stops Elf in Spright, as well as Albion and lubellion in branded, Potentially can stop a Stri from a floo player and that Belle negates the activation, meaning she can be dropped during damage step, which Ash and Meister can't. And she can stop Iblee from even hitting your field.
Ever since Euros I've been following you and I have to say I really appreciate you as a player. It's not often to see a player so talented yet so humble and down to earth. Hope to see you in the next main event or in this year's Euros 😁.
Ash/Mourner/Belle are all also just decent in Kashtira just cause they're level 3 tuners, and there just happen to be a number of level 10 synchros that are really good in the deck. Ash doesn't feel great vs. tear, but ashing a havnis (or a normal summon merrli if they brick) can often be enough to win you a game.
Not really a generic handtrap everyone can use, but I've been running a single copy of Sauravis in my Libromancer deck to search off Magnamhut to protect from Fenrir/Imperm/Druiswurm/Dragostapelia and it works REALLY well
You are the goat I love watching your videos. There’s never any arrogance to your air and you are always very fair about everything. Hopefully I get to meet you and play you in the finals someday.
I think Belle is better than Skull Meister in the sense that it can protect your GY resources from Bystials/Crow/Ishizu cards while also still stopping Tear and Spright.
I think you're overlooking one use of Belle in my opinion: you can protect your own stuff (i.e. branded banishment/in red) if they activate something to mess with it
Yeah, I wqs going to say the same... and it also protects your graveyard from opposing bystials: they get it next turn but at least you can resolve the fusion unhindered.
Hey Joshua! I really enjoy your videos, also I find them very helpful as a casual player to try and get better. I’d like to kindly make a suggestion for another video: could you see yourself making a „how to build a deck+ side“ ? I know I’m asking for a lot but I believe you could make this an amazing video giving a lot of information and help to many players :) Anyways… thanks for the amazing content!
I found that hand traps that negates is better than those that don’t because sometimes the effects are more powerful than simply destroying/ exile the monster itself
I have a few super rogue decks that could run Shifter, like Cubics I ran a set that could clear the GY out and then play Shifter before I end my turn, then OTK my next turn
I've also been looking at Contact "C". Really has a unique effect that has potential, but figuring out how to viably play it is rough. This is a card you'd run one of, and one that you want in starting hand, because any later and it's probably too late, since Ishizu Tearlements will have their full board like Turn 1. But definitely a unique card I've been trying out in different decks (in a mirror, probably not something you'd want to run compared to a lot of other handtraps).
Aside from what has been said on belle: protecting your graveyard from being hit by bystials, stopping called by the grave, I'll add that it negates tear's fusions and the ishizu package. Maybe more importantly, contrarily to skull meister, dd crow and the bystials which are completely dead vs floowandereeze, belle, while not stellar is decent enough if you lack space in your side deck as it heavily punishes a map/gold sarc opening by denying robina's recovery from the banished zone.
can you do a video on how to beat tearlaments with generic cards like hand traps and board breaker but specifically mentions at which point of the combo we use each one. I think it will be very beneficial for your audience! Hi Joshua, do you have a video or something where you talk about the bystial cards (which ones to use, ratios etc.) in branded despia? I’m just starting to build a branded despia deck and struggle to decide which cards/ratios are good 😅 In that context I’d also really be interested in your take on the upcoming branded/bystial support in Photon Hypernova 😬
Is heavenly zephyr-miradora good? It should work vs kit, and if paired with a bystial even better. Is also good if spright player goes into sprind and uses sprind to make gigantic, drop on summon. I'm thinking it should be good in conjunction with other bystial in dragon related decks.
Obviously I think bystials are insane just like everyone else, however if you’re playing a casual deck and want to go down to locals, if it’s a chaos type deck try a chaos space engine with a full bystial package with lubellion and continuous. Bystial is a fun strategy and the more you can use them as not just disruptive handtraps the better they become. I’m playing them in evil twins and you can definitely score some full matches against ishizu tear if you play well
Ya it's good as hell at locals. I've been playing ritual beasts with d shifter and soul drain since my locals doesn't have answers to that outside backrow removal. Then game 2 and 3 when they side it in I swap out soul drain for ash
Could you make going second tier list next? Also, do you recomend using bystial even tho i cant use then on my own monsters? Like for exp Marincess, cant use bystial on then, they are all water. (Edit, i used floonder as last exp but it wasnt the best one so i switched with marincess instead)
If you’re trying to resolve your trap then you aren’t using bystials at any point in the game anyways. You need to see if your deck can even play those cards without restriction
Considering most of the Floowandereeze cards lock you out of special summoning the Bystials are _extremely_ mediocre in Floowandereeze. They're not _always_ dead, but often enough that I doubt they're worth playing. Just play crow instead, for the most part that does the same thing for you and you can actually activate it. Not being able to banish your own stuff with Bystials doesn't matter _that_ much because if you're splashing them you mostly want to use them as GY interruption anyway. Of course in a pinch you can always use them as extenders or beat sticks, but if you're not actually playing a branded engine or trying to go into rank 6's that's not why you're putting them into the deck.
my lousy ass played chaos hunter in my ishizu tear deck at locals just so i can discard more kelbeks/agidos ended up not activating it a single time xD
Got this video in my recommendeds. It'd be nice to have the cards (or a wiki screencap of their stats & effect text) show up on-screen when mentioned for the first time. Also, I found some of the editing choices disorienting, like zooming in and out of your face in unremarkable parts of a sentence. Not sure if those were live flubs, intentional from the recording, or done in post, but it's off-putting.
I havent tried Ghoti at all yet simply because it felt so underwhelming in theory, but if its a solid Shifter deck then maybe it can be decent at Local/Regional level, I might give it a try someday!
The issue with Ghoti is that in the deck you need to banish cards at specific times, and some cards need you to banish cards from the GY. So yes, you _can_ technically run shifter in the deck but it's not good for you, whereas we have several decks in the meta right now that either just don't care about shifter at all or benefit from their cards getting banished.
Ghoti is by far the weakest of the shifter-main, “your turn? I think you mean ‘our’ turn!” strategies, and needs a pretty strong hand to have the highest ceiling. Lotta fun to play, though.
D.D. Crow is better than bystials in SOME rogue decks or matchups for example: It's better in lyrulisc/floo bc they can search it And its better than bystials in decks that have monsters that have such effects "if you control no monsters, you can special summon this card" And in decks that lock you into summoning one type/attribute And generally if you play against someone that doesn't run light/dark monsters then bystials are pretty much a brick However in most cases(at the current format at least) bystials are better & Btw you can use belle to protect your monsters from bystials Also if bystial baldrake comes out..where would you rank it?
I think dd crow at the local level is better than bystials. there is a fluffal player (if you read this you know who you are) at my locals who is the bane of my existance. bystials only hit the frightfurs and those get their effects immediately. crow can banish the toy vendor so they cant loop it.
Thoughts on Gorz? To counter the burn damage and equal the damage on both Players Side? Personally I would put it in Mediocre or unplayable, since it needs an empty board and does nothing against effects that heals the opponent
I feel your pain on Phantazmay - I've been looking for an excuse to play it for a while. I thought maybe Spright, Live Twins, and Iblee in Tear would be that excuse, but it was pretty much always a dead draw. Hate it here

What are your thoughts on Heavenly Zephyr - Miradora? It's an unnegatable Imperm against Kitkalos and other important things as well as a free Level 7 monster, so maybe pairing it with a grave hand trap could work out?
It's not an imperm, miradora prevents the opponent from activating the eff of the monster, so the on summon effects are still going to happen since it happens in the same chain as the eff of mira. So you only prevent the on field effs from activating which isn't that great.
