    As was mentioned in one of these comments, not all routers can be configured to disable 5g band. I have a Spectrum 6 router and Spectrum Tech Support wants me to carry my 27cu ft smart refrigerator out in my yard outside the reach of 5g band. They told there is no admin option to disable 5g and even they do not have the ability to shut 5g off temporarily. Great design Spectrum.

    • @UTILITARIANTVUK
      @UTILITARIANTVUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not ideal but you could get some extension cables and move the router away from the fridge.

      I was wondering where that 2.4/5 G option was, but I see there is none...thanks Spectrum!

    PLEASE HELP! I just got a yeedi robot vacuum and it says to connect to 2.4Ghz but it says my wifi is 5Ghz. What do I do?? 😭

    • @UTILITARIANTVUK
      @UTILITARIANTVUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      During set up, try moving the robot vacuum further away from the router so you've only got one or two bars on your WiFi. 5GHz works over shorter distances, 2.4GHz works over longer distances.

    You don't need to bring the device with you when you set it up. You can just set it to pair before you go outside with your phone and just get your phone into 2.4 wifi and setup the device the same way. Saves you from bringing the device with you.

    • @UTILITARIANTVUK

    so if I took my phone and the cctv ( 5khz) outside I can pair my cctv up with my smartphone?

    • @UTILITARIANTVUK
      @UTILITARIANTVUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, take the CCTV and your phone away from the router until you get around 2 or 3 bars on your signal.

  • @USA-CANADA1480
    @USA-CANADA1480 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes I gave it a "lovely juicy like" lol ... "Rooter" man. PS. I had to disable my 5G wifi from my AT&T admin router website in the settings - only to turn it back on after I got my Meross smart light set up after so many frustrating tries - discovering that the 2.4G and 5G simultaneously enabled frequency was hindering it.

  • @imapersonnotanumber8940

    ive got a cctv on 2.4ghz, internet etc on kHz, are there any cctv that run on 5 kHz?

    • @UTILITARIANTVUK
      @UTILITARIANTVUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      They have to have them run on 2.4G Hz as it has a longer range. If they had them on 5 GHz, you would only be able to use the device close to the router.

  • @Shel15
    @Shel15 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Does the cable need to be plugged in to your house to try reset it so it flashes ? Or the cable can be connected to another house to be a bit further so it’s possible to be closer to the 2.4ghz

    • @UTILITARIANTVUK
      @UTILITARIANTVUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long as you're still in range of the 2.4Ghz of your router, it doesn't really matter where you get your power supply.

  • @joon0171
    @joon0171 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hold on, maybe I’m wrong. Or maybe my internet router works different then what ever he’s talking about in this video. But when I connect to my Wi-Fi I have the option to choose wether I want to connect to 2.4 or 5ghz band. Don’t get me wrong, a tutorial video is always welcome and appreciated, but this video leaves me asking if there are dou-band routers that don’t let you choose want band you want to connect to. If so then what is even the point of dou-band.

    • @UTILITARIANTVUK
      @UTILITARIANTVUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When you connect to WiFi with a smart phone, PC, table etc, you will get the option to connect to either the 2.4 or 5GHz. However, you will not get this option in the smart devices app which is why you have to disable it.
