It's like I'm the only person who misses the resin and metal models. They felt so much better to hold when playing. The plastic ones feel like a child's toy.
Why do they call it "Hit the beach" if it doesn't represent any beach landing force (or beach defense force)? The 76mm M4 Sherman wasn't available in quantity until after Falaise! The more I watch FoW, the less realism the game has.
I have the Open Fire starter set from around 2015 ? The great thing about historical games is that you can muck around with the rule books, play with or change the fancy packaging etc, but the miniatures forever remain the same. No need to purchase new models every 5 minutes.
Jam packed set, I have a very similar one myself. Is the one you have bought here a recent release? It seems identical to mine bar the German Tanks (mine were Stugs, under the box name 'Open FIre'). It's interesting my Pak 40s were metal pieces and these are plastics. By the way I'm happy to part with the set if you ever want to expand, as I'm moving into 20mm for WWII.
What you see in the back of the box is not what you get in the box... 1 - There is NO DECALS even if the American or the German tanks are shown with decals - 2 There is no 2 PANZERGRENADIER Platoon but actually 2 Grenadier Platoon.
@@xgcskiman Personnally wrote to battlefront on that subject, Making the point that pzgrenadier is with mg42 in each team and what is in the box is grenadier platoon because there is 3 teams of mg42 per platoon. they agreed and sent me for free 2 platoon of pzgrenadier... it worth to email them and make your case... they are the one who should have been more carefull with the description and the content. good luck to make it right with them...
Same as the Version 3 hit the beach with the slight change in tanks. Pz Iv's replaced Stugs and M4's replaced British Sherman V's and 2 Fireflys. Infantry, AT guns and the rest are the same. Just cards and a new rulebook replacing the older rules.

I totally agree. I have added lead weights to some of my miniatures to give them a bit of 'heft'.
So this is basically the 3rd Ed. Set with panzer IV instead of stugs at an even better value! Awesome!a

This is a updated version if open fire for v4 !!
Weather you respond or not the FOW producers changed from metal to plastic to help increase quality and reduce the price of this set

I see your point, you raley get decals in starter sets. Maybe a miss print on the box about panzee grenadiers. Still great set and good value.
The unit card says Panzergrenadier too. Is that also wrong? I have this set, and the older 3rd edition Open Fire set, but have not built them up yet.

I dont believe the M4 76mm was used on D Day but only arrived weeks later after Tigers and Panthers were encountered.

Sadly no. The decals were never included in any of the starter sets.

Does the anti tank gun count as infantry or do you use it the same as the tank
Fires the same as a tank, but has a save like infantry!!
