I didn't see anyone mentioning this, during the riddle of recollection she will show you how many riddles you've answered. She lights up the correct number "peacock eyes" on her wings when she ask you to place the stones.
You can also just look at your queat details it it literally tells you how many you have solved
PRO TIP: for the first seeker token riddle, LEAVE IT FOR LAST. You are allowed to get one riddle wrong and she will fly away to her next spot if this is the one you cant do. The only reward you wont get is the ferrystones. Because of this for the riddle of recollection you have to put one less than the answer you think it is. Depending on which riddle number you get it at. For instance if its riddle #7, then the answer would be 5 instead of 6.
Thank you so much for this tip. I was over here stressed out that wont progress with the Sphinx cause I dont remember where I picked up my first token. I've picked up like 30 already and all of them were unintentional "Oh hey whats that shiny thing"

Hey Rage gaming videos, quick guide for you and your fans. To get the Woodland wordsmith specialization, you go to sacred arbor. Go to the inn keeper and give her a gift of flowers or tombs, sleep for the night, do it again, sleep and do it again. And on the third gift she will give the specialization. Hope this helps someone on their adventures.

Another strategy would be using an INN save at the beginning of the 7 days and after looking for them for 6 days, revert back to the save and use process of elimination

You do not need to go through the battlegrounds at all. You can just climb the mountain from the campfire site in the misty marshes where the dullahan quest battle is at. There's nothing on the mountain path except some harpies. Way easier and faster than going through the battlegrounds. I discovered this myself. Just jump along the cliff and take the ledges up until you find crumbled ruin steps. It'll take you to the campfire outside the Sphinx's shrine. Edit: Also because of all the other players trying to trick others into taking their Pawns by naming them after the quest Pawn, you will likely need to turn off network connection under Settings to actually get the real Capcom Pawn to show up in the Rift.

I used a SphinxFather pawn made by a player, it worked for me. I’m guessing the name has to be exact but it doesn’t have to be Capcom’s.
As long as the Moniker for the Pawn is SphinxMother/Father/Parent it should work, regardless of whether it is Capcom or Player.

For those who might be struggling to find Virgil/ Dante. They are both in the checkpoint town despite what the game says. Dante is in the town itself whereas Virgil is on the other side of the gate. He is not in Bakbattahl like that game says he is.
Since that is the border town between the 2 countries, by being on the other side of the gate Virgil IS technically located in Bakbattahl...just not that far away.

Yes, Vergil will be inside the Inn
found my way to the sphinx from the Misty Marshes, there is a path to climb to the north of the west entrance/exit to area. From there you fight a lich that drops Black Crystal. It is some place to the north west from the lich location. Just try to find a way to climb and you will noticed the area has harpies as you climb and the fog gets clear. Just keep climbing past a rack lizard and eventually you will get to the broken stairs that leads to the sphinx. You star from Abandoned Home where the lich can be found which there is a riftstone and a campsite, doing this path to the sphinx you will find another campsite on top of the maintain in some point of the climb, seems to be the closest campsite to the sphinx first encounter.
In my opinion by far the best item to give for Conviction is a Port Crystal. You'll get one from the Madness riddle chest and you can get two for the price of one almost instantly

For the madness one you only need your main pawn not all 3.

For rumination, the detection augment from trickster does work for the finders token, was able to go to retrace my steps from the first two towns and found it
easier way to remember how many riddles u finished is just check how many chest u have unlocked and add 5 chest from the previous temple ez.
Good thing i remember where my first seeker token was. It was in a bird nest on top of a hill north of melve

PRO Tip : before the last riddle stay at the checkpoint in and if she fly's away when fighting her jump off the cliff and reload from last in rest and she respawns
So for those who don't know....do not use the Arrow until the sphinx is engaged in combat or it literally does nothing

they actually have a lot of capcom characters.. especially under the "unique pawns" like M. Bison (street fighter) i think there is several names you can choose when creating your pawn from other capcom games to.
Just Tested the Seeker token riddle for NG+ it's the first token you find every reset. So keep track of the first one you pick up PER PLAYTHROUGH

But for the seeker token it is a very important Fact that when you start NG+
The finder token will reset to the first seeker location that you found in this playtrough
No matter how many of them you found before
So you could just chose one and make it to the later finder token

I found it out way too late but got platin thanks to that fact
I dismissed every other pawn but my main pawn stocked up on stamina regen items used both of the theifs ultimates to try and burn her health down to zero before my pawn screws it up and it worked
The 1st seeker can be found with the detection augment

Honestly, I found it it took an hour. Basically what I did is. I went to an interactive map and looked for all the guaranteed spots for those tokens in the beginning area near me and that's where I found it.

The name of the pawn must be SphinxParent, but the real question is, does it need to be from capcom? or any pawn named that will do? does SphinxMother really work? As there are so many people that named their main pawn as either of the names. So if does not matter who created the pawn as long as the name is correct then we don't need to travel to Harve.
Pro tip. Leave the finders coin for last. Took me more than 7 in game days but i found it while exploring. It was near the rest town on the way too it in fact for me lol.
Only do this if you don't know where it is, lol.
Just did new game plus and on that playthrough waited for the Vernworth token in the fountain in the middle of town. Then when that riddle came up I ferrystoned in to town went to the fountain and it was there. Its important to know your second playthrough or new game plus starts over a new first location. Worked like a charm. This walk-through is perfect btw. Thanks a lot. 😁
My first token was in the Harpy's Nest just a bit northward from Melve. I remembered where I got my first handful of tokens after wandering all of creation just to explore, but I didn't remember which order.
I even remember what skills I had, how I approached the nest. It was a godssend, but I feel sorry for folks who had to do a replay just to learn this harsh lesson 😂
Same. That was my first token as well. I was wondering why harpies needed a giant plate, then realized it was a coin. That's how I remembered mine.
Save that arrow and kill it as a duo! I set my main pawn as direct healing, celerity, etc. (no dps from pawn). Be sure to save at an Inn in case you fail! My first time with 4 I got her down to 1/4 left on her last bar before she left. Decided to just control the fight as a duo and was easy, but a little slow.
There’s no time limit so you can control all the damage to her butt. I did it on my first try with just 1 healer pawn. I was level 40 but my rogue was only level 5.
Bring lots of potions as your max HP might get low
Welp after all that, i failed the fight even after giving a pawn the unmaking arrow. Tried to return to last save but apparently it auto saved too quick. So no last chest for me lmfao. Wonderful

My finder was on top of a stone near harve village. I remember this one because you tend to slide multiple times just to reach it eventhough it looks so easy
Outside of the cave where the quest for sorcerer and warrior vocations takes place, there's a giffon. I rode that when it tried to fly away and its nest was close to the Sphinx.
hey quick info, she drops a unique weapon for the trickster that give you gold every time you swing it with a weapon skill. its a low drop rate but i got it.
Someone suggested to leave the seeker token riddle for last, which I agree with.
But if you wanted to try it out because you remember getting one early on in the game: you could look up a guide for all the starting seeker tokens and run to those locations BEFORE accepting the Riddle, and actually complete the guide.
As you complete the guide, you can mark off:
1) Got this token through the guide
2) I must have already gotten this token
Can you just grab on to the sphinx a second time when it decides to flee and see where it leads ?
Can't grab hold of her. I found out the hard way after not hitting her and ruining my run
Fun fact: if you hold off on turning in the jade quest, after buying it from the counterfeiter; you can use it at the sphinx to get 2, and thereby get both quest rewards.
Or give the beastren the counterfeit
Bit of a waste of the free item dupe when you can get both rewards already using the forgery system
So my second to last puzzle was throw the guy off the cliff, and my last puzzle was how many have you completed, which were so easy I totally forgot I still had that ring equipped from the “fight” so I fought her with the decreased damage ring on! So what was a 3-4 minute fight might have been more like 1 minute had I remembered to unequip that!

@@Zephy_Sky so on my second play through now and just did sphinx again and after the “fight with the bad ring” one, the next one I had to go back to battahl and once again, forgot I had the ring equipped still and was like “holy shit when did goblins take like 20 hits each? Is this what NG+ is?! And realized… oh, that damn ring again… -_-
Hahahaha for the record, I haven’t noticed anything different in NG+ except that the dragon forged now offers much more he can do for you than previously. Like there are multiple tabs in his menu that weren’t there before of stuff you can spend dragon crystals on!
I kinda like this sorta quest, it reminds of of those really random and difficult quests that gamed used to have where some insignificant detail is the difference between you getting some cool stuff or just fucking yourself
With all these videos that you guys are making, I believe by the time that I get around to playing this game I'll be well prepared.

PSA if you cant find your first seeker token again. You are NOT LOOKED OUT just wait 7 days and you can contunie with the quest. Also this riddle counts not to "solved" riddles for later

I gave her the unmaking arrow for The Riddle of Conviction. Now I have 2 Unmaking Arrows!
Of course i grqbbed the Sphinx pawn and it had the plague as it was my first pop up, lucily there was 3 more sphinx pawns with one matching
It’s at the point, it’s been so long that really my only chance to properly complete her seeker token riddle is a fresh save 😂
I saw someone make the tip before I started playing, but for some reason I got “remember to place a port crystal there to remember the spot” with “Remmeber where you place your first port crystal, it’s one of the riddles.”
What I figured out for the seekers token riddle is if you don’t know where to look , you can go to the oracle located in vernworth to the right of the port crystal and maybe she can give you a hint
tysm! I just got my eternal wakestone. I panicked so hard when it was time to unalive her and i almost didnt get her. I got her as she was almost gone😭
I just found this out moments ago, if you new game+ the seeker token that is your “first” will be the first you collected THAT playthrough, so I’m on my 3rd playthrough and my “first” was the one in the cave just before getting to the sphinx
Just done this today,, you don't have to get the finder token(1st seeker) it will just skip the quest without unlocking the box for you and you can complete the whole quest without it ,note that it still counts as solved one when she asks how many riddles you solved+ you won't get the trophy for completing all riddles of course so you will have to do it again in a new game +
The token one spawns a new one at the location.
Sleep at inn/house and search around starting area with detection perk.
She gave me the Riddle of Recollection last and I had to rush to get the arrow. She had already taken flight by the time I turned around.
A note on the Finder's Token. Forgeries of it count as legitimate copies. So instead of turning it in, duplicate it and save yourself the headache of having to remember where your first token on a run is. You can also help out people asking for one as a pawn quest!
Just so ya know DON'T use the eternal wake stone on yourself or anyone!!!!! Its a one time use for saving a calamity that befalls later

Just a BIG HINT, KEEP THE STONE for a certain thing that can happen, but it is not guaranteed, but if it happens you will know and trust you will need it then

I just tested the wisdom riddle, & it was correct with any pawn with “sphinxparent” as moniker. Didn’t matter if it was capcom

I just found out the part where you throw the soldier off the cliff no longer works, I did that and she got upset and left. I ended up fighting him and he’s super tanky but I lured him to where my pawns were waiting and they helped me kill him and she was pleased with that.

He has to die from fall damage, so make sure you're close enough to see him land

I'm more annoyed that NO ONE mentioned it in any of the videos I watched before I started. Not a single person said, "Hey, just make a note of where you find your first one because you'll need that location later on."

I discovered the sphinx randomly how would anyone doing a tutorial know that you haven't discovered your first already ?

You can also use the Sealing Phial item from the first location of the sphinx the very first riddle infact (the item above the door).
It swallows up an NPC and it stays in your inventory and then you can just simply release it near the Sphinx.

I was following another guide for this quest and I was told to give the golden beetle for riddle of conviction. Oh well, opportunity to duplicate a port crystal missed.
It’s whatever you hold most valuable to you. I also missed out on duplicating a port crystal because I didn’t have one in my inventory at the time. So I duplicated a Wakestone.
For the counting one, just look at the chests behind her. If you've been opening them as they unlock. Just add 5 to the amount unlocked. 2 unlocked plus 5 (previous), equals 7. simple.
5 first time seeing and unlocking plus the 1 for finding her then how ever many you unlock into she asks how many
As the phynx leaves just jump on her she will fly you all the way. Make sure to grab her when shes in the cave as she goes up.

the only thing you miss not getting that "remembrance" one, with your first seeker token is 3 ferrystones.. (and delaying the achievement / trophy.. it's easier on new game+ anyway, just get one seeker token and go to the sphinx right away)
Omg I was up to the sphinx parents riddle. I Goto harve village notice that the usernames on some of them were not Capcom. I turn off network and restarted the game. I got both the father and mother, but when I hired the sphinx mother I got the dragonsplague warning.
You could make it to the sphinx from bhatal I actually climbed up the big waterfall and it was how I found the sphinx the second time.
Theres a statue that hints this plus the waterfall look climbable from the camp site that’s closest to it. But man I climbed the waterfall and was like wtf is this there’s something on top here 🤨and found the sphinx
I couldnt even start her fight. She literally flew off and the arrow was the last thing i unlocked. Wtf!?
Also if you do this early, you have access to Baktahhl or whatever its called. just drop a port once your inside the area. no need for a immigration passport (although it does seem its harder to get into Baktaahl than it is to get into America)

You can make a forgery of the arrow, sure, but the forgery will not hold any power whatsoever. Just like you couldn't forge a wakestone, wakestone shard or the Maker's Finger (essentially the Unmaking Arrow) in the first game. You can make copies all you like, but they ain't going to do crap except look pretty and sell for a varying amount of gold.

Any forgery item wont work as its not real
@@burg3rlessturd599 they work very well for quests that require an item to be given to one or another person. Make a forgery and complete both sides of the quest.

They are literally everywhere. I usually have about 3 at all times. If your a thief I've pilfered about 10 of them
PRO TIP: At game start above the shop in the first camp is a seeker token on the roof. Just ALWAYS make it your first token on every playthrough. Easiest to find and probably first one you can come to anyway. No marker needed. No muss. No fuss.
I prefer the ballista at Melve, because you can take an ox cart to Melve, but you cannot take an ox cart to the camp.
Don't forget to remove the ring of "derision "after solving the riddle of contest. I didn't know why I was dealing 0 damage when I was fighting her.
I just ran a thief and my pawn as a healer for the final fight. Clinging to her backside slashing away while my pawn healed me from the other side of the arena. Super easy fight.
my advise, to any new players, theirs a seeker token on top of the inn with three chests in vermond, it's not right on top of the inn, but you can find a video easy showing it, granted if you already been playing you might not have gotten that one first >.>
I don't know what the state was when you made this guide but on ps5, you can not go from the border town to the sphinx. There is a cliff facing that is very very tall blocking. You must go through the desert. There is a goat trail to get you up but you will lose a pawn or two, because harpies roost along the trail.

Just rest in checkpoint town inn before doing this quest if you mess up just return to title screen and load save from last inn end of story it's not the end of the world if you miss up this quest.... -.-

So I actually did come over the waterfall from Bakbattahl. It was a little hard to see the path but there is one. I was just exploring and found the second location of the sphinx by chance.
DO NOT start with the Unmaking Arrow.
I figured I'd just save time and shoot it from the start of the fight.
Turns out, that just triggers the Spinx "rage quit" dialogue. It flies off, and now you have no last ditch 1-shot arrow... tf
Hers a tip for everyone on the very last trial instead of fighting her just shoot her with the untamed arrow she be pleased that you defeated her and drop the key

The Seeker Token part was something. Oddly remembered exactly where I got my first one!
3 times I failed because she took damage in the wrong place. My sorcerer was using maelstrom when she got pissed and flew away. So I think pawns can make it harder.
So on my 4th attempt I hurled my pawns off the cliff. I did it solo. It was a long fight but got it done.
Um, you can just tell them to WAIT.
The pawns won't stay on the peddestal, they just go back to the entrance
Nah first this game gave the hardest riddle where i had to bring the vase to that one guy and now i need to find vergil 😅
I just finished all the riddles and killed the Sphinx... You don't need to use the Unmaking Arrow, it's true.
However, it's very difficult to not hit her head and chest when you have pawns with you.
The first time I tried to defeat her with a Sorcerer aiming only on its back, it didn't worked and she ran away.
The second time I wasn't aware that the Unmaking Arrow is only usable by Archer, I thought Magick Archer could use it, but turns out it can't.
I succeed against her with Magick Archer's Ultimate Skill, which took only two uses to take her down... I think it does so much damage that she couldn't avoid but to give the f* key. xD
Juat a heads up after you answered 9 riddles the arrow u get from chest won't shoot. I just slaughtered sphinx ez with sword and shield I just attacked her before answering last riddle which was the 1 shot arrow in chest I didn't care for that but got the eternal wake stone.
If you jump and hold on her back, legs and or but you can ensure you do not hit the wrong spots
!!PSA!! you can counterfeit the finders tokens for riddle 5 and give them to friends!
Hey everyone and ragegamingvideos, bring up a issue/bug with new game plus and the Sphinx.
The Riddle of Conviction, seems to have a bug with a Portcrystal.
Ok so, what has happened twice, me trying to get another Portcrystal but when I trying to place one, It doesn't seem to work and you lose both of the Portcrystals.
Keep in mind only when I've been having this issue in new game plus It doesn't work.
It seems, at least when I tried to place it directly outside of the Sphinx's temple.
Don't know if it's just me, Just letting people know of it and if it's worth you for guys to make a video about it. 🤷♂️

I killed the sphinx and it still flew away. 100% took out all its health and instead of dying it flew away never touched the head or front of it.
I FORGOT TO ATTACK HER AFTER DELIVERING THE REDHEAD GUY. THE GOLD CHEST TAUNTS ME😥😭

funny how I thought I wasn't strong enough to kill her at the end so I immediately tried the unmaking arrow... a huge miss...so I went combo Augural Flare plus SkullSplitter and she literally exploded in 1 boom lol. I was strong enough i guess lol
What’s the best use for the sealing phial? I’m open to spoilers just don’t read replies if you havent finished game
I am not using the phials for the riddles I feel like it would be a waste if I did
