Richard Skipper I’m a drummer and believe me, it takes a certain type of talent and drive to play like Danny. I completely get that. He’s a very special talent. Its more than just his performances, the way he writes his drum parts Is mind blowing.

This song was SO intense live, and Roi's keyboard solo gave me chills like no other. I was completely overwhelmed with emotion watching them play together, it was just absolutely incredible.

descending is so fucking insanely heavy and dramatic. its the kind of song you wait 13 years for. the tribal death metal parts danny and justin are playing under the solos, adam's solos have this really uncomfortable thing about them that reminds me of the rite of spring by igor stravinsky. maenads approach of being a walking, talking stratavarius violin in this song....its such a fascinating song. thank you tool. seriously, thank you. i had no idea a song like this could ever exist in any way.

The fact that Maynard can still do Part of Me that well gives me hope for the future. I know Danny wants to get back in the studio and record some new stuff or maybe do an EP and if Maynard can return to the forefront of some of the songs then we could have another insane Tool album again. Fear Inoculum was great, but Maynard taking a backseat for the entire album kinda made a lot of the songs just be another Adam solo, or another Danny crack fest. I need another Maynard scream!
Adam Jones is probably the only guitar player I know of that became better throughout their career. Legends like Jimmy Page and Rick Nielsen got lazy and sloppy later on, but you would have to be stupid to say that about Adam.
In Vicarious does Maynard not sing the "Vicariously I, live while the whole world dies" because it hurts his voice.... or.... because he's vicariously letting the crowd sing that part, 'much better you than I' makes a lot more sense that way.
Benly Minh he sang it on one of the shows this year also. Which ever show it was they played Part Of Me for the first time, he also sang the final bit of Vicarious.

Tool is all about visual experience and like the guy said... they want you to enjoy the show instead of being on your damn phone the entire time. Social media and phones have fucked alot of things up now days it's sad. Why can we just got back to the good ol days? Where people actually paid attention

It never made any sense to me that Danny Carey doesn't get the credit he deserves, All of them... i mean musically these guys are fucking masters of their instruments.
Great performance, glad they played this song. However when that keyboardist came on stage and started adding those synth swells around 16:16, it was really messing with the vibe of the song for me - tuning out rest of the other instruments. I was lowkey glad he eventually left.

I was at this show and Pittsburgh. This was by far my favorite song they performed. Vicarious was next in line. Brilliant performance.
I saw them in San Diego and LA, and both times they played The Pot instead of this song, I was so bummed this is one of my favorites
