Thank you! I keep thinking about editing the laughter out, but then again it just shows how awesome a bike is! 😆 If I’m not laughing in my helmet, it’s not a fun bike! 👍🏻
I own a faired 650 bandit k8 & love it. Took the GSX S1000GT for a test ride - what a bike. Absolutely loved it. It can be as smooth and as gentle as you want, or a complete beast. The engine howl, gorgeous. Gears, buttery smooth. I see you loved it as much as I did. Good review & ride 👍🏻
Cheers! Yes, I am generally not a big fan of inline fours but this bike and its engine proper impressed me! If I was in the market for a sports tourer it would be top of the list I think!
I've just come from the ninja 1000sx to the GSXR and it's a proper riders bike. Got mine in the new candy red 2024. Great review mate. It's a lovely bike and a beast on A mode
It's still up there as one of my favourite bikes 've test ridden! And definitely one of the most engaging 4 cylinder engines I have ever ridden! If I was in the market for a sports tourer, this bike would still be at the very top of the list! 👍🏻
I just bought one of these - it is awesome! I also have a 2017 BMW R1200R and a 2021 MT09SP - I rode all 3 back to back and the Suzuki is the most comfortable and the smoothest, and the quickest - the windblast is similar on all 3 bikes - but I believe that the touring screen with a Puig visor solves any windblast issues - have one on order
It really is one smooth machine isn't it! I generally find 4 cylinders boring but this motor is different. If I had to have a 4 pot engined bike, this would be the one! I'll be interested to hear how you get on with the touring screen and visor. 👍🏻
I bought a Knock off Touring Screen on Ali Express - identical to the Original but $100AUS cheaper - I found this to be very good, I'm 5ft 8 and instead of the wind hitting me across the shoulders and under the chin it now hits the top of the visor - perfectly acceptable in a Shoei GT Air II(without ear plugs) - I've since tried this touring screen with a 36 x 16cm clip on reflector /visor and there is virtually no noise or buffeting at all - very very good
Thanks for the review, I also live in Northampton so know the dealership and the route you took. I would try it because I do miss my old Bandit 650 (K9) and this would be far more advanced however the problem for me be the weight @ 226Kg. Currently ride a 2019 Tiger 800 XRt, as much as I love it as I am getting older the weight is a problem when manoeuvring so think I need to look for something lighter. The obvious choice would be the new Tiger Sport 660 but would miss the spec I have on my 800 XRt.
Hi Les, I have owned a ‘07 Bandit 650, a ‘11 Tiger 800 roadie, ‘15 tiger 800 xrx, and tiger 900 GTPRO so we have a similar biking history. I also have a weak right leg and bad knee as a result of a crash in 2015. So weight is certainly a very important factor for me when riding a bike. I honestly recommend you speak to Motorcycle World and at least give the Suzuki a test ride, you will be amazed at how well it carries it’s weight! It doesn’t feel anywhere near it’s quoted weight and I never once feared I was going to drop it, even when paddling it about at a standstill. Compared to my old 800s, it felt night & day lighter as the weight of those is much higher up! It handled far better than it’s weight would suggest too! The Tiger 660 is also a great bike though, though not as powerful as the GSX it was still fast and fun enough. I have recently done a test ride video on the Tiger as well. 👍🏻
I think they are guilty of making some rather uninspiring machines at times, but when they get it right as with this one, they get it very right indeed! I'm really liking the look of the new GSX8S too, wouldn't mind giving one of them a try!
@@ukveganbikers …..true enough buddy….but in the stable Ive got a Gsx14 and a Gen 2 Busa from Suzuki and they are awesome bikes…… Got a ride on a gsxs-8 the other day at my mate shop while he moted another bike for me and its a laugh to ride but wouldn’t own one as you’ve got to keep it on the boil and change gears too often for my liking….. @@markjones3551 I rode the Gen 3 Busa last year and wow, what a cracking bike that is too! Never tried a GSX1400 though, always liked the look of them. I need to try the Kawasaki SX at some point, never had the chance to either!
Even if you didn't say anything about the bike, your loughter every now and then says it all. One question please, how is the torgue? Do you have it to rev it alot to get some torgue? I m asking because now i own a bandit 1250S and i m thinkng to change (after 14 years being happy with the bandit) to this bike but I m afraid that I will have to rev it alot to get some descent torgue that I was getting from my bandit at very low revs. Wonderful review!
Thanks for the kind words! The engine in this thing is absolutely brilliant. It’s super flexible and has surprisingly got plenty of pull at low revs. This bike made me enjoy 4 cylinders again. I test rode a S1000XR last year and hated it because it was gutless lower down the rev range, you had to rev the nuts off it everywhere to make progress. The GSX-S1000GT isn’t like that, there was pretty much decent power all the way through the rev range. If you are moving up from the bandit, I think this is a bike you will really enjoy! 👍🏻
@@ukveganbikers Τhank you, thank you and thank you again! You have been very helpfull. This comparison with S1000XR says it all! You are my kind of rider :)
@@gerokatseros I upset a few S1000XR owners on that video by giving my honest thoughts on it! 😆 But I just hated it. The engine isn’t anywhere near as engaging as the Suzuki lump! Let me know if you do end up buying one, I’d be interested to know! 👍🏻
@@ukveganbikers I am between GT, Ninja 1000 SX and Africa Twin (yes, it has nothing to do with the other bikes but i love the looks and the low torgue) , if I buy one I will let you know, it's hard to say goodbye to my lovely Bandit 1250.
Hi sir is it possible to sit on seat furture back for much more leaning and sporty riding position or seat always push u forward ? And the second question is , does the bike feel heavy? On twisty roads i like to lean my body out from bike left or right , does it possible on this bike? Im currently using 2022xsr900 and twisty road is very easy with my bike and i can sit on seat furture back and the seat give me permission for it, it doesnt push me front as 2021 mt09 did...what about gsx s1000 gt?
Hi, For me there was plenty of room to move around, and it felt like you could do a bit of both, forward and backwards as needed. It definitely did not feel heavy, and it handled fantastically. In fact the bike I had wore Michelin Road 6 tyres and the whole package just felt sublime. This bike amazed me, I enjoyed it far more than I was expecting to.
Just wondering the reason for needlessly stand there and rev the engine up to rev limiter, what useful information are we viewers to derive from that? Does look a fun bike.

I’m seriously considering this bike but the last thing I want to hear is that the mill is a “typical” four cylinder. If the phenomenal K5 has somehow been distilled down to typical, I think I’ll pass. Thing is, finding a dealership able to demo the S1000GT has been next to impossible so . . .
