Well you’ll have to wait until the end of the year to see Li Auto’s first full EV. They have claimed they will have 5 BEVs by 2025 as well as their EREV series.
Just visited Beijing last week, happened to visit a mall with many EV cars showrooms. Of all the cars I like this L9 the most. Was told it cost 500.000rmb.
As a product I think it's one of the best easily. Online a lot of hat for Li Auto due to their the EREV drivetrain. But soon they will bring their first pure EV to market...so then the haters will have nothing to say... As a vehicle it is sublime.
Thanks for the great review! A few questions: 1. What was the fuel consumption in hybrid mode when you were doing 120kmh on the highway? 2. For European drivers, do you think the engine-generator can cope with higher speeds, say 180kmh? 3. Does Li9 have artificial engine sound as an option? Thanks!
1) 23-26mpg at mph (US) or 28-30mpg (UK) or 9-10L/100km 2) 180kph is the L9’s top speed 3) No artificial engine sounds as far as i know. Seems counter intuitive with how much effort they went to in order to make it so quiet. Also remember this is EREV so the engine isn’t “connected” to anything in a traditional way. It also doesn’t “Rev” just kinda steps up and sits at certain rpms…you wouldn’t want to hear it lol
thats just the fuel consumption at constant 120kph. so brake regen doesnt really come into it on the highway so much. That’s why around town its consumption is much better.
Also these are at WTLC rather than the more optimistic NEDC/CTLC. It’s claimed WTLC fuel consumption is 7.8L/100km - 30.1mpg (US) - 36mpg (UK/Imperial)
HAHA. No no. Only when its empty. But it does go way further forwards than i showed…if i wasnt filming me moving it I’d have moved it before we set off.
I really love the Li9, and the and the NOA experience was fantastic. From Toll2Toll experience I’d score it a 4/5 while I put the Xpeng P7 NGP Xpilot 3.0 a 2/7. But mate, what’s all this thing about self-development folks are latching into these days? It’s annoyingly some inferiority complex IMO. Let’s do great cars, if parts come from all around the world that’s even a plus, because it touts the global-ness. I got pissed when a sales guy at NIO felt they could impress me by that. Nevertheless, the Li9 is a great contender for my P7 replacement.
In-house tuning allows them to tune to how they want it. the problem they say is “Bosch” for example is tuning for a global market. Then might change some things if you are big enough of a buyer. like Benz or VAG.
so imagine a road in China and a road in the UK/US. they pose different challenges. Li are basically saying they are able to tune everything to how they want it. focus on certain things more. like better moped recognition and behaviour. Or the fact you can set the L9 to pass a truck giving it more room.
im already got comfirm order of L9 in 21 july deliver at end of Oct . totally same car external (internal) even the wheel hub you drive in this video . how 's you feel . after test driver i feel L9 little be like my BMW X5 .😂😂😂
Congrats! I will take delivery of my NIO ET7 very soon…so maybe I’ll buy a Li L9 in the future. Compared to an X5 this car is bigger in every way, inside and outside. It’s a comfortable car and the CDC & Air suspension should really help keep things comfortable on bad broken tarmac around the city
@@ChinaDriven i perpare to sell my Buick GL8 change for L9 we want a 6-7 seats family car ,we also do test drive ES8 and tengshi D9. for ES8 it's quite old lanched 3 years ,and pure EV is improper for road trip or long drive , we do love road trip . tengshi D9 my wife dislike MPV . all the female of my family and child really like L9 ,cos they can watch soap opera in the car 😂😂😂 which city you live in china my friend? i come from changsha city hunan province
Nice video BTW, and No you didn’t jump into any X7 and GLS…get out of here. If I had the quid… of course it will be the GLS or X7... 😂 Brand also is something. 😉
So the video is me sitting in the passenger seat. with an arm on the centre console and an arm on the door rest. relaxed. then the movement is most due to the way they try to deal with offering comfort. the BMW does wallow around. the Li L9 is better at catching the car and stopping secondary rebounds. the GLS is a lot firmer than both. the body doesn’t roll as much. but it is firmer. on road these are all going to be comfortable.
But do bear in mind, I’d expect the BMW X7 to be a better driving car on-road dynamically. The Li L9 ticks a lot of boxes. But pure driving pleasure isn’t going to be one.
What a strange way to introduce a new car...no video showing the interior particularly the cockpit, second row,the trunk, engine the specification and the price. I think the ride should come last.
Thanks for the comment. The ride did indeed come last! here is the link to the first media launch event where we covered the interior, exterior, dimensions and features. th-cam.com/video/TOVH8BmPJRk/w-d-xo.html these were two separate media events. The link is to the first video where the car was only static and not able to be driven. This video was the second launch event where we were invited to drive it. hence why it focuses on the driving side of it ;) The price was not announced when the first video was published. But the price is 459,800rmb or $65.7k US
Awesome review, Will! We are really looking forward to driving the L9 as well.
I’ll definitely keep an eye out for that! Excited to see what you think. Can we expect a fanny pack?

Be sure to let the sales person drive you around while you enjoy the back seat as well. Don’t miss out on the opportunity
truly amazing. keep good working on the great reviews.
Thanks a ton!
excellent review! wish I watched this a year ago, and I wouldn't have bought the toyota sienna..... huge regrets!
Thanks for watching now! perhaps in the future
Do you know, if it will be available as well in Europe or just in Asia and US?
no plans for the Li L9 to be sold outside of China I’m afraid

we’ve heard no plans or serious rumours of the Li Auto EREV coming to Europe
