I probably got my 10,000 hours in as a kid of the wrong thing, playing this game instead of spending more time pmayong real baseball. I wore out 4 cartridges, still have one waiting to be used. When i was a young teen, I created excel spread sheets and kept stats of half seasons (full seasons woukd erase stats after the break so small or medium were better. I later in my 20's when Myspace was a thing started a group for anyone out there to email me their screen shots and had a top 20 list of Homeruns, RBI, Avg ect and actually had quite a few guys participating. Chile Davis on the Angels is a absolute monster, put their two speed 10 guys infront of him with Tim Salmon behind him and it was over. The huge buff dudes with the bent over stance have almost an uppercut to their swing and hit more bombs then say Griffey/Bonds who were more straight up and had super long bats for some reason. I need to get something going like that again, at one point no human could beat me at this game, use the cubs with all their defense 9 and 10 guys, move Mark Graces 10 defense to shortstop and nobody can get a hit lol. 😂

The game has a Major League Baseball (MLB) license but not a Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) license, meaning that the game has real stadiums and real teams, but not real players (except Ken Griffey Jr.). The fictitious players have the same statistics as their real-world counterparts, and the game comes with a name-changing feature that allows players to change the athletes' names. Nintendo released a portable version of the game in 1997 for the Game Boy with real players and stats from the 1996 season. The gameplay is similar to its predecessors, though it is sometimes sluggish due to hardware restrictions. The SNES version came with a promotional Griffey collector's card packed inside. It is often rated by the public as one of the best baseball games of all time as said.

They should add this to SNES NSO, with the following changes:
--Ken Griffey stays with Seattle (since he retired, after joining the Reds)
--The MLB team colors altered a bit
--The fictional edited names, it can stay
--Addition to the Washington Nationals, Arizona Diamondbacks, Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Angels, Cleveland Guardians, and the Miami Marlins; The stadiums change, too
--Also, The Brewers and the Astros swap Leagues
--Add maybe online play to the game in NSO
Now if only Nintendo gets in touch with MLB. And hey, maybe this game appears in NSO, as the game's 30th anniversary, since this was made in 1994 (the year the MLB went on strike).

I strongly prefer the Genesis version, because of the blood and gun violence being more realistic while the SNES version is more cartoon like and women screaming when they are shot and vanished. LOL! Both versions are fun, besides the fact I can't really handle the SNES that well, compared to the Sega Genesis version. There's a cheat code for the Genesis version that'll give you 54 lives. @@VideoGaming4U Can you reread that comment. I've had to update it a little? You can have 54 lives if you put in this cheat code. This only works with the Genesis version.

@@sonicmariodonkeykongzelda8466 Thanks, I will for sure use that! If anything, I can just do a cheated play thru of the game. I'll play around with the game, practice it, and see if I can't get it up.

Jim C ok yes first off, weirdest but coolest thing ever. The ONLY baseball game I've ever seen do this. Every other baseball game you swing the bat a bunch of times before the pitch and the bat looks the exact same. This game, when you move around in the box and swing the bat, the bat would change shape. If you got yourself in the correct position the bat would morph into this curved, weird jai alai looking thing where part of the bat would be curved (almost like a fat nike check) with a point on the end. If you timed it right and swung a little late and hit the ball in that curve, you would crush the ball. Also if you swung early and pulled the ball and hit it right on the end of that point (again picture the Nike swoosh), you would crush the ball. It didnt work every single time but most of the time. I always found this fascinating because it wasnt like every other baseball game where all you had to do was hit it on the barrel and it was a RIP. Sometimes you could barrel it perfect and it went nowhere. Also I should add I was completely obsessed with this game and would play it a lot of times through the night without sleeping. Other cool things were there were actually errors once in a great while. It would bounce off the fielder but it was extremely rare. Also if you robbed a home run the ball's shadow would disappear when you threw it back to the pitcher. And last but not least, when I would play for a long time, hours, there was this error in the game where my left fielder would switch from a left to right hander
