  • Trail cameras provide a huge advantage to deer hunters by monitoring an area day and night. And if you can locate a buck, you can formulate a plan to hunt him. These days, cellular-based trailcams that send images of deer to your cell phone while you sit in the recliner will make you lazy. But they sure are fun! But they aren't without their problems:
    1. This relatively new technology has been unreliable in the past; but software is continually improving.
    2. They require a monthly contract for service, so they can get expensive.
    3. They eat batteries like crazy.
    So after testing all of them, JJ wanted to know how the new StealthCam Reactor performs. In short, it was the easiest to set up, one of the most reliable and battery efficient unit JJ has ever tested. See the full video for yourself before you buy.
    Happy hunting!
    PS: These cameras also make great and inexpensive security cameras for your house, campsite, equipment and property.

    Awesome, I'm going to buy a couple. Found a solar panel w/5000 mAH lithium battery combo I'm going to pick up with these since I live a couple hours away from my hunting area.

      Update: can’t figure out how to get video, when I select video in settings, they just come across as burst photos about 3-4 seconds apart. Never video

    Thanks for the Review, JJ! I’m from Eastern Oklahoma myself and have been searching for the best budget friendly cell camera. I have several of the Tactacam Reveal X’s and they are pretty decent. Didn’t live up to the hype of trying forever to find one though (IMO). The battery life is very poor, even with lithium’s. They eat batteries in a hurry, the picture quality is extremely pixilated sent to your phone, and the recovery time isn’t great. I definitely feel like I miss a lot of pictures due to that. Would be cool to see you do a comparison of the entry level cell cams. Reveal, Bushnell Cellucor, Fusion X Stealth, this Reactor one, etc.
    Overall how is your Reactor holding up still? Pretty good battery life? What would you recommend for an external power source to negate the battery usage? A solar panel, 12v battery hookup, etc?

    Can you sync from your phone versus waiting for the next automatic sync from your camera?

    • @qmyers367
      @qmyers367 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can command sync. It pretty much send automatically. Or when you have scheduled the camera to work

    I want to buy this for my brother’s new acreage in Pollock Pines. Could he get snapshots sent to his phone if he has T-Mobile?

    • @briancox1136
      @briancox1136 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. It should work just fine as long as Verizon or AT&T have service where you plan to leave the cam.

    How long did batteries last?

    • @qmyers367
      @qmyers367 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on how many pictures and videos it takes, if it is constantly turning on and taking pictures or videos, it will only last a month, or several hundred pictures

    Non-Existent support. 6 hours nothing. See how many days it takes to get customer support. Hell of a way to sell a product. DON'T BUY, RUN!
