SPYPOINT FLEX Trail Camera Worth It?

  • One of the biggest complaints about budget friendly trail cams has always been the image quality. Does the SPYSPOINT flex fix that? The no eye deer boys got their hands on one, got it out in the woods and now review the all new spypoint flex. Check it out and see if it's worth the money and the upgrade as they put it up against the micro.

    I have 11 of the micro links and by becoming an insider all my cameras get bumped up to 250 pics a month. When hunting season comes around I simlpy buy a package per camera that I'm getting more traffic on and it works for me. Will be looking at the new Flex with the panel when it comes out.

      Terrible company behind the scenes. I bought my first camera in 2016. My camera was stolen. And spypoint would not help me locate the camera. Even though they had exact gps location. I then bought two more cameras in 2018. I didn’t set them up until 2022. And realized the issue. Both arrived with bad barcodes and did not work. Spypoint then wanted proof of purchase from two years ago. And would not replace or fix the issue. Wasted money. They are not a US company. They are a European company that does not care.

      Spypoints, I’ve had issues but not many and when I do if I simply replace batteries, clear sd and format over again it’ll be just fine. I’ve had the links on regular cams for a few years now and they seem to have the least issues.

      I've had 7 moultrie edges for a month now and they have worked well. At $75 a piece they are hard to beat. They take photo and video at the same time. The first one I got has taken 400 pictures (200 of which were also videos). The first 3 weeks it was set to send images immediately and for the last week it is set to every 3 hours. It currently has 63% battery running off of 16 regular AA's which cost $5.50 on amazon. I imagine you could get through an entire season on one set of regular AA's if you only took photos and transferred once or twice a day. I had two spypoint link micros that never worked well. They either wouldn't get signal, would eat through batteries trying to find signal, and one would only take black pictures, the one that occasionally took pics had horrible image quality. I had a bad experience with their customer service also. That steered me away from the flex's though they do seem to be an improvement.

      Great feedback Steven. We noticed that too…especially when it’s on video. But even when it handles the higher resolution photos, it seems to eat up battery faster when transmitting photos. How often do you have it transmit your photos/videos?

    • @NoEyeDeerOutdoors
      @NoEyeDeerOutdoors  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      $80 is a pretty great price for the flex. SPYPOINT cameras have a GPS Enabled feature that allows users to view their current location, as well as the locations of their SPYPOINT cameras, on a map in real time. So if someone were to steal a camera, when they turn the camera on and it connects to cellular you will see it in your spy point app. Thanks for watching.

    • @NoEyeDeerOutdoors
      @NoEyeDeerOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. The battery life has only been about a 2-3 month span on it. We’re definitely a little disappointed considering the micros could get 10-11 months on 1 set of lithiums. I've been with spy point for over 3 years. Luckily I didn't have too many problems for a long time with my existing cameras. 3 years ago in the middle of the summer I went through holy hell with their customer service. I gave them another chance recently and bought another camera. It was a big big mistake on my part! Their customer service is still extremely extremely bad bad bad! I'm not asking anybody to take my word for this, you can get a taste of it by calling their customer service number and seeing what happens. If you are on warranty they will put you on hold for an hour. After waiting an hour the phone will hang up on you! They don't care how many hours of a customer's time they waste. This is not something new because it's hunting season this year! They've been doing the exact same thing to people for years and years and years. Email is no better. When you first email them you will get a canned automated reply with a number. Then you won't hear anything for up to a week or more. After that time they will ask you for your activation number and absolute proof that you own the camera. That means keep your receipt or you're out of luck. Once you send this information to them, well it's been 2 weeks and I'll let you know what happens if it ever does happen. They are no different than 3 years ago! Unless you're willing to patiently wait for a couple months if you have a problem, don't buy one of these! Another trick is to buy it at a big box store, test it and make sure it works, which sometimes they do work. But if it doesn't work just take it back and get your money back. Their customer service will cost you hours and hours and hours of grief

      @tomisnt ปีที่แล้ว

      But yes you are right, sometimes the fix is just an easy update and being patient. But after a couple weeks of not working, you know you have a problem.
