- Ravin's R18 from 2022 changed the crossbow game in terms of compactness---which is commonly thought to be the crossbow's biggest drawback to hunters. For its radical design that departs from tradition and incredible engineering, JJ gives the R18 due credit. But as you'll see in this video, after full testing and in-the-field hunting use, he hopes the R18 is a launch pad from which Ravin will launch similar crossbows, but with slight improvements. If the innovative company will do this, JJ feels they might just build... the perfect crossbow. Still, for those who value compactness over raw speed, the R18 is second to none.

1. The first part was more informative and trying to put a metric around "Is it worth it?" is helpful. The second part was more of professional experience except for the unfortunate mic loss. 2. Something about having a red dot on a bow doesn't sit right with me and $2000 is a good amount of money. That said, you get what you pay for and you get a lot for the price. I wouldn't personally drop $2000 on it, but if I was in the market for a crossbow in that price range I would certainly want to check it out at the local store because of this review. As an aside, I nearly picked up a TenPoint RS440 Havoc Xero after your review of it a few years ago. My local store in Ohio just happened to have sold out of them or I would have $3000+ less in the bank. 3. The channel is not about looking good in the woods so keep the fancy tuxedo clothes in the closet until the Best of Year awards. 4. The video editor should feel shame for not including Jones the wonder dog.
Great review Jeff... having two xbows and being a tent hunter . . . I can absolutely agree with all of your criticisms....this for sure is a revolutionary bow. You are absolutely right, it should be reviewed by a serious hunter, from the field, and dont hold back. Cuddos. Pay attention Ravin . . .

Good review- I just picked one up. The one thing I don't like is how light the bolts are. Other than speed, have you seen any adverse arrow flight effects of switching to 150 gr heads? Have you experimented with 200?

You know this review was absolutely terrible you just need to stick with 10-point crossbows because you never bad mouth them like you do all the rest
