My car doesn't have parking sensors so I can't say foe certain but I believe the sensors will still make a noise and the bars will probably show you how close you are to something but you just won't see what your close to 🤣
Yea bro android auto wireless and apple car play wireless its so convenient. I got mine for £200 might be a bit cheaper now though as I got it back in March 2022
Tbh I don't remember what the quality sounded like previously so I can't give you a solid answer as to if this one sound better or worse. But it sounds alright to me 🤷🏿♂️
You'll only have battery problems if you have the fast boot option enabled because that never fully turns it off, it just puts it in a sleep mode. So if you don't drive your car regularly then the battery will die eventually. Yes you can listen to the radio on it, I don't listen to the radio so I haven't messed with it that much but when I've clicked on the radio channels it plays that channel so I'll deem that as working.
I forgot exactly how long the start up is but it does take a while to start up. You can turn on quick boot which is a mode that makes it boot up pretty much instantly but that's because in that mode the headunit never really turns off it just goes into a sleep like state so if you don't drive your car regularly it will eventually drain your cars battery. Since I don't use my car all that often I turned off the quick boot.
It takes around 30secs to fully turn on. You can set it on sleep mode so everytime you turn the car off it just goes to sleep that way when you turn the car back on it starts up instantly. ( if you don't drive your car often this will run your battery down )
I bought my polo with a different radio in it it had a metal bracket holding it in place . does this one still need the head unit bracket or will it just fit in normally , hope that makes sense not sure how to word it
I didn't plug them in because I already had a usb port I put in myself but since then I've connect the usb that came with the headunit so I can use wired carplay and android auto aswell as the wireless. I made a video of me doing it but I never finished it, I'll see if I can find the footage and finish of that video and I'll upload it
@@RCS_716 thanks mate , and just to double check , this is a wireless apple car play isn't it ? i.e I don't need to connect my phone to a usb to allow car play to work?
Yes it's wireless. You do not need to connect any cable to your phone to use the carplay or android auto. But you can use a cable if you want to ( but I don't see why you would since using the wireless is so much more convenient lol )
You just need to turn off the fast boot option on the headunit, with fast boot enabled it puts it in a sleep like state so it's never truly off so when you start the car it boots up instantly ( but that will drain your battery over time especially if you don't drive your car regularly ) but if you turn that option off then it will turn off the headunit properly and it won't drain the battery but it does take longer to boot up.
I was considering the rcd330 as it looks more oem etc but I really wanted the bigger screen without any knobs/buttons around it. But if I didn't want this style I would have definitely gone with the rcd330
HEADUNIT: ebay.us/GfI19I
I am just about to install a similar head unit in my 2014 tdi
You just saved me a LOT of research and stress, thanks mate
How do you link a microphone to the unit im currently looking for possible options for my girlfriends 2013 polo and yours is the same setup
The headunit came with a mic and it just plugs into the back of it
my question is what about the car setting you usually access from the radio. like tyre pressure reset etc, are they still available?
My car never had Features like that so I can't access things like that on the new headunit
Do the parking sensors work on this even if u don’t buy the camera?
My car doesn't have parking sensors so I can't say foe certain but I believe the sensors will still make a noise and the bars will probably show you how close you are to something but you just won't see what your close to 🤣
@@RCS_716 Thank you for the response, I’ve bought one so I’ll just have to wait and see 😂
Np :) im pretty sure it should be ok, if not can always return it tho
Wireless as in android auto wireless bro this radio is sick 😮 how much are they?

@@RCS_716 yo just wondering how much both of you guys pay for insurance and how long you've had the licence for, cheers
Atm I'm paying £700 a year for my insurance ( all mods declared )
I've had my licence for just a little over 5 years
Looks good!!
Thanks
Are your steering wheel controls intergrated to it?
My car didn't come with steering controls, but if the car did or your car does then they would still work with it 👍
Does the music sound have quality? Because most headunit lower the sound quality
Tbh I don't remember what the quality sounded like previously so I can't give you a solid answer as to if this one sound better or worse.

@@RCS_716 thank you
I have it in my polo
The music sounds better quality compared to the stock head unit
Will the instrument panel still work after installing a different radio?
Yes
Anyone had any trouble with it draining the car battery?
Also can you get the radio to work on it?
You'll only have battery problems if you have the fast boot option enabled because that never fully turns it off, it just puts it in a sleep mode. So if you don't drive your car regularly then the battery will die eventually.

How long does it take to turn on? Seems like it takes a while

Where did you put your antena GPS?
It's behind the headunit, I would put it near the windscreen but I always connect my phone to the headunit so I never have a need for the antenna

This one will fit in normally, this doesn't need a metal bracket
@@RCS_716 thanks for the reply , what did you do with the USB ports that come with it? did you just tuck them behind ?

Does all the wiring come on the link you added? Or do i need to anything separate?
It comes with all the wiring, you don't need to buy anything separately
@@RCS_716 do I need to anything with the power? Any chance of it draining the battery whilst cars off?
