@mukwati I think there's a few things I can do to get it looking good again that I might do, if not I should be able to buy a new one on ebay etc for relatively cheap
@@RCS_716yes it is a straight swap others have done it before. I believe plug connectors just need to be swapped as they’re different shape but the wires are the same colour so should be a simple job
Can you show us how to re arrange the lil tabs above your infotainment screen (where the tcs button is) I’ve managed to put one in the wrong way and struggling to get it out to put it back in the correct way? TIA
You might have to take that to vw themselves, only a true professional with many years in the field can fix an issue like that, way out of my skill level 🤣 But I put it back the right way round recently so HA!! Can't mock me about it anymore 😝
I used super glue. I only used a very small amount spread across it as I didn't want it to be stuck on there too well because if I ever wanted to remove it I wouldn't want it to damage the material beneath it and it would also make removing the glue residue easier.
This is the video where I first install the usb port behind the headunit. It should be good enough for you to follow it and replicate what I did in the video ( I hope ) th-cam.com/video/ETzDpxs9xt0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ErYyB6RHCD1lIkGE
I am trying to install the strip, however the space to insert it seems almost glued together making it also impossible to push in the led strip. Any recommendations? I also have a polo 6r (2011)
On the glove box side I think you might have to slightly loosen the glove box and put the strip in there, but I felt like that was to far up so I glued mine to the top just above the glove box. For the other side you kinda want to slide it in to start then use some sort or prying tool to tuck it into the gap. It's kinda hard to explain so sorry if this didn't help
You can tell its aftermarket, mostly during the day time as you can just see the tubes, at night since everything is dark it looks more oem, it would look even better if I didn't cut the small tubes as short because then the corners wouldn't be slightly brighter than the rest of the tube, But in short you can tell it's aftermarket but it's harder to tell at night, ez to tell during the day

4:22 Installing that auto switch must have been a challenge and a half
It was 🤣 the mechanism on mine was broken so I couldn't take it out so I had to break it out
@@RCS_716 sorry about that bro. Hopefully you can find a solution to making good on that. It's not looking good

Quality video lad, should think about upgrading the cluster to the newer version that could be a video idea😁💪🏾
Thanks, upgrading the cluster would be cool I'll look into doing it 😁
Beautiful build, you should swap some audi a1 s line seats in would make the interior look modern
Thanks :)
I was actually looking at getting some different seats so this is a good shout.
Do you know if the a1 seats are a straight swap ?
@@RCS_716 what ive heard, it should be a straight swap.
Thanks for that, I'll have a look at them and might pick up a pair then

What glue did you use to stick it on the glove box?

@@RCS_716 I understand. Do you think 3m would do?
@Mito75006 yeah, I reckon a thin strip of 3m tape should be able to do the trick
What you did to that headlight switch! My OCD acting up!
The mechanism to take it out was broken so the only way to get it out was to break it open ( although I could have done it a bit less destructive 😅 )
@@RCS_716 😅
how did you get the USB port behind the screen bro?

Is this on the driver side with the light switch or the passenger side on the glove box ?
@@RCS_716 seems to be both sides

@@RCS_716 I got the tools today, will give it one more try. From your video it looked so easy to fit them in ahah
If I didn't speed up the clips you'd see how long it actually took 😅 it was pretty tedious tbh
What was the finishing like? Do they look oem or can you tell that they’re an aftermarket mod?

How did you fit that steering wheel
I've got a video about it. th-cam.com/video/r07wOVE18x8/w-d-xo.html
@@RCS_716 does a mk7/7.5 steering wheel fit on a polo 6r?
Yep, fits perfectly
Looks good mate. Just wondering what insurance youre with? I have the exact same car, just cant get insurance on it if i remapped it
I'm with greenlight
@@RCS_716 cheers Ill give them a go
Where’s steering wheel from?
I bought it on ebay from a crashed golf
