I couldn’t agree more, Judy. Please, can we just have a boring year? No more excitement, thank you ha ha. Thank you for your lovely wishes and for all of your support! See you in 2022!
You are incredible!! I just saw this on the Sephora app, and was wondering about it because I loved Dior Star foundation (that was discontinued) and the Dior forever (the discontinued one from a few years ago). Thank you!!!! Happy New Year!!🎊
Hello, Helen! I was thinking the same thing. Otherwise I would’ve gotten 2.5 in both and, right now, at least in winter, the 2.0 does look better! It was a gift from the gods of Dior ha ha
Yay! I knew you would be the first to let me know about this foundation. I have loved Dior this year. Very excited for this review. Thanks again for your fast and thorough reviews. You have become one of my favorite channels. A happy new year to you.
I am so flattered, Diane. Thank you so much for your kind words! A HUGE happy new year to you. I have loved Dior too and a new Dior complexion product? Sign me up! For ALL the finishes. haha!
I'm a light medium neutral too and I bought the 2.5N. It's a tad yellow on me too, so was so interesting to hear you say that. Maybe I need the 2.0. Ugh
Great job...I actually think the 2N is the better match on you. When you were outside in the sun the 2.5N was noticeably deeper on your face compared to your neck. However you look lovely...xx
Thank you so much, Lisa. I’m so glad I stepped out into the natural lighting because you are the second person who has noticed that shade differentiation. It’s interesting because I have always been 2.5 but their website definitely recommended the two and it looks like it was not wrong!
Hey Debbie! I enjoy the Dior and the Backstage products so much. This is a good one for you to try since you know you trust the brand and prefer clean beauty. 💕
They both look lovely on you…personally for myself i will gravitate to the hydrating side Dior Forever Skin Glow 3N has been one of my regulars for the last few years x
Hello Veronica!!!! Thank you!!! And happy new year to you tooooo!!! Yep. That was version one that you got. Very very similar just not, supposedly, clean. 🤔
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty ohh i see unfortuntely the foundation wasnt for me it was so oily on my skin after 1 hour :( Im really enjoying LYS tripple serum beauty 🤗❤
Thank you for reviewing this! It’s frustrating that the Forevwr Skin Glow is more matte now because they have a matte option, they should’ve left this one alone. I originally found it by filtering foundations by highest rating on the a Sephora app and finding reviews that mentioned skin concerns that are similar to mine. I just found it in 2021 and for the first time ever-it made me never want to wear any other foundation in my collection. Even their backstage. The Forever Glow was just right for my combination skin, I have dry areas, pores and get oily by end of day but the old formula of the Dior Skin Glow didn’t accentuate my dryness or pores and held up... I did buy a backup during the last Rouge sale because it’ll be the first time in YEARS that I finish up a foundation. Had I known they were going to change the formula, I’d have bought as many backups as I could.
Oh Savanah!!! I can totally feel your pain. When you finally find something that feels like it was made just for you and they discontinue it. It’s honestly like the worst feeling. We come to rely on some of these products for daily use and they just go away and it’s like it feels like a betrayal, doesn’t it? So, I guess you’ll have to try the newer version and see what you think but, trust me, I realize it will not be the same.
You know, once you applied everything else, I could NOT tell the difference between the two shades. Once the concealer mixed in (and then the rest), your complexion looked fantastic. I am happy to hear about a matte AND a hydrating finish!!! Most of the time, we are not given that choice, so big YAY for that!!! When I hear the word “matte” for a complexion product, I dismiss it immediately and don’t look back. I am on the drier side and cannot afford to have stuff dry down on my face. I honestly look 99 years old if I do!! Bless all the 99 ones out there, of course. 🥰🥰 So when I hear they also have a hydrating version, I listen. About not questioning Dior’s ingredients, well, I have learned the hard way to question every ingredient list. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen the words “clean,” “soothing,” “hydrating,” and so on… only to find skin-sensitizing ingredients in the product (one example would be orange peel oil, lavender oil, peppermint, etc.) I have not looked this up, so I cannot comment-but I will. Thank you once again, my friend!!! I look forward to your video tomorrow (even though my answers went poof) and to the opportunity to wish you a very happy birthday!!! 🎉🎊🎈🎂🎁 ♥️🤗♥️
You are my first bday wish, you lovely lady!!! I thank you so very very much! Ah yes. Clean washing, so to speak. All these claims of being clean. Or being sustainable. Is it even true? And, as you note, do they leave out innocent until proven guilty ingredients while including some terrible ones??? You know I prefer hydrating too. Unless I get some serious amounts of dewy primer on first! I can’t tell one bit of difference between the sides either but I’ll go with dewy! Do we? Dewy!
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I vote for dewy too!! Do we dewy?? Do we?? Yes, indeed!!!! 😃 Excellent word play once again!! Yes, some “natural” ingredients are indeed natural, so no worries there. BUT being natural doesn’t mean being soothing or at least non-irritating to the skin. Maybe the percentage of skin-sensitizing ingredients in some formulas is nothing to worry about, but I don’t know. I don’t want any of it. Sometimes I see rosemary oil in the ingredients and think of all the delicious eggs & potatoes I cook every single weekend. I put crushed rosemary on the potatoes and that’s what I think about. 😂😋 BUT rosemary oil is a bad ingredient when applied topically. At least that’s what I learned from ingredient dictionaries I have consulted. I am not a dermatologist, so who knows. I still prefer to stay away. 🤓 Awwww, you are so sweet. If I am a birthday wish, your wish is my command. I am here and always extremely happy to see you!!!! 🤗🤗🎂🎈
@@MissBeeeBeee YESSSSS...I mean opioids are natural too and, um, I'm not recommending them!!! Not to be controversial but what does natural mean? It gets silly. And don't get ME started on essential oils! Rosemary is for potatoes, agreed. But that's the thing about skin sensitizing ingredients. They sneak up on you after a time. So you don't even KNOW. But, again, I am not allowed to question Dior or they will smite me and future generations.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Exactly!! I think arsenic is natural too, right??!! Definitely NOT recommended!!! And exactly!!!!! It does sneak up on us and we don’t even notice it. Yikes!!! I would say don’t get US (you and me) started on essential oils. 🤗♥️
Hi Rebecca ! First off your nails 💅 look fab! So…. I actually like the lighter side on you because when you showed us a clip outside I thought I was seeing a line by your jaw on the darker side but the lighter side looks seamless with your jaw and neck. Maybe it was just the lighting. I’m sure once spring summer comes the 2.5 will be good. I’m bummed they put spf because I get polka dot pores with spf in foundations idk why and it’s so annoying. I’m waiting on the new Charlotte tilbury foundation 🤭. I have the doior natural nude version that came out this summer I think ? Damn I have so many foundations in rotation I keep saying I’m not gonna buy another one but if I buy this I would go for the glow probably. I have the Lisa Eldridge matte and I have to make sure I hydrate really well so it doesn’t look dry. I like either natural finish or glow. I don’t think my natural nude Dior has spf in it.
YES! As usual, Audra, we agree. I think the 2.0 for now and the 2.5 for summer. I HATE SPF in foundation. Serves absolutely no purpose but to break people out. It's NOT sun protection in that amount. Such silliness! Maybe it ends up stabilizing the product a bit? I gotta find a chemist to ask. Any chemists out there??? I'm curious about this new Charlotte foundation too. I don't have many foundations in rotation at all. Sorry, my nose is growing from my lie. hahahah!
I really like this foundation. i got a sample to try and been wearing it the last few days and i like the healthy glow and coverage. My shade is 2N. I’m going to purchase it now that i’ve had the chance to try it.
I think they both look great on you. If I have to be picky, I think the 2.5 is a slightly better shade. In terms of the formula, I haven’t tried the original foundation so I think maybe I will try it in the future. I would love to see your round down for foundations.
What a great idea! Especially with the new Charlotte foundation coming out any day now, it would be really fun to do a foundation video again. It has been way too long. I think you are right about the 2.5 being a slightly better shade for me in the Dior. I think people have been choosing the 2.0 because they like the dewy look but the dewy look in the 2.5 might be the Way to go!
I’m new to your channel and so glad that I did. I’m also interested in seeing them mixed. I was going to do the same thing. I also got a lighter shade in the hydrating one.
Hello Helena! How lucky I am to have you here! I have been playing with these foundations and my favorite combo so far is the matte version with a dewy primer underneath. It just gives it the right amount of movement and life and makes it so pretty. But, all that being said I like the new Givenchy matte foundation even more!
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty awesome, I just watched your video on the new givenchy foundation! I think that I may give it a try now. So nice to meet you. I have combination skin with an oily T-zone everywhere pretty normal or sometimes dry.
@@helenaporter1617 LOVELY to meet you, too!!! And with the oily t-zone even more reason to opt for the Givenchy instead. Won't need anything underneath. The Dior actually MIGHT work all by itself but there IS the chance of it settling with no dewy primer and we don't want that. The Givenchy should be flawless. It's my new favorite.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Yeah I've heard it can be biased and not much support unless you are huge. Hopefully I'm wrong. Will you be reviewing the new Nars and CT foundation? I'm curious about both of them 😁
@@DanielleNicoleMakeup You know what's interesting? My husband is a car guy and watches all these car restoring channels. Those creators have millions of subs and I still often walk by and hear them pleading, "Hey, can you check that you're still subscribed? So I am not sure what YT qualifies now as a huge channel but it looks like we are ALL in this together. Sigh!!! Anyone who is not a corporation maybe???? UGH. And ABSOLUTELY new Nars and NEW CT will be reviewed. You know me. Plus foundation by Laura Mercier AND Tarte, both totally new ones. It's foundation month around here.
I definitely prefer the matte 2.5 side on you Rebecca but I am a big matte fan and it's what I use in foundation. I have never tried anything from Dior but lipsticks. This looks interesting. And wow...love the PINK lip 😉💋💓
Thank you for the lip compliment. I usually am so neutral. Must be the rain. Had me feeling like I needed something bright! We never get so much rain in these parts. You’re used to it where you are, I’m thinking?
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty unfortunately no I live in the Eastern part of the state where we get very little rain and I am that strange person where I love a good, dark stormy day. But we're in a cold snap where the high has been 20 degrees and lots of snow❄☃❄☃❄
First time seeing your channel, and I loved the review. I have very sensitive skin, and I don’t like SPF in foundation because it breaks me out. I like
Yesss Tonya. Me too. I have a Tom Ford Foundation that, if I mention the price, you would faint, and I had to throw it out because it started to break me out. It was after it had sat for about five months or so and it was the darn SPF in it that was causing the breakouts! So happy that you found my channel and so thrilled that you are here!
I think the matte side looks better. Decisions, decisions. You are tempting me again. My poor wallet. But what a delight this video was. So looking forward to the video tomorrow. #1 on the list of things to do. Have a great Thursday evening🙃
Wow this foundation looks completely different then the samples I tried that I loved so much, the samples were very thin that looks way thicker . It's so weird I heard other people on the review section say they bought it because they loved the sample and it's not the same foundation. I just got these samples from Sephora last month ?? Did they change the formula again this summer cause this looks totally different the expire date on the sample was 2024 . I am really not sure if I should order it or not. How do u like the Dior concealer another item I thought about ordering. The shade is another thing I'm not sure about cause I mixed 2 n and 4 w ..lol
It was indeed reformulated just this summer. So I am guessing that your sample is the old formula but produced newly enough that it had an expiration date further away if that makes any sense. This is definitely the brand new formulation and it’s a little bit different. I like it as long as I put a Primer underneath that’s Dewy. I like the Dior concealer but it doesn’t hold a candle to some of the newer ones on the market.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty so the new Dior glow isn't that super thin nice glowy formula like the sample I got ? It was literally like perfect except the spf and heavy scent 😭
They both look great on you! I just returned the original dior glow...it just oxidized so much. Am a little apprehensive about trying the new generation! X
A lot of people are telling me this foundation oxidizes, even the newer version. I did not have too much of a problem with it and I wore it for hours. But, warning, I have heard others say that even the reformulated version does oxidize.
I’m on a low buy next year and have enough giftcards to pick between the Charlotte or reformulated Dior 😅 I love my Dior Foundations so I guess it’s still up in the air.
Fortunately, the Charlotte foundation comes out in a few days, so you will know pretty quickly which one to get. I think it might be the Dior. The only problem I see with the Dior is alcohol fragrance and SPF. But I don’t have a lot of faith so far in the Charlotte. For some reason I’m not feeling good about it but I hope I am wrong.
In my view the lighter shade was closer to your ear color (couldn’t really see your neck), but I thought your skin looked prettier with the matte formula. If I were you I’d return the hydrating bottle. Smile!
Haha! Clean means carefully selected ingredients. Carefully selected? By God? By Christian Dior himself from the gates of Heaven? Haha. It makes me laugh!
Interesting :) the old formulation has SPF 35. Maybe the SPF change will help the formula be more stable over time? I'd love to know what you think when you try mixing the two. I think it just might be lovely! It's a Dior foundation after all.
Hello! My favorite, and this sounds crazy, is the new matte foundation with a really dewy base underneath, a dewy primer like the Charlotte HFF. Just that bit of movement under the matte finish gives it this really pretty life!!
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I like when things balance out. I was inspired by you to pull out my old formulation of Dior forever. It wore so beautifully today. Thank you!
My thoughts are that ur a queen as always. I'm not a fan of their complexion products cause I have dry skin and they look horrible on dry skin no matter how I prep but you look stunning 😘
Thank you so much for your kind words, Sophie. You are always so kind!!! You know what is interesting? I hear from those with oily skin that the Dior foundations don't work for them EITHER. Maybe it's only normal skin that likes them?????
I love the hydrating side on you, finish and color! I just picked it up yesterday 😁 what did you end up going with? Both look good overall but if I had to pick.
Oh thank you, lovely Sheila! YES!!! The finish ends up affecting the shade. For sure. Like matte and dewy wall paint in the same shade always look different.
Both work on you but I think I like the 2.5 on you more. 😊 But this looks like a lovely foundation. Too bad not all brands sell sample cards like Lisa Eldridge. That was super helpful. I definitely struggle with finding my shade. Lol
Oh I agree, Chrissy. Those shade cards from LE were AMAZINGly helpful and, I'm sure, helpful to the brand in terms of having to process returns, refunds and exchanges. That must be a headache at the corporate level!!
I recently tried the Dior face and body foundation and it quickly turned into one of my favorite foundations!!! The only thing I don’t like is the container is plastic😑I think I’m going to pass on these because of the spf. They have beautiful products though. I love their powder products (shadows, highlighters etc) but I would love for them to come out with warm tones in their face powders, as neutrals look terrible on me.
Hello Tracie! Happy New Year. So glad to have you here. Dior foundation and makeup is so interesting. They do so much right and yet there are these obvious holes. As you say, lack of warm tones in the powder, etc. But there’s this draw. Why the SPF in this new foundation? It’s such a ridiculous addition. Ugh. The face and body foundation really is great.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Happy New Year to you as well, Rebecca! I love your channel. I don’t get the spf in foundation. Beauty companies really should stop with that and maybe use it as a teachable moment for consumers that their skin is not protected because they aren’t using enough foundation to offer that protection. PLUS it is not high enough, what is SPF 15 going to do? I saw a foundation recently, maybe Estée Lauder with some odd number like 27. I was like really, why? I think the industry thought it was a good thing to add spf to more face products but if the goal was to encourage folks to be mindful of sun protection, they have failed miserably. I think if they removed spf, their products would be better. I just don’t understand the rationale for only neutral undertones in their face powder when they have some really warm golden foundation shades and putting that neutral powder on is like throwing a wet blanket on my face.
@@traciewarren1070 regarding SPF in foundation, I have recently come up with a somewhat crazy, but maybe correct theory and I need to find some sort of a cosmetics chemist to really answer it. There’s a part of me that wonders if SPF in foundation is a good source of stabilization for the liquid. Now, this is a crazy theory out of nowhere so take it with a grain of salt. But I wonder if it ends up stabilizing the product well and then, in order to excuse its presence, the marketing team uses it to market the brand for people to think they are also getting sun protection. I really really wonder because the fact that it is in foundation makes no sense. As you say there’s often too little of it, you can never use enough. I get it from a marketing standpoint but it is in too many foundations so I really really wonder.
I think the shade a bit darker is better on you as it adds a bit more richness. At the first of the video, I just thought it was lighting making the 2 sides look different, glad I’m not going crazy 😆. I prefer the matte shade as the glowing one is too “glowy”. They both look pretty on you and make your skin naturally beautiful.
Hi, are you still using this & if so which one? I went to Sephora yesterday for the sale and I had the 2.0N on me for a while it was just a smidge too dark, I’m pretty pale at least this time of year. So I exchanged it for the 1.0N, It looked perfect when I watched it in store so I’m going to try it today and I hope it works because I really want it to work! Not that I don’t have a zillion other foundations here ha ha anyway I was just curious on which one you’re enjoying?
Hello Belinda! I think there’s enough sun coming into the store that you definitely got the right match and I bet you will be pleased with it. I am tending to use the matte more but with a very dewy primer underneath. It gives it just enough movement and I absolutely love the combination. Any dewy primer does the trick. The dewier the better.
Really????????? Oh my goodness. Should you try again? They are so similar really but the formulation IS different. Hmmmm. And I LIKE the concealer but I don’t LOVE it. It could do a slightly better job of covering me up. Haha. Will you try out the matte in this? If so, I’m dying to hear your thoughts especially because the first version did not impress.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty if I try it I will get the glowy one. The matte was soooooo bad like it was so dry and felt like mud drying on my face. My pores looked like craters. Awful lol idk if I do it will be from Sephora and 3w was out last time I looked. I was waiting for some reviews to see if it was a lot diff or basically same. So idk

@@MariaDuarte-mt1ez Unfortunately, I have bad news there again. Fragrance is included in the list but far down. STILL, I definitely get a whiff of a botanical fragrance when I first open. @@MariaDuarte-mt1ez I SO SO SO agree with you. That's why I was laughing about clean. CLEAN??? God deems it clean or what??? That's exactly really why I was laughing. Clean has lost its meaning entirely!
Hello Renata!!! You know what I’m hearing? A lot of people like the 2.5 as a shade but they simply prefer the glowy look. I might try 2.5 in the dewy foundation but there’s a lot of foundation coming around the corner!!! Eek! 💕
Alcohol in and of itself as an ingredient in Foundation does not concern me. I understand why it is there. It is simply there for the dry down. That being said, when it is high on the list and that foundation is used every single day, it can indeed dry out the skin. I will not lie. Using a primer definitely helps. And what I do is I limit my high alcohol content foundations to about twice a week. For people with oilOrr complexions, it’s just never going to be a problem. Even at high levels there’s just not a ton in it. It’s not like taking an alcohol soaked cotton ball to your face or anything like that. I think it gets worse reputation that it deserves in other words.
Unfortunately, no. They are both present. Luckily the fragrance quickly dissipates but it is listed among the ingredients. Alcohol seems to be just for the dry down and is not noticeable by scent as it in so many other foundations that include alcohol.
Soooo interesting. I see that Dior website does! And Sephora was out of my shade in the hydrating formula right away. But they don’t even have warm olive. I think Sephora only buys shades that sell well for them. It’s so frustrating.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I have the glow one and considering the matte but I have mature skin I’m 56 so not sure if I should get it, also did they oxidize on you?

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Yes, yes yes! You know exactly how I’m feeling. haha
🤗 🤗 💕

I love the matte with a dewy base primer, which I know sounds contradictory but it’s just a perfect combo.

Good point! Thank you!
Smile!
GREAT comment, Melanie! I thank you. Maybe then the matte in the lighter shade? Good idea!
Watching again ! So agree with Tom Ford and shades are the same with Dior thank goodness . I am laughing with seeing you talk the *clean * . .

Hello Belinda. Between the two Diors, I can't help but love the hydrating one. ❤️
I prefer the lighter side, but I'm not sure if it's because of the color or the formula. You look beautiful, as always, no matter the side.🙂
Katherine you have such a good eye!!!!!! You could tell at the start that the sides were different!!! You have an artists eye!!!!!! I’m so impressed.
