    Hi Pete- The plantar taping is going to support mostly the bottom and sides of your foot. Our extensor stretch video might be a better option. We also have an article about different way to treat tendonitis on our website.

    I just started taking Irish step dancing lessons, and the top of my left foot, from big toe to ankle, has been bothering me. I suspect it's due to a weak arch and inward pronation. Would this wrap work to provide support for this issue?

    I would like to try this plantar taping but I have so many other issues with my feet. I have capsulitis under the second toe, hallux limitus, bunion, arches hurt and my plantar fascia is being pulled by excubent heel spurs in both foot. My fat pad has been pushed to the under toes. I think wearing orthotics for too many years have created alot of problems. I have alot of tension in my feet as they are so hurtful. Would this taping, along with correct toes and the correct toes help and perhaps a metatarsal pad help. My feet have taken a beating and I do not know how to get of out of this mess. Please let me know, I have not been able to locate anyone with your expertise. I am seriously thinking of coming out to Portland before I cannot walk, I seriously need help.

    Hey Doc, thanks for posting this video. Do you have any taping suggestions for plantar plate separation? I've never had spaces between my toes, now I've noticed that I have a gap between my big toe and the one beside it. This is on both feet. I'm noticed this last year after I bought some shoes in one season, but didn't wear them until a few seasons later, probably 6-9 months. So I noticed immediately something had changed because I never ever buy tight shoes. I have always, since little, had pain in the bottom of feet. Especially when jumping down from something, but now jump walking and wearing shoes period hurt my feet. I feel better barefoot. I'm 50 now. Thanks for any suggestions.

      Hi TEadventures, there are a number of great taping options, but definitely the best way to handle this would to go in to a local physician and get a physical evaluation.

    What if a person is allergic to the tape, Can a piece of gause be put underneith the wrap? I tried taping a hammer toe, after 5 days I had a wound that turned into cellulitis which took 3 months of antibiotics to eliminate;it was no fun since my gut was also ruined!

    I found this taping works very well for me, replacing general supportive elastic devices for fasciosis symptoms while working 8 hours or more on my feet. It's comfortable, minimal but very much more to the point than anything I've used up to now. My feet felt good afterwards, with no aches in the morning. Many thanks.

    Dr. McCLanahan, do you know of a physician near Charlotte NC who shares your perspective and theory of plantar fasciitis? I have suffered for 10 years, many treatments (shock, tenex, etc.) and would love to have a doctor who could view my condition with a differet perspective. Thank you!

    • @correcttoes

      At this time we do not have any contacts to share. The best way to find like minded facilities is searching places that sell Correct Toes or even asking a Naturopathic Doctor in your area.

    Can you use kinesiology tape for this?

  • @garycreighton6408
    @garycreighton6408 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    What width Tensoplast tape were you using? It comes in 1, 2, 3 and 4" widths.
    Also, what exact spray 'adhesive fixative spray' are you meaning by what manufacturer? Fixative isn't an adhesive, it is designed to keep drawings from smudging. Spray adhesive has awesomely rugged holding power and would probably be permanently bonded to your foot afterwards?

    • @correcttoes
      @correcttoes  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Gary Creighton We use the 3" tensoplast tape and Tuf-Skin tape adherent.

    • @correcttoes
      @correcttoes  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the amount of activity you are doing with the tape on your foot and how well you tape the foot. It can range from 24 hours to four days. Also, if you shower, be sure to keep it dry.

      An inflamed tendon that is constantly being pulled on can never heal. This relieves the pull on the tendon, allowing the body to help the damage.

      I don't understand, I thought fascitis was a misnomer, and it really is about dead tissue in your feet, not so much inflammation, so why are we now talking about an "inflamed tendon"

    • @Skorzee27
      @Skorzee27 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lois Yoder Fasciiatis in this context refers to the inflammation of the plantar fascia.
