Panniers, rain tent, side deck, tow along hitch? Nothing in video and nothing in pics on website. That's one of the selling points for Tern - the huge range of accessories. IMO it's a bit much to slag off Tern as if it's overpriced when this is a copy of the GSD, with some cheaper components. Equally, Gates CDX with Enviolo at £3k is a great proposition. If accessories come close then I'd seriously consider this (we'll soon need to swap box bike for long tail as kids getting big and hitting the rain canopy). Equivalent of storm box and clubhouse tent at a minimum is required to make this a competitor for happy passengers in all seasons. In any case...great to see a brand expanding while others fall. Competition always good for us consumers....(let's face it, the Trek and Cannondale attempts are terrible value for money).
I think the guys are estarli are working on it for the full launch of the bike they have some the more family orientated bits in test . For me this works as with the minimal seats. Happy to admit it's a extra tool for getting kids around but we have two cars so in really foul weather we can drive. The Tern is just beyond my budget and my cycle to work budget, overpriced maybe a little harsh but it's definitely premium. The nuvinci hub and mid drive were my key requirements. The bafang mid drive for me is actually more appealing than other more locked down systems. I can buy spares and repair myself if required and add batteries as required. Lot of emtbs out there with water ingress and big repair bills.
We are a little hit and miss but having just helped and elderly chap into an ambulance after fall on the hill outside our house its a big reminder. Massive amount of bloody, heavy concussion and out cold for a few minutes. Mostly could have been averted by a helment. I really do get the helmet comments.... Must try hard.
V useful. I would have a 10m journey with 1000ft climb (into and out of Sheffield). Would this bike work for such a challenging commute?

Calling him unintelligent is a bit harsh. I do agree though, helmets are a must.
No cycle helmets hes not an intelligent parent.
