That one looked like he was key work spamming. There’s no way to ethically compete. Most of it is so irrelevant.

I always looked at items similar to what I'm selling in the sold items. The views are always very poor and getting very much worse, like the Reebok trainers that I have been listed twice now over 14 days, not one view. I don't care what anyone says, Item Specifics has driven sellers and buyers away from eBay Big Time. I had very many more sales and views all the time before Item Specifics, the Specifics have driven a lot of sellers off, those sellers were our buyers too. They are not coming back to buy off eBay. Thank you, Don. Charles in the UK

If an item specific doesn’t apply to your item, do you leave it blank, use “N/A” or make up something? I’ve heard/read that leaving it blank and using N/A won’t get your item seen. I’ve also noticed that if I use the end and sell similar tactic to boost sales, I lose item specifics that were previously filled in. It’s so confusing and time consuming. I don’t mind filling in specifics related to my item, but if I’m penalized for leaving unrelated specifics blank, then what’s the point??🤷🏾‍♀️

Yes they are helpful when add , But now if you don’t promote your listing it goes much down on search, I have a dvd I even added cinematography and I saw other with no specifics going first because they ware promoted.

There are 3 parts to the deal
The Owner seller, The Buyer Money
    The selling platform EBay.
The owner seller has the valuable item.
The Buyer has the Money to purchase.
Ebay provides the platform or sales
    floor.
it takes 3 satisfied parts to make the deal
However these parts shouldn't be equal. Ebay shouldn't be allowed a third of every transaction.
This originally was supposed to be an online flea market where you list a space for your item.
Not a deal? it got refunded no problem. basic with return of the item.
Then they decided to get more involved for higher fees for exposure! or any way they can get your money from the deal.
They need to go back to being just a selling platform and maintain it at a basic selling level. That's why people left

If they would give me what I ask for instead of all the other crap, I wouldn't need their item specifics.

I bought some sheet music at an estate sale for a couple of dollars. Sold three sheets for $100. Thanks for that info.✌🏼

"coincidentally, some of these may have nothing to do with what you're looking for"
Absolutely and SO annoying when you are looking for a vintage collectible and most of what comes up in search is scantily clad Asian girls in crotchless panties and teddies.
If I were a new buyer this would be such a turn-off!

Maybe I misunderstood the point of this video. If you complete item specifics with incorrect info to get more views, aren't you left with no defense if someone buys an item and cites your item spec in an INAD claim? I don't know anything about comics. Could you use an example of a small appliance or a book or piece of jewelry or clothing and explain how to use item specifics to get more views? Thanks.

When I'm searching for something I scroll past all the sponsored listings without looking at them.

So that item specific about the team is misleading. Marvel with dc teams in the item specifics.

Great video, Don! This topic kinda sparked an idea in me. Knowing that sellers who put in the bare minimum when it comes to item specifics will have their listings suppressed way down the search pages, sellers may be inclined many times to mark down their inventory to “fire sale” prices. As an Amazon seller, that can create an opportunity to exploit the situation to seek out these low visibility listings to buy from, then flip on Amazon!

Actually people who do know vintage Marvel X-Men comics wouldn't put in "Uncanny" in their search for issue #73, because that series didn't have "Uncanny" added to the title until issue #100. However if they were looking for any issue after #100 from this series, then they would use "Uncanny" as part of their search terms. Everything else though in the video is accurate though. I always enjoy your video's Don.

The search criteria in the video is based on the actual specific search term I was asked to address which is why it included Uncanny.

Here's my thought. On the example you showed with the seller filling in item specifics that don't apply to that item, isn't there a possibility of that item being NOT AS DESCRIBED!

I did two things. Filled in tons of item specifics and list 5 new things daily. Sales went up 20%. I’ve been doing this since July. I also crossed 1000 feedback and that notched up sales too.

When you manage to make 1 sale in 3 months and they act like your their top seller there's something wrong.
