Those light tables look wicked, never seen them before as I'm not into the picture slides like you are. So glad things are coming along well with the unpacking, it's a hard slog finding and sorting out all your collections. I do the A to up to 50, then B up to 50, C up to 50, and so on with many of my record collection all numbered in my books. Keep up the great work as it won't take long before you are fully up and running. Thanks for the updates, Don. Charles in the UK
We have been using this type of arrangement for a while now. We had a great flatbed scanner for many years until it was no longer supported. As anyone who has used a flatbed for items like this, it was slowwwwww. We continue to use our fifteen year old 14MP Canon Digital Camera for this type of work and the results are wonderful. As always Don, thanks for actionable information.
Thanks to you I bought one of these a while back and am very impressed with the quality of photos I get from 35mm slides. . I need to try negatives and 8mm film. My only problem was not setting my camera white balance for the LED light. Set is correctly and back in business.
Thank you very much for the information on the light pad Don. I have been searching for a good way to take photos of negatives and slide. Much appreciated.
Thanks for the information. I will have to get one for my slides and old family negatives. Question for you Don do you pass on those slides without information on the slides (mystery photos)?
I picked up my first bunch of slides the other day for resale. I was debating getting a light box like this but ended up just using my laptop screen with a blank white word doc. I’ll consider one of these if I get a bigger haul of slides.
My father was a U.S. Army cryptanalytic officer stationed in Nara and Kyoto Japan in the 1950s. He was sent there in late 1953 but my Mom and us kids weren't authorized to go over there until early 1955. He left 2 weeks before my younger brother was born in January 1954. He didn't see my brother until he was a year old. I was 2 and a half years old when we went to Japan. We lived in army housing during the years 1955 through early 1957. I have many memories of that time but few pictures. Anyway, I have been searching records released by the National Archives just recently trying to find pictures of the compounds we lived in for military families, especially the housing in the Kyoto botanical gardens. Excited to see you have slides from that time period taken by the military in japan. Are these just army photos or are they photos taken by anyone in Japan during that period?
Congrats on getting your move done. I know it must have been an ordeal. Please remember to breathe and eat when you can and relax a bit. You look tired, so do take care of yourself. The organizing will get done, it takes time. Be blessed, Don.
I might have missed it but I did not hear why you buy old slides and take pictures of them. I can only guess but was wondering the reason. Just curious…
Hey Don, excellent content as always, do from beginning to end, do you take a photograph in the dark one by one, have them printed and sell as one off? Or are you duplicating each photo and selling them over and over? You are the best!

I bought this over a year ago because you suggested it. Very happy with it.

Thank you, Don! I’ll be ordering one tonight.
Wonderful!
Thanks.😉👍❤
Love your hair! lol
I have a case of glass plate negatives from the early 1900s. It looks like the light pad will work for these, also?

How much are the projecters worth. I just picked one up for 5 bucks
Auction Professor, do you do hand drawn animations?
I have even used it to take great pictures of some coins. Wish they made a bigger one.
Do you sell the slides individually or do you make prints from them.
When will you be back for Thursday Lives again?
Don!
