    Just bought one. "Used" with 200 miles on the clock. Quick shifter, fly screen, heated grips and top box (which is probably going to be removed as it doesn't look right) Traded my 2018 Africa Twin 1000 for it. Wanted a commuter/play thing.I only picked it up on wednesday.
    100kg lighter than the twin. Almost the same hp. But fun factor vastly improved. Also, as a short 5'7" and 28 3/4 inside leg, its so much better for touching the floor.
    Been riding for 20 years and always had touring/adventure bikes.
    I absolutely love this bike so far.

    When I heard about this bike I wasn't impressed at all, good to find out something that exceeds expectations. Reminds me of when the Bandit 600 came out in 1995......£3995 , was good fun and sold like hot cakes - looks like Honda have a winner on their hands Bruce !

    Fantastic review we don't need all the stats just how it rides, sounds and makes you feel that's what matters. Cheers Bruce

    The more I think about it. I need to go to the Honda dealership and sit on it. I remember the old 1973 cb 750 and it only made around 67 hp. Back in the day, that bike was pretty fast. Now we have 23 hp more

    Did enjoy that review, as a rider with over 30 years behind me I am leaning away from the big engined heavy stuff more and more these days. I am seriously tempted by this bike and I actually like the looks. A 750 with 90 bhp is plenty plus you can actually use most if not all it has (with relative safety) on todays roads, unlike any modern hyper naked or high end sports bike that are just way way too much.

    This is a great review. I've been looking up loads of reviews on this bike. I'm really looking forward to when Honda releases the Hornet in the US. It will probably be my first bike, so it is good that people have been saying it would make a great first bike.

    • @nicerides9224
      @nicerides9224 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It would make a great first big bike. You might want to use rain mode on it until you get used to it if you haven't ridden much. It will make life a lot easier for you while you learn how the bike handles. The throttle will be smoother and the power will be more manageable. 750cc bikes might not seem fast compared to a litre sport bike but they still get up and go and do about 4 seconds for 0-60mph/0-100kmh. If you are riding in suburbia that is pretty quick especially if you are new to riding.

    Great looking bike I love the frame colour, really makes the style of the bike pop out...I had many Honda’s over the years and have to agree something about them leads to not always pushing to the peak range constantly.
    Just enjoying what they wanted for you the ride...
    But 7K for a 750cc with style, power and build quality ! think they put a lot of thought into both new & seasoned riders alike 👏...

    I'm so glad you reviewed this bike and painted it in an entirely different light to the Ol' Man, who completely dissed it for being too small and too ugly. It was great to get a more positive perspective on it from someone of similar build. It's not a bike I'd buy myself but I'm sure they'll sell very well not only to new hikers but to older ones looking to go lighter.

    • @hosuyakawayazuki
      @hosuyakawayazuki ปีที่แล้ว

      Ol'Man is 100% right about this bike imo. As a fun bike...sure, I would consider. As a daily workhorse/commuter...absolutely not. This bike will share fate with Trident 660 - "very good bike, for sure" but still best selling in europe is MT 07 (in this category).

    • @greywolf9292
      @greywolf9292 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hosuyakawayazuki The MT07 is another " pointy piece of plastic" in the Ol' Man's eyes. It should be noted since the Hornet review and comments criticising his scathing opinion. MDATOM are no longer going to review bikes not in the Classic or Cruiser genre's. If the Ol' Man was so spot on, how come Bruce didn't complain about the bike being too small. Whilst in your opinion the Hornet is totally unsuitable as a daily workhorse commuter, many people will buy them for just that purpose. We each have different tastes, budgets and requirements, every bike will appeal to someone. At least Bruce tells us to try one for ourselves, his opinion is just that based on his thoughts.

      @@greywolf9292 Relax man...I am sure you are right but his review was not all negative:) I have tested this bike myself and I agree with him about ergonomy and a few other things :P Take it to the city and try half an hour in a heavy traffic...you will curse it. Go for some twisties...you will smile. Off course...I am simplifying a bit but thats the essence. One thing...engine, it is very damn good.

    Hi Bruce, Really enjoyed the review. it's always good to have an opinion that you can have trust and faith in. It was a 1999 600 Hornet that got me back into biking after a 15yr gap. It was cheap, great to ride, and like all Honda of that era bullet proof for lazy sods like me. One question if I may you reported it gave you a sense of speed that wasn't aligned to the speed you were doing? why to you think that was the case? have you ridden many naked bikes lately as I notice a similar when I switch between my bikes (faired and naked)👍

    Great review, not my kind of bike but you can't argue with the performance and price , has to have the best mph per pound rating on the market, as for your comments on the overcrowded roads and speed restrictions in the South East, maybe its time to relocate to the Highlands (talk to Mrs Teapotone nicely )😅

    • @teapotone
      @teapotone  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d imagine it’s absolutely fine. A new rider could ride a Fireblade perfectly well as long as they learn the throttle response and bike handling behaviours before they start pushing limits.
      It’s all about the rider.
      This is a very easy bike to ride.

      @@teapotone got it. I am thinking the different modes, like the rain one that seems to limit throttle response, can also help with new riders.

      I own one, and in rain mode you can go crazy on the throttle with out have to worry about anything. Plus full traction and wheelie control in rain mode.
      Now in sport mode you have to be careful! And if you are a new rider and are having problems with throttle control stay in standard mode and rain mode and you can have fun and enjoy without worrying 🙂

    Thanks Bruce.
    I've mentioned it before, I like your bike reviews as it's more of a real world experience for me, as we're both the same height, but your clothing is just a few Kgs heavier than mine. 😊
    So seeing you on "smaller" capacity motorcycle it's a good comparison for what it would be like for me.
    Just on the nodding to fellow bikers, I nod at everyone, even those on GS's....yey they're the only ones that don't nod back.
    Why is that? 😁
    Thx
