Absolutely beautiful song. I hadn’t heard it in over 40 years and I cried because of the memories it brings and feeling so warm & peaceful. Life is much tougher now.
Absolutely adore this song, the memories It brings back of innocent happy times when I was a young woman. His voice is like silk. God bless you for the music Dean.?
"Innocent happy times" is spot on. In present times, the expression "You don't know what you got till it's gone" is so apt. Another iconic song th-cam.com/video/O10SO8Qpw6Q/w-d-xo.html from innocent happy times. I say this with Tales Of The Unexpected on the TV 😃😥😃
Now I'm 69 I spend a lot of time thinking about when I was a young man with so much to look forward to I played a lot of sport but music was always my thing I think the words to this song and the images Dean creates in my mind make it a very special song Underrated definitely
I was 16, this song touched me deeply. I had no clue about love, but I could feel it through his beautiful singing and melody. Many things happened in my teens, I was lonely and in pain, music kept me going. Those days are on my mind a lot.
Yes I was a teenager when I first heard this beautiful song not knowing what love really was, but I was fortunate to find a wonderful girl who I married, and was together for 40 years ,until I lost her to cancer ,I know what love is now and this song takes me back ,so many good memories ❤
I bought this album when I was a teenager and have always thought this a very underrated song, the emotion in his singing is unreal and completely genuine. Thanks for the memory Dean!
Hi Steven. I liked your comment regarding this beautiful melody. I didn't buy it in my teenage years but it jumped into my thoughts this morning, so after listening to it, I responded to the first touching comment; which was yours!! Happy Sunday 16.4.23. Which was your teenage dacade? Mine was mid 1970s. Regards from Harrow UK. 😊🤝🏼😀
@@winstonmiller9649 I was born in ‘65 so I suppose the ‘70’s would be the answer to that question. I think the variation in music in that decade was amazing! ABBA,AC/DC, Queen, genesis, black sabbath, Neil Diamond,TRex, the sex pistols!! Good lord there was something g for everyone 😁
Went to see Dean in Runcorn at the end of April…. This guy deserves every credit going for his songwriting and musical ability. He was polite enough to meet everyone as they left. 100% will be searching for his next performance near me . Thanks Dean an absolutely fantastic night .!
Knew a girl at school called Lydia, l used to sing this to her every time l saw her, until she agreed to go on a date with me, took 4 months but finally agreed, must of been my terrible voice, we've been married 25 years.
Dean has a little Prague Ratter called Lola, they're technically the smallest dog in the world, I believe, but I still wouldn't like to argue with one! Great song!
I bought the LP....and I am also a male.....Great times back then....and Great Motorbikes.....beer and birds.....probably in that order....cheers mate....👍🇬🇧🤓
Schitterend nummer dat ik pas hoorde in de zomer van 1991. Ik dacht dus lange tijd dat het een jaren negentig nummer was, maar het was er al in 1979. Ik heb dus iets gemist.
Terrific clip, from the early years of Dean's career, he's still out there treading the boards. Check out his web site and please have a look at similar clips on m,y page!!
Lydia keeps my toothbrush in her apartment and she never complains. Well, hardly ever. And then jokingly she says. Boy, it's been so long since I held you, I nearly gave you up for dead. I nearly gave you up for dead. I nearly gave you up for dead. Lydia, Lydia how come you understand? I can offer you nothing at all. This is more than I had planned. Lydia, Lydia I am at your command, at least until morning comes, then, I must be off again. Lydia, you know I always talk about making conscious decisions, about running my own life. Well, maybe I'm fooling myself. It's a role I like to play. Because more often than not I'm down here on the corner. I'm sorry I woke you. Do you feel like some company? Babe, I need a place to stay. Lydia, Lydia how come you understand? I can offer you nothing at all. This is more than I had planned. Lydia, Lydia I am at your command, at least until morning comes, then, I must be off again. I sleep with a woman who thinks I'm a child. Well, maybe I am. No, that wouldn't surprise anyone. I suspect that much is true. But, Lydia, if you only knew how much I love you. Did you know that I love you? It's the best that I can do. Lydia, Lydia how come you understand? I can offer you nothing at all. This is more than I had planned. Lydia, Lydia I am at your command, at least until morning comes, then, I must be off again.

Dean, you have written one of the best love songs EVER!! Be proud of it!!!!!!!!!!!

There’s nothing on earth like a beautiful song to take you back to happy innocent times. I almost cry when I hear this wonderful song.
They dont write like this anymore.... The era when feelings specially in slow songs broke your heart
I get goosebumps every time I hear it. One of the most beautiful songs ever written.
I agree absolutely - a much underrated writer and performer.
Dean had an amazing persona that radiated in his singing ....
They are not played anymore. It’s a shame
Timeless love song for those who feel real love

What is this.
This is perfection.
Epic, timeless.... what more can I say. Takes me back to happier, simpler times.
