    Great video!
    Do you know if I can change the pads channel numbers?
    When you pick your drum kit lower left pad is Kick on your hardware, mine is upper left when I pick my drum kit. It’s not very convenient to play like that. I was wondering if there is a way that I can make the lower left channel my channel 1?
    Thank you 🙏

      Thank you :) Yes, you can change the pad layout. It's one of the shift functions, I think under system, being called PL 1 - 4.

    the funky drummer beat with that one kit at 11 minutes is sick. i am extremely curious to hear if the Roland SPD has demos that rival the Nord Drum's, in terms of on board sounds. the Nord Drum is so limited but it always just seems to sound so awe inspiring compared to the corny stuff I've heard in SPD demos. plus it just looks cool and is so inspiring as an instrument. can't have it all, I guess.

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your comment, really glad you liked the Funky Drummer version :) Honestly I remember the onboard sounds on the SPD SX being super basic and limited, absolutely no reason for buying it. If you like to make and manipulate sounds on the device itself The Nord Drum will be way more fun.

    I love this. Im thinking of getting an ND - I cant play sticks so just to program. Do you think the extra synthesis parameters the ND2 offers make it worth the inflated price over the ND3? I want to be able to make the weirdest most alien sounds possible.

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you like the video 💚 About the ND2 I can't really say much as I never played/tried it, so you may want to ask some people who actually use it. It's quite cool though to have the pads that come with the ND3P, since you don't have to be a skilled drummer in order to have some fun with it.

    i have the nord drum 2. I love it but also hate it. its just very difficult to get normal drum sounds out of it. for weird stuff its great.

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know what you mean. I feel like if you want some more simple/normal sounds you need to be patient in order to find the sweet spot between parameters. At the same time it's always easier to just go into some crazy direction because the changes are more obvious. But yeah, if you're goal is to have a realistic drum kit you might be better off with samples. I managed to get a few good simple sounds though.

    This is an excellent tutorial. Would you play this differently if you had a kick pedal? Could you show us some patterns with that?

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dominic! Thanks so much for your comment, really glad you enjoyed the video! I don’t use a kick pedal anymore because I never felt comfortable with it- although I’m a “real” drummer. For those electronic sounds I decided to stick to hands and have my feet free for doing some midi commands. I still have a boss footswitch that I sometimes used though, so I’ll think about making a video with that one 😉

    • @dominicsoon
      @dominicsoon 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JannisLeWolff This would be fascinating to see. I actually resonated with your video a lot. I’m not a “real” drummer (keyboardist) but I intuitively felt my basic beats were not lacking and so was wondering whether a kick would be useful. I do wonder whether a kick would help once you have to throw in some fills.

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dominicsoon I'll see what I can do 😉 As I said I don't own a proper kick pedal because I tried and didn't like the feel, but if I can get away with the Boss footswitch I'll put it on my list of potential videos for the next year 😊 what styles of beats are you mostly looking for/using?

    • @dominicsoon
      @dominicsoon 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is it possible to add a Hihat Pedal and a Kick Drum Pedal?

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can add a kick pedal, but it uses the sound of one of the pads- so it’s still 6 pads max. Hi-Hat pedal is not possible as far as I know.

    I noticed that on your Nord, the kick snare and hat are on the bottom, while toms are on the top. Is there a way that gets that flip? On mine, it is reversed, with hat and kick at the bottom.
