  • What is real when we don't reference thoughts? This is a short exploration of the difference between thought perception and immediate (non-dual) perception. If you follow along you might get an experiential taste of non-temporal experience. This simple practice can be repeated to clarify this direct perception.

Thanks. Love the way you remove spiritual connotations from your instructions and meditation. It really is so simple.

This is a good nudge back to reality. So simple yet letting go of the labels and just experiencing the sensory input as it is can be so hard sometimes.

Yes, a little practice and incisive noticing of when thought reappears can really help to remind us of how to remain in the senses.

Listening and watching this video produced one of the deepest moments of present awareness I have every experienced. Toggling back and forth between being present in the now versus being asleep in my head created such a powerful distinction between the two states. Thank you. I cannot adequately express how grateful I am for what you are doing here. Wow.

Excellent. Thank you! Very helpful. The difference in effort to produce memories or anticipate future which actually just end up dissolving when investigated vs. no effort of being in the here and now was completely palpable.

Am I imagining the world into existence? The senses are just sensing, they don’t know what they are sensing, only a thought could give the sensations a name. It’s seems pretty wild to the mind that the world is imagined.

This is a very important insight. Let’s leave behind the need to distinguish real from unreal. Regarding the sense domains, you can deepen this direct insight considerably

Your videos have got me engaged in self-inquiry a lot. Where do thoughts come from...I never had them when a baby. Layers upon layers of conditioning through life reinforces this habit and then belief in this and that. I ask myself how all my thoughts can be real? When I fall asleep at night everything disappears, no me, no thoughts, no beliefs. Sleep gives a clue.

It's all made of consciousness. Past, present, future: experiences (memories, images, movements, smells, emotions, narratives, etc.) within the imagination of Source. No need to cling. 🧘‍♂️
Simply allow experience, practice the state of passive awareness all the time, no focus, no labeling, no reaching, no projection, let go and simply _Be_ in the moment. ⚫️
Even this moment is only a "dream" within the universal infinite consciousness, and _You are_ that Consciousness.🙏

This was amazing and actually brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Angelo. And.. a question came up for me.. what IS the thing that creates that visual image? Where the heck is it actually? Is it just in our brains?

@@SimplyAlwaysAwake I went to the Library and found The 3 Pillars of Zen. I took it out and read an account of an awakening. I felt really frustrated. I was still seeking. A few videos ago, you addressed this. It's so funny to me that I keep doing this. I am stuck on seeking the magic formula to getting instantly enlightened. I read a part in another section where the Zen master has one-on-one conversations with his students. He remarks that the students get it intellectually but, that it is not kensho. He sends the students away and tells them to do more inquiry on Mu.
In this video, you said "stop". Reality only exists now. I totally see that. The sounds, the sights, the sensations, the smell. How come it's not enough?

I watched today's video (Sept 21) and really felt the uch when putting attention in the present experience. I am wondering if this question I posted last week is the uch I noticed today.

@@SimplyAlwaysAwake first and foremost it's a thought. It's the blockage/mistrust/resistance you speak of to the present moment. It's what I understood from Sept 20 video. Now I see it/feel it in chest, It gets overlooked, and then thought stories takeover.
